Our favorite brewery!! Located in historic Lake City. First time there enjoyed the unique location with live music. This time we went downstairs and watched the Jaguar game with other local fans. Do not leave without ordering a cheese board! Eat like a native, the petite serves 2-4 and only $12! The pimento cheese and chicken salad is my favorite on the board. Pretiola-serves 2-4,$15. Very very large portion! The pretzel is soft, salty, and delicious. Dip in either the Bavarian mustard or queso. You won't be disappointed with either. Mustard is my favorite and I was surprised! The Smokey cheese lips with the sausage was another favorite of mine. read more

One of my favorite places to visit and review are brewery tap rooms. Halpatter Brewing was no exception. I could start and finish this review in one sentence, but I don't think it would do them justice. This would be the sentence- I walked up to the bar and ordered Satan's Panties. That is all. But, that would leave out the very friendly/super cool orange rescue cat they have running around. The awesome beers, the meat, fruit, cheese, and bread boards. The tables and chairs in the upstairs rooms are very cool and someone spent some serious time welding. The folks running it are very cool and one of the beer specialists guys had a beard which should make many men envious. All in all, if you live in lake city and like beer you should go visit and tell them I sent you. They have no idea who I am, but it will make them wonder. If you live in Gville or surrounding area it's worth the drive. That's if you consider yourself worthy of good beer. Again, tell them I sent you. They still won't know who I am, but maybe they will by the next time I go in for some great beer. read more

What a great place at a great location. They make some fantastic beers here. They also carry many other craft beers from local breweries. There is a large drinking room upstairs and a patio with outdoor games downstairs. This is a place to drink beer. The menu is very simple with different charcuterie boards offered. I haven't had one yet but they look amazing. The restrooms are old but clean. There is ample parking in a public lot on the North side of the building. The decor upstairs is very interesting. I'll let you sort it out for yourself and not let my opinion taint anything. The barstools are built like no other bar stool I've sat on. They are amazingly heavy. Once the tables fill up it can get quite loud in the upstairs room. There are other side and back rooms that are available for special events. read more

Popped in here on a road trip to Tallahassee. It is right by a lake in an old Historic School Board building. They have a few large rooms for events, a vintage foosball table and a large outdoor space with a faux stage set up. Now lets get to the beers. I had the Wildberry Sour and it was nice, sour with a touch of sweetness. I had to get a four pack to go; i also had the The Big Hal Brown Ale. A bold flavored dry hopped brown alw. Enjoyed that with my meat and cheese plate. Lindsay explained all the beers and was happy to chat about them as well. Good place for family fun or a visit on your own. read more

Interesting place. Looks really nice but hard to figure out. Front door was locked so I almost walked away until someone else coming in said to go into the outside entrance around the corner. Very friendly staff and some good beers. Website mentions all kinds of food. However, the downstairs area I'm in has no mention whatsoever about food! I guess they are relying on locals but us first time visitors are at a loss. Heading someplace else for lunch as I don't believe they have food here. read more

First off I will say that I road trip and lot, and when I do, breweries are ALWAYS on the list of places to stop. So I have been to my fair share of places and while each one is unique Halpatter definitely stood out. First off is the venue, it is located in an old Dept of Transportation building, it has a govt building feel to it when you walk up the long flight of steps into the main door. It is an impressive view. A long bar greeted me when I walked in the door and the server was very helpful about suggestions, also every beer I asked about had a story behind it, to some it may not matter but to me, it added depth to the experience. I ordered a beer, walked past a few rooms that had games and went outside to their downstairs open-air bar, and watched some college football. There was an outdoor area with a stage that had a band setting up. There were definitely a lot of options of where to enjoy my beer. They did have a nice variety of beers on tap, they do brew some beers during certain times of the year, some of the darker ones they release in colder months. From the staff, to the beers, and it being a great place to hang out, I loved it. If I am west of Jacksonville I definitely will return. read more

After a few months of picking up delicious growlers of Halpatter Brewing from local brewpubs in Tallahassee, we finally made our way to the source! The building is really cool and super spacious. There is an upstairs, downstairs, private event space, massive outdoor area equipped with fire pits, a ping pong room and game room with cozy seating. Everything felt very clean and people were respectful of space. But more importantly, delicious beer! We tried a flight of the False Alarm Watermelon, This Close, an Irish red ale, and grabbed a few cans of the Golden Ticket. The sours are very crisp and refreshing. I think there is a nice mix of brews for all (of course we go for the sours and IPAs), decent sized wine list, and hand crafted soda. In addition to the amazing beverages, the food menu is pretty awesome and staff were equally helpful and friendly. Charcuterie boards, pressed sandwiches, chipotle peach pizzas...you just can't go wrong here! We hope to make it out again soon for a tour and longer stay. If you are passing by Lake City and like craft beer, you must make a pit stop here. read more

Took a trip up to Lake City with my buddy Mike to check out Halpatter Brewing- and this place exceeded all of my expectations! We could not find a beer that we didn't like. Several flights to get a good sample of all their brews. My favorite was their Hazy IPA. The location is an old school that has been renovated to provide a very cozy setting I gotta with tons of fun things to see and do. Ping pong and foos ball tables inside. With multiple fire pits outside , plenty of places to get comfortable on cooler nights. Great little stage for live music acts. We will definitely be being more Gainesville friends up to Halpatter Worth the drive! read more

TLDR: Pretty solid beers at Lake City's first brewery. As a Gator alum, it's always great to see Gainesville and surrounding areas get more and more into the craft beer scene. While Gainesville has had some breweries for awhile, Lake City finally got theirs not too long ago in Halpatter late in 2017. Located in downtown Lake City, Halpatter has a nice spot for its brewery in one of the historic two story buildings. If you don't end up using Lyft, Uber, etc. here, there is a decently sized parking lot across the street from the entrance. Halpatter seems to be family friendly as I saw some kids in the tap room and if you have a dog, they are allowed on the patio. When I went in late December, Halpatter had 16 total taps, which is a good amount to have for any brewery. Most of them were Halpatter beers, but there were some guests taps on from a variety of breweries, including Sweetwater, Infinite Ale Works, Coppertail, and Funky Buddha. In case you can't commit to just one beer, you do have the option for flights/tasters, which gives you four small pours. I personally went with: - Big Hal (imperial brown ale) - 16 Springfields (double IPA) - Old Sugar Britches (rye beer) - No Crusts (Funky Buddha's brown ale) Overall, I thought the beers were pretty solid. Not necessarily the best I've ever had for each style, but certainly respectable. I'm sure as they continue to brew more beer, their beers should continue to get even better. For a brewery not even two years old, there's potential at Halpatter. Give it a try if you're in Lake City! read more

This is my favorite brewery in Lake City. To be fair, it has NO competition, quite literally. Regardless, it's a beautifully restored 2 story building with gorgeous chandeliers made by a local artist and great industrial chic touches everywhere. The beers are great, with plenty of new stuff dropping in every time we visit. Big Hal is my fav standard offering, a big dry hopped American brown ale. Menu is small and well curated, any of the charcuterie plates are well worth your hard earned cash. Beer prices are fair and there are always a few very good guest taps, along with a house made soda for the DD's or childrens. Grab a growler to go! read more

We stopped by this brewery for lunch today. Service was good, very clean facility with LOTS of space and is even dog friendly! My wife was pleased with her meal of hummis & naan but my BBQ sandwich seemed very light on the meat for the price. We noticed several "boards" with pizza and meat/cheese combinations that looked quite interesting, will have to try one of them next time around. read more

Cool spot. Didnt know if I was going to like any if the beers because Im a blonde ale drinker but their o'leno was enjoyable plus they had my fave wine rosa by san sebastian winery in st augustine. My husband liked its extra trendy and also hammerknocker. (Thats all we had time to try) super perk is the cool ping pong table. They also said they have outdoor lawn events at times but we live in orlando and were just passing thru. Good place to break up a drive. Staff is nice and a pleasure to talk to. My husband and I were in town this weekend visiting Lake City. Our hotel concierge recommend Halpatter and we're so glad they did! My husband had a delicious cider and I had the blackberry moscato which was divine. Since we weren't in a rush, we sat on the balcony listening to the band, then ventured back inside to play table tennis and then explored the tap room on the first floor which also had an tic-tac-toe game that entertained us for a while. I have seen all the rave reviews about this place and since I live locally I thought I would give it a try last night. I was with my husband and 4 others. The atmosphere was great, love the historic charm of the building and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the wine and beer. My only issue with this place is I have never been anywhere that served their key lime pie warm. Well my body seemed to agree that it should never be served warm. I got sick within 20 minutes of eating it (vomiting in the parking lot) and continued to be sick for the rest of the evening. Now my husband and I ate the same thing for dinner (brisket pizza and loaded pretzel bites). Our friends had loaded pretzel bites and the white spring pizza. None of them fell ill. Naturally then the only thing we could think of was the pie. My husband plans on calling and speaking with someone just to make them aware what happened. It was just so disappointing. We were excited to come here on the one night we had a sitter and it did not end well. We have no plans on returning and neither do the 4 people we had with us. read more
