After a hot and exhausting day at Universal studios we really wanted to have some halal meat so after a yelp search, came here. The woman at the counter was really friendly. We got the shawarma gyro and half a chicken with rice. The food was really good and they didnt take too long bringing it out. The paintings on the walls are beautiful, ,I loved the decor and service. Stopped here on my way to hotel for a late night dinner. Gyro platter was good, would have liked more salad and less rice but that is my opinion and some olives. Lots of food!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! First off I'd like to say that the online prices do not match the stores prices when you actually order. Secondly the sandwiches are poorly assembled, the lettuce on my burger tasted old and unwashed and looked as if they just ripped a piece off and set it on the bun, didn't cut it at all and it felt like I was eating a lettuce ball with my burnt beef patty. Don't bother wanting to add pickles to a sandwich or burger because they don't add them! Lastly they got our order wrong and wanted us to walk all the way back there while on vacation with the food untouched to switch it to our original order which is just ridiculous. Edit: I came back one year later. The food is still very good, but way over priced. A gyro platter is 14 dollars and barely comes with any other sauce, when asked for more it's a dollar extra. My sister and I were walking back to our hotel after a day spent at Islands of Adventures and saw this place. We were looking over the menu when the owner came out and introduced himself and answered our questions. In the end, we got the gyro with french fries for dinner. As we were waiting for our food, the owner asked if we would like some hot tea since it was a cold night (and it was cold, in Florida! Never thought Florida would get down below 60s.) and gave us two full cups of black tea. For free! The gyro was delicious; small chunks of beef mixed in with lettuce, onions, diced tomatoes, and tangy tzatziki wrapped in soft pita bread. The fries: fresh and perfectly salted. Golden and tasty. Food was okay, service was pretty good. However, it was expensive. We had a chicken platter and 12 piece wings, and I think came out to be $28+ and we did not even order drinks. And I am not too sure they offer "tap water" (meaning not bottled water) as they sell bottled beverages. Ordered for takeout got the gyro , Philly, the wings, chicken pizza and falafel platter staff where very helpful but the food wasn't very nice the gyro only had a few pices of meet and was dry, the pizza had no flavour, the wings seemed like they where fried a day ago and Tabasco was splatterd over the top to make then spicy not nice at all, they would get 1/2 star just for the Philly which lacked meat but tasted edible , I think the total for this was like $80 along which included drinks, I wouldn't recommend this place as its over priced for the little food you get. First time there. Was driving by with some friends and we passed by this place and thought let's give it a try. I only tried the Falafel Sandwich. And to be honest, it was nothing special. This place is ripoff, we ordered over the counter, and was charged 15% more, the cashier gave us a receipt without the prices, just the food items, when I asked for the real receipt, she printed it out and I gave it to my wife, once in the car my wife and I felt it was too much for what we had ordered, so she was going through the items and found the 15% change for a service charge, we did not tell the cashier we were eating at the restaurant when we paid, when we diced to eat there, we had severed ourselves, grabbed the drinks from the cooler and cleaned our table when we were done just as you do at the food court at the mall, when I called to dispute the charge, the same lady said that it was service charge for her taking our order over the counter, I was stunned. Upon reading the yelp reviews my brother and I were reluctant to order however upon my brothers request we decided to give it a chance. The menu is simple and prices are reasonable except for 2 dollar can soda. My brother and I ordered 2 chicken shawarmas and they were excellent. Amazing food and excellent service! We had a relatively large party (10 adults and 6 kids) and the food came out promptly and delicious. My experience here was wonderful. My friends and I came in exhausted and starving after a flight and having hastily checked in to our hotel. We might not have looked the most presentable, but all the workers and the owner greeted us and were kind. The owner went out of his way to be funny and generous with us, checking in with us a few times through our meal to make sure we were happy. The place looked clean and well kept, though I wish they had more than one bathroom, but it's a small store front. The food was delicious, especially the kebab meat, juicy and flavorful. I loved their chili sauce, not too killer hot and not as sweet as some people make it. I highly recommend it on anything...I even put a bit on my salad. Definitely coming back! read more

Halal Food Express is a great place to stop in if you're on or near I-Drive, where halal options are limited. Although there isn't much seating for bigger parties, there are 6-7 tables inside. Lots of parking outside. It's a small restaurant, but the food comes out quite fast. Our order for 10 was out in 20 minutes. The chicken shawarmas were good and the portions are big. I didn't have the cheeseburger but I heard it was good. The pizzas are okay, but I guess they're enough since there aren't many halal pizza places in Orlando. The owner was super nice and gave us all complimentary water bottles, which was a kind gesture. He definitely made us feel welcome and appreciated. ABSOLUTELY BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! We were in town for our honeymoon and this was the first halal restaurant we tried because of its convenient location on international blvd especially for i-trolly transit users. The first thing that impressed us is the immediate Islamic vibe when you walk in. The large TV screen that displayed the Saudi TV Al Haram Channel made us feel at home. There was also amazing artwork of the three holy masaajids (Al-Aqsa and Haramain). We were greeted at the counter by the owner who was very welcoming. We arrived pretty late and he assured us that we can take our time to dine in despite the restaurant closing soon. We told him we were on our honeymoon so he began to give my husband advice on how to take care of me in a very friendly way. He also gave us free drinks at the end of our meal (which was delicious!) But that's not the best part of our experience - after exiting the restaurant, we waited outside for our Uber The owner then stepped out and asked us how we were getting home and insisted on us canceling the Uber ride that he may give us a ride himself!
