My favorite is the passion fruit slush with boba, but that's my favorite everywhere. They always have super fast service (but maybe cuz I always end up going midday on weekdays when everyone is at work), and their leader board of most ordered drinks is awesome! Best thing so far about this location no crazy lines!! Hopefully, it stays like that then I'm good. I pass this location almost everyday on my way home so with it being so convenient I for sure can get my Half and Half cravings out of the way easier. Located in the same lot as B Mans, Starbucks and Howe's Supermarket so parking is pretty good. Same menu as all the other locations. Plus you can use the same stamp card as you would use for the Montery Park or Roland Heights location. No need to make sure you have the correct locations stamp card, stupid San Gabriel location. read more

I was super excited to try Half and Half Tea Express since so many of my friends have been there and the super fat cups look so adorable! However, I was left very, very disappointed. First of all, do not confuse Half and Half Tea EXPRESS with the Half and Half Teahouse. Although they are ultimately the same, Express only has drinks and the fat size cups; the teahouse does not have fat cups but has food. I accidentally went to the teahouse first then I drove the couple miles to the Express just for the fat cups. I ordered the milk tea with boba and my boyfriend got the same thing but with pudding. Service was pretty good and I only waited about a minute for my drinks; there were about 10 people at the place on the Friday that I went. Honestly, the milk tea and boba was not good. The tea had a sort of strong taste to it and was not very sweet. The boba was a little bit sweet, but I have had better boba at many other places. Also, they use crushed ice for their drinks, which was annoying because every sip I took contained chunks of crushed ice that I had to chew on. I will not return here and it is not worth the long drive. Even with the lines they sometimes get, they move pretty quickly and you're actually able to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Other than that, this place serves the same thing as the other locations, fat cups and all. The Milk+Strawberry, Pudding, Honey Boba is tasty. The only thing I hate about this place is the customer service. The THREE employees literally take FOREVER to make a single drink. I ordered my drink at 1:50 pm on the dot ( I checked my watch because I was running late for class, but it was a hot day so screw it). There was only a group of three people in front of me who ordered one drink each - total four drinks. The people and I did not receive our drinks until 2:10 pm, meaning it took them TWENTY MINUTES to make four drinks. Now, there was an employee speaking on the phone, and I guess for whatever reason the phone order made no sense, but do you really need THREE people to decipher ONE phone order? I am not a very picky person (I am a picky eater though) so I do think I would come back again, but only if someone else requests to go would I be willing to tag along. The decor inside was very classic, retro, and old school which is cool to take instagrams with or facebook photos with. They had some old couches and dinner tables i haven't seen since my grandparents were alive. I shared the milk tea with caramel, honey boba and pudding in super size. This might be a little bit on the sweeter side for some people but it was perfect for me and my boyfriend. If you don't like your drinks too sweet you should definitely ask for less sweet. The boba were chewy and sweet with the perfect consistency. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Holy Jesus! I was lured here by my friend Jenny and what an experience... The drink itself is worth 4 stars... it is tastier than other tapioca milk tea places. However, the wait time is worth 0 stars (hence the average of 2 stars). Where else can you wait 30 minutes for a $5+ dollar drink? Even the most crowded Starbucks wouldn't let you wait this long. Yes there are some seating, however this is a relatively cramped tea place, especially on weekend nights. During the afternoons throughout the week, all you'll see are students from San Marino. The service is definitely one of the fastest I've encountered for a tea place, and the decor is so-so. The drinks are either a hit or miss, sometimes a bit too sweet, other times the boba is not that well cooked. It's a great place to visit if you're suddenly feeling the urge to grab some boba. I will start by saying that I am in no way a tea/boba shop expert but I have had my fair share of boba. This place is really good and convenient. Parking is generally good and if you go before or after the school rush, lines shouldn't be terrible. Set-up is a little confusing but after my first visit I got the hang of it. Staff wasn't very helpful with the menu so I had to figure out what to get on my first visit on my own. My husband ended up with an iced ginger green tea and I had a lychee slush with boba. Both were great! Their boba is so good!! My husband didn't like boba, but we had never tried honey boba. One tip- drinks don't fit in a standard car drink holder. Cups are wider than tall. This is my favorite boba place Their signature iced milk drink with caramel and boba cannot be found elsewhere. Avoid their pudding though. Its not really sweet and feels like plastic. I absolutely love the honey boba here and because it's sweet and chewy and also somewhat firm. Drinks, on the other hand, are not always consistent. If I don't get the iced milk drink with caramel and boba, I usually get green tea with boba. Sometimes the tea is light and sweet and sometimes it's bitter. If you want your tea sweet, ask for osmanthus or extra sweet. The lines here are either ridiculously long and will take over half an hour to get through or there's practically no line and will take less than ten minutes to get through. The only place that doesn't accepts debit cards. Their new system doesn't accept cards with chip on it. How unfortunate that they upgraded their payment system but to me it's a downgrade. So this is now like the rest of the Half and Half express pay to cash only. You have to have an old card lying around to pay or cash. And also I always find myself being helped with trainees, I guess they kept changing people working in here. I'll take my business elsewhere where debit cards are accepted. LOVE love love this place!!! it's far out of my way, but on the way to and or from the Santa Anita Mall, i stop by. if you go during the day, there are no lines, you're in and out, and there is lots of seating, the staff is friendly and nice, and you get your drink and you're on your merry way!! UNLESS you get there later in the day, then it's just as packed as the one in MP. You can call ahead to get your order placed, you have to order at least 10 dollars in order to place an order. i have tried the Almond Milk tea *my fav* with Honey Boba and Pudding. i also like the Ice milk with Caramel and pudding and boba. i tried the almond coffee milk tea, that one was a bit too strong for my taste. we tried the toast once, it was nice and buttery, but just a small morsel. would come back to this place again and again!! read more

Also, a regular is quite large and I always get super stuffed after having one. I've been here twice now and the first time was later in the evening and it wasn't so crowded but the second time was. It wasn't overwhelmingly crowded though. The vibe was pretty chill. Staff is super friendly and on point with distributing orders so my drink didn't take too long. First time at this place and I was not disappointed. Despite the long line (almost out the door) and the wait, I was definitely able to satisfy my craving for milk tea. It is not as sweet as the usual places I go and was very refreshing. I got the honey milk black tea and my boyfriend got the oolong milk black tea with pudding. Both were great and I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the flavors. The honey milk tea only has a hint of honey flavor. The drinks are pretty good but my main complaint is thr size of the cold drinks don't fit in any car cup holder. When I asked if they had one. The girl told me there's one for hot drinks which look standard size for the cup holder. I asked if I can have my cold drink put into the hot drink cup, she said they couldn't do it, that it was for hot drinks only. I asked if I can have can have a hot cup, she consulted with someone else and said yes and added $1 to my order for the empty cup. I told her to forget about it then.
