I have a morbid fear of anything medical. Was requested to have an ultrasound done at Halo Diagnostics in Indian Wells. It is like walking into a posh hotel--the place is absolutely immaculate right down to the toast cornered toilet paper in the ladies room. But the staff, OMG! Absolutely the kindest, gentlest, and most professional medical staff... And the gal who gave me my ultrasound, (Krista) could not have been nicer or more reassuring. I am a retired firefighter paramedic. I have had numerous MRIs,CT SCANS, ultrasounds etc. at numerous facilities. (Mostly Northern California where I worked)I have never had such a fabulous experience as I did here.. First of all,my doctor requested an MRI yesterday. They called me this morning and fit me in today. Unbelievable! The girl on the phone was super nice and very accommodating. When I got there, I was greeted warmly and seen promptly. I wish I could remember the name of my technician. She was fantastic! Really fantastic. I had to have an MRI of my humerus and she had to get me in some funky positions. It took a long time. She was patient, always making sure I was doing OK and had a wonderful personality. Give this girl a raise! She really loves her job.If I ever have to have another MRI I will make sure I come back here. I cannot recommend this business highly enough. read more

I had both A CT Arthrogram and an MRI done at this facility. Everybody from the receptionist to the techs to the Doctors where very pleasant, friendly and professional.The CT technician explained the process thoroughly. Doctor Feller explained the Arthrogram injection procedure step by step. The MRI Technician explained the procedure and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. This facility is easy to get to off HWY 111, clean and actually bigger than I expected. I would definitely recommend this facility and caring staff. read more

Had an appointment with my doctor 12 days AFTER I had my ankle MRI. Had to reschedule my appointment for results because, after almost 2 weeks, my MRI report was not ready for my doctor. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. read more

Aside from the typical paperwork, wait times and MRI discomfort, the staff was professional and the facility was clean. My request for a copy of the CD took less than 10 minutes. This was the most thorough MRI write-up I have ever seen, i.e., Indications, Technique, Findings and Conclusions, (2) pages. Felipe Espinoza MD dictating for John F. Feller MD. My feeling is that an MRI is only as good as the doctor who knows how to read it. read more

I had to go for a contrast CT scan. It being a three-hour drive from my home I'm not able to drink a lot of fluids before getting there. This made it very difficult for them to start the IV to put the iron in me. I ended up really bruised and sore for days after. On the flip side Amy is amazing. She's a very nice woman that knows her job. She suggested I come back the following morning after hydrating instead of poking me a thousand times. she knew she couldn't get the vein so she did not want to cause me any pain or discomfort. Amy was not the one that bruised me, I don't recall the supervisors name that tried to get the IV started. I do know that everyone in that office that I had contact with was really fantastic. Because of the inability to get the IV started, I did decide to spend the night in Palm Desert. Hydrated all afternoon and night went back the following morning and got it taken care of within less than 30 minutes. Thank you Amy for a job well done. read more

I'm here now for CT scan appt it is for 9am it's 9:15. I let them know and they said I will go back shortly. They didn't apologize for the delay. I got here early filled out all the paperwork. I'm not happy with my experience so far. I didn't get taken back until 9:20. The staff that work in the front didn't say anything to me when i left, to say thank you for coming in or anything. They were friendly when I got there. The tech that did the scan was great. read more

What a horror show. We had an appt. for Wed. afternoon. They called at 6PM Tue night, and pled that they were very packed on Wednesday, so could we do the scan tonight at 7:30? It was a hassle, but my sister was in pain, so we decided, OK, let's just get it done, we'll come in at 7:30. We were finally admitted at about 8:10. When my sister, who all the time was in obvious agony, politely complained, the receptionist said, "Well, you were late." "WHAT?? We were NOT late. We got here at 7:30." "You were told to come in 15 minutes early to fill out the paperwork." We all 3 were pretty outraged, as we were told nothing of the kind, and we had gone through all this trouble to get there--for DMI's benefit, not ours. My sister's boyfriend--who's 82, about 5'5, legally blind, and had just had a cataract operation that very morning, so had this large apparatus over his eye (ie, was no threat to anybody)--made the mistake of holding up his finger in righteous admonition--and this snotty snippet of a rude receptionist threatened to call the technicians in on him(!) The scanning guy was obviously in a mad rush to get out of there. In my experience, this kind of complete bollix doesn't happen unless lax procedures and bad attitude are every day occurrences, and are well tolerated at the top. read more

Professional imaging center on Hwy 111 just past Indian Wells. It has easy parking and convenient location on first floor easy to walk into. Staff friendly and make you feel comfortably. Easy to get appointments and they have all the high tech equipment for testing. The doctors have good communications with your referring physician and results delivered quickly back. first & foremost I hate doctors offices to the full extent. I hate needles, blood the whole 9 yards. I don't like how long doctors visits are, but I can for sure say this was my first time being in a doctors office in and out within 30 minutes. I got a contrast CT scan on my neck and Melinda the doctor who worked with me was 100% professional she made the whole process 10x easier for me mentally & physically made me feel comfortable 10/10 experience for me. read more

I chose this location based on the reviews my doctor sent me in to have a ultrasound done to insure my baby was in my uterus and not in my tubes the ultrasound tech lady called me in and from that moment she appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance I did not want to go by assumption so I proceeded to the ultrasound room as she was doing my ultrasound she was dozing off a total of three times at that point I told her I would like to end the session and this ultrasound was very important this determined where my baby was I called the next day to speak to management I left a message and nobody ever called back I would advise nobody going there for an ultrasound this lady is supposed to be aware of what she is seeing on her screen to deliver accurate information this was so unprofessional read more

Had two MRIs here and the entire staff were so nice and helpful. I barely had a chance to sit down, when they called me back. Everything was so clean and pleasant. The gal running the machine was wonderful. Walked me through everything and made sure I was comfortable and informed every step of the way. All of my nervousness was for not. I endured an unnecessary one and a half hour wait time tonight with varying explanations. The night tech said the machine broke down , the receptionist said they had a problem with a patient . So total nonsense. As I sit here now the girls are chatting away and I am sitting here still waiting. If the scan is readable it will be a miracle. Avoid this place and go to the Eisenhower. Very disappointing. Had to wait two hours to be seen. They told me arrival time 9:30am for registration my appointment was at 10am. They told my ride I would be done at 11:30 am . They called me in at about 10:30, changed to a gown and was waiting for half an hour. I asked the gentleman at the front how much longer since it was 11am already and my ride would be there I. Half an hour. He then went in to ask when I was going to be given the injection and how long was it going to take. He came back and apologized to me for the delay and said the procedure and the MRI were going to take about one hour. The doctor giving the injection asked me a questioned and walked out as I was answering ( not very professional). He came back and proceeded with the information about the injection. He put in the needle and walked out again. Came back and told me there was a glitch with the scanner that was guiding the needle. It was then administered I got up, he asked me his I felt and then went for my MRI with contrast. Got done with the MRI and the lady that did it was nice but never told me I had to drink lots of fluids to flush the contrast out. I overheard when they told the previous patient. She showed me the way to my locker. I the front they asked me if I wanted them to call my ride I said I would call ( they were supposed to do it beforehand) I waited outside because I just needed to cry. It was not a good experience. I will never go back and don't recommend it either. read more

Not many places will allow self referral. Halo does. This was helpful as I have not yet picked a primary care doctor and felt like I am a intelligent enough to find a qualified operator. On top of that, I was able to get an appointment quickly given the pain I was in with my shoulder. I didn't have to wait too long in the waiting room and the lab tech (Les) was empathetic despite being on a tight schedule. (When they ask are you claustrophobic, they mean it!). The best part is the work done by the team after I survived 20 minutes of banging magnetic cameras in my ears. I was warned it might take 3 to 5 business days for the radiologist to issue a report. However, it was ready on the morning of the 2nd business day, which also was clutch since I had an appointment with the MD to get treatment. I want to complement Nancy Z and Elizabeth in the back office who promptly were able to get me the right documents and restored my faith in the often faceless people who work behind the scenes, keeping the machinery of the business working smoothly. I was very happy with the service and will recommend to anyone. read more

This is a review I placed on their website which is under patient and "review". I am writing to let you know about my experience, yesterday Feb 28, 2018. A really nice lady by the name of Denise did a great job setting my appointment for an MRI. Her instructions were very clear and concise regarding drugs to be stopped 3 days prior to the exam, the need for a driver, etc. When I showed up yesterday for a blood exam (that Denise explained perfectly) the folks on the front counter acted like I was from Mars. I explained my reason for being there...Denise said there was blood lab just around the corner from their office that would take care of the blood exam for the MRI the next day. Your front end counter people sent me to the lab. The folks at the blood lab had no order for a blood test. I returned to your facility and was told they knew nothing about it. Seriously?? So, I basically wasted my time that day and the next day because I couldn't have the MRI without the blood exam. YOUR facility had your MRI down (no exam for me) for 2 hours due to their ineptitude. Denise called me apologizing profusely. I have re-scheduled my exam for 4PM March 6. I'm pretty sure your radiologist will be putting in some over time that day...all because of your front end staff not knowing what was happening in your office. I'd like to make a suggestion regarding your front end folks...provide an IQ test before you hire them. read more

Over the past several years I have required a number of prostate MRI's which were performed at UCLA and other highly rated radiology suites in the Beverly Hills area. More recently I had an MRI guided prostate biopsy at Desert Medical Imaging in November 2016 as well as a follow up prostate MRI in July 2017. I am also scheduling another prostate MRI with them for later this month. I can say without hesitation that the skills demonstrated by Wes, the lead MRI technician at DMI, as well as the surgical and diagnostic skills of the late Dr. Stuart May and Dr. John Feller far exceed anything I have experienced from any other radiology facility in Southern California, bar none. They are professional, knowledgeable, dedicated, easy to work with, up to date on the latest technological and medical advancements in their field, and readily accommodated my need for minimal in-house sedation to address my claustrophobia, which has always been a serious issue with me at other facilities. They put my needs and concerns first, assured me that they would take care of me and then followed through on their pledge. They are true professionals and I consider myself lucky to have found a group of dedicated professionals like this. Indeed they are so good at what they do that I encourage friends and associates in the Los Angeles area to consider driving the 140 miles down to the desert for their radiology needs. Appropriate imaging and the ability to correctly analyze and read findings can make all the difference in ones health and unexpectedly finding this in an out of the way place in the desert community is most unusual, and gratifying. As a patient, I have used most of the imaging services provided by desert medical imaging. These include orthopedic and solid organ MRI, including biopsy needle guided MRI of the prostate. I have also had a nuclear medicine scan at DMI by PET. Its facilities are attractive, the scheduling is easy, the exams are on time and the staff, at every level, are caring and professional. The radiologists' examination reports are very detailed, comprehensive and offer the requesting physicians recommendations regarding next steps. My doctors prefer DMI, and as a patient, I will not go any ware else. read more
