Don was especially good at communicating and being available to answer any of my questions. He managed his team closely and kept them on track, while doing quality work on a complicated project. Don was also very prompt in billing, unlike previous experiences in Big Bear where getting an invoice can be like pulling teeth. I am very happy with the work Don and his team did, and the way in which he handled the job.

I interviewed half a dozen contractors and they were either not qualified enough for the job, or were not interested because they felt that the project is too challenging, or were too expensive. Gregory was the guy that checked all the boxes. His rates were reasonable, he was definitely qualified, and was not scared to take on a tough job. Needless to say, he did an outstanding job and was on time. Greg is also very easy to work with and communicates well throughout the project. Communication was extremely important because this was my first construction project at this scale, and Greg explained very well the technical parts and worked closely with me and the engineer. He also helped with acquiring permits. No matter the size and complexity of your project, Greg is one of your top choices in the area! I look forward to working on more projects together!

He walked us through the timeline and process of an electrical panel upgrade, 220V run to our spa, EV charger install, aided in spa placement to meet code requirements, and in addition to all that, he tackled numerous electrical jobs inside and below our home from inspection reports. He always gave us as thorough timelines as he could, considering code enforcement, permitting process, and BVES inspections can be unpredictable. Matt handheld us through many difficult processes and had much patience while my wife and I were dealing with an overwhelming amount of time-sensitive issues involving multiple repairs in the purchasing of our home. He provided multiple in-depth estimates when he said he would, had great advice on all fronts, and he also acts as a general contractor. We will definitely hire Matt for any future work, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Gilligan construction was recommended to us by our property manager. Brian came out to diagnose a…read morewater intrusion issue that another contractor either created or exacerbated when replacing our water main and then would not come out to fix their own work. He found the issue quickly and recommended some permanent fixes to keep the water from getting in under the foundation and into our build up and then lower level / storage closet after big rain storms or heavy snowfall. Brian was very communicative and transparent about the whole process. The pricing for the project was very reasonable. His crew retrenched the line, moved the stop and waste valve, installed a French drain, added a retention wall, and did several other things to thoroughly mitigate the water intrusion. They finally laid a cement pad in the front of the house to replace the original deck and to further keep water away from the foundation. Very pleased with the result and the timing in which they were able to complete the project. Daniel and the rest of the crew were very responsive, friendly, and were always available to answer any questions I had. I couldn't be happier and am confident that we wont have any issues moving forward with water intrusion at the front of our cabin. Thank you to everyone at Gilligan Construction!

He was the only roofer who came out that I trusted to fix it right. Other roofing companies came in slightly lower on the bid but it was obvious they would not be fixing it right and it would be a waste of money. James came in right around what I thought it would cost. He did a lot more than I expected. He not only addressed the poor design he also replaced all the roof vents and a solar tube light. James did not try to add any last minute charges and what he quoted is what I paid. I inspected the work as he did it and I did not have any complaints. I couldn't be any happier with the work they did. These guys are very good at what they do and when it comes to redoing my entire house they will be getting my business. It is very hard to find a good contractor in Big Bear. If you need any roofing repair or replacement I fully recommend them. Take a look at the photos others have posted and you will see the quality of their work. They don't take any short cuts. They do it right the first time.
