I visit this restaurant almost weekly. I've recommended it to numerous people. However, it can be phenomenal or it can be slightly maddening. I've discovered it matters tremendously who makes your food as to what kind of experience you have. I recently switched the day I visit and ended up with back to back unfortunate looking bowls. This is a review for a TO-GO ORDER on a weekend! What I'm going to rate: Mixed Chicken & Gyro Plate Food: It was not too bad. Boyfriend and I both love halal plates! The portions are a LOT. Veggies are FRESH & the protein was also FLAVORFUL. However, I've had better gyro plates in the Valley for the similar price. Price: $VERY CHEAP which is expected since this is around CSUN area. Parking: LIMITED. It is in the corner of a dark plaza which you can easily miss if you are not familiar with the area. The good thing about it is that it is rare the plaza gets so packed. Service: GREAT. The crew was very helpful when we had questions about the menu. I also noticed that the restaurant is NEAT & ORGANIZED. It's very CLEAN and it probably has about 4-6 tables which is perfect for a QUICK weeknight dinner. Since we ordered it for to-go, I had a different expectation on its service compared to when I'm dining there. I'm HAPPY to say that they exceeded my expectations for a to-go service! They got enough napkins for us. Utensils are also in the bag and most importantly they got our order right! Atmosphere: This is the perfect spot if you are looking for a QUICK GRUB that is DELICIOUS & CHEAP at the same time! Overall, I will COME BACK and SUPPORT this restaurant because the location is CONVENIENT for me and the food is DECENT. We came to Halal House after seeing it in the Hot and New restaurants. And let me tell you it's HOT AND NEW. they recently opened about 2 weeks ago and it located in a small plaza next to CSUN. As soon as we walked in we were greeted the owners of the place. The restaurant is a sit down but you can also order your food to go. The service is great and the atmosphere is warm, just like home. They have plenty of options to choose from. I decided to get a half rice and half salad plate with half chicken and half beef. I added onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, hummus, yellow peppers, and a lot of white sauce! The plate was big enough for me but it could also be big enough to share between two people. They have a variety of sauces including spicy Chutney and Hot Sauce. The owners were so friendly and nice. They hooked it up with the plate! It was so delicious! I'm the type of person to mix my food together and this is exactly what I wanted. The beef was tender and melts in your mouth. The chicken was tender and seasoned very well. We also ordered some Chai tea that they make in house and ready to serve after 6pm. The prices are great and it's easy to make your own plate! Falafel burger? Yes, You HAVE to try it. It's mind blasting! I love Falafel but I've never had it between burger buns. It took me on a whole new journey of flavors. I also tried the chicken and gyro mix plates and that was super flavorful as well. The white sauce is on point and not runny like the "other" Halal restaurants. Green chutney sauce had a cool and smooth chutney taste. The chicken sandwich was fire! It has a big breast party cooked perfectly crisp and juicy with the right amount of sauce. The chai at the end of the meal was the cherry on top. I'll definitely be coming back since i cant find food this good for such a good price. read more

The burger was pretty good but I wasn't a fan of the steak style fries. They do have curly fries and maybe I should've gotten those instead. The plate was ok. The food was barely warm which was a bit off putting: the rice was good and the chicken as well just that they don't give you enough in proportion to the riced and veggies. Great customer service. However, I have to comment on their halal chicken plate (large)...for the near $15 price with taxes it was not worth it. I keep coming back not only because they have really good food (their halal plates and their chicken sandwich are delicious; you get a lot for cheap) but also because they have a really good, incredibly nice staff. I am going to keep coming back! Side note: I ordered two halal plates from them today through Uber Eats, and I was notified through the app that there was an issue with my order. I called the store to find out what had happened and found out they had forgotten to include one of the plates. Whoever was on the phone with me was really courteous and offered a solution to the issue. I ended up just coming by to pick up the plate because I didn't mind stopping by, and, in addition, they made me a chicken sandwich on the house.
