The best! Seriously, I've been coming here for a few years. I can't believe I never left a review until now. Their menu has such a variety and the quality of the meat is spectacular! My go to is the Ham Burrito, cut in half and one salsa. Everything is made to order, fresh. The salsa is also made daily. The staff is so very nice; I really love the owners, they're hands on and care about the food they serve, customers and quality. If you come often enough, they'll know you by name. Such a little gem and I hope they continue to thrive and keep putting out amazing and delicious food! read more

My boyfriend and I were told about Ham 'n Scram from a good friend of ours since we recently moved pretty close by. We finally had the chance to stop by after our pup's training class, as we were both starving, and Ham 'n Scram did not disappoint! It's definitely a hidden gem - hole in the wall type place, but do NOT let that discourage you! Despite being a small shop, there is good reason they've been around 12+ years! You're greeted immediately upon entering, with a staff who seems genuinely friendly (which is always refreshing). The menu is simple and straightforward and easy to read. We both got the double meat burrito, which also includes grilled bell peppers and onions inside as well. The burritos were pretty average priced for breakfast burritos, and were a great portion size! I couldn't even finish mine. The burrito itself is packed and flavorful, and they provide both salsa & ketchup on the side as well. The woman working even came out to bring us our food as we were waiting outside, which I didn't expect but definitely appreciated! They take pride in their business, service, and food, and it shows in a great way! read more

So lovely! The lady behind the counter was the nicest person I could have met to brighten my morning. They let me try a sample of the split pea soup and it was something I have to go back for, as well as the breakfast sandwich. I had the burrito, it was a very, very good . I will not pass up on the opportunity to get a delish to go meal when I'm in town! read more

I was a little concerned because they charge a tad more than some places. But once I was handed my hefty order, I could see why. Every bite was full if meaty chuncks and NOT crammed with a lot of filler rice &/or potatoes like some places. The added jalapeños requested were enough to add kick but not tears. The friendly, cool dude at the counter provides a happy vibe to start your day too! read more

The staff is nice, but there's nothing special that I was able to find about their food. I was able to take a peek into their kitchen, and it looked dirty. Their menu says "all prices include tax," but I was charged tax. I thought honesty was always the best policy. read more

If you're looking for that family-owned business to get the most value for your meal, this is THE place! The soups are amazing, if you don't believe me ask for a sample of the split pea or bean recipes - they're both delicious! When I don't feel like cooking breakfast, or, if I wake up late, or, heck, I feel like treating myself to a filling breakfast, Ham 'n Scram is my go-to place! I mean, who else is open at 5:30 in the morning?? Aside from the fast food giants, anyway. I prefer helping out small businesses, because they got screwed the hardest during the pandemic, and Ham 'n Scram is one of the small businesses I patronize. The Original Breakfast Burrito is filling in and of itself, but, if you're craving more fillings, the Double Meat Burrito is a bigger, more stuffed version of The Original Breakfast Burrito. Oh, and did I mention how good their salsa is? It'll definitely clear your lungs, while adding to the deliciousness of their burritos. Not a fan of breakfast burritos, but still crave what's inside of their burritos? Try the Breakfast Bowl, or the Double Meat Breakfast Bowl. If you'd prefer to leave room in your digestive tract, but still want something delicious, go for their Breakfast Sandwich. Call ahead so your food will be ready by the time you reach the place to save yourself some time. The folks there are always super nice, so make sure to tip generously! read more

This place has great food but they messed up our entire order, one burrito order was no meat but it had ham in it, another burrito was supposed to have no onion but it was full of onions, and one was supposed to have no bell peppers but it had bell peppers in it. We happened upon this place three years ago. I was 6 months pregnant and soon after trying it, it was my #2 pregnancy craving. We've been coming regularly ever since even though we live 20 mins away by freeway! Worth the drive! I always get the wrap and it's just the perfect size. My husband always gets the breakfast burrito and says it's the best. Also the perfect size. Forrest and his family/team are the kindest people. So sweet. I love their soup as well. The corn chowder is my favorite but also love the split pea. We're moving further away and this is the spot we will miss the most. Whenever we come back to OC, this will always be one of the first places we go to. read more

The day I came into Ham 'n Scram, it was destiny...I stopped in for a quick bite while working and my car had some Michigan dealer plates, so that's the first thing that the owner, Forrest picked out as soon as he saw me park. I didn't notice, but he had a Michigan plate on his wall, as he was ALSO from Michigan. First thing I showed him was my driver's license, which clearly shows that I was born and partially in Michigan...you'd know if you know me. Anyway, again...destiny, haha. Down to the food....I told him that I had never been here and that I was hammerin for a breakfast burrito and that I had come to the right place. So I ordered the original bfast burrito, complete with ham, bacon, and sausage. Saw that you can double up on the meat, but I wasn't that hungry that day. Burrito arrived in decent time (not that packed), cut in half already, which I always like, and served with a side of salsa. The Burrito was great, loved every bite. I can't imagine what the double-burrito might be like, but maybe one day...til then I'll do the regular bfast burritos. I came again after that and had the ham and scram muffin, and OMG, blasphemy I know, but I actually liked it better than the burrito! I could've had 2 or 3 of these suckers...basically, it was just bacon and ham with egg and cheese on a toasted English muffin, but it was so dog gone good. They have Christmas/holiday hams here and if it wasn't so far from my house, I might order from them...heck I still might, cuz I just like this place that much. Service - EXCELLENT. Forrest is friendly, always is quick with suggestions and as friendly as they get. Love having a word with this guy whenever I'm in, and he really remembers his customers, he remembered me the second time I went already. Awesome. Parking - Decent, stripmall/plaza parking, so not to hard to find a spot. When there are quite a few people, the orders can back up, so if you're in a rush, call ahead, but if you have time to sit and have some coffee and chat...I highly recommend it! read more

I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. My friend ordered four original breakfast burritos for pick up. When we got to the place, they were ready to be picked up. The place was more of a takeout place. There's some seating but not much. The burritos were huge and packed full of ingredients. There's ham, bacon, egg, hash brown, peppers, onions, and cheese. The ingredients are fresh and they're made to order. The staff were nice and helpful. The prices were not bad considering the large portion. I would definitely come back here for breakfast and try their other burritos. read more

Good service and amazing food! I think this is one of my favorite burrito spots in OC. It's a small hole in the wall spot. At first glance, I thought the burritos were small and was not going to fill me up- man was I so WRONG. I couldn't finish half of the burrito! They packed it with delicious things that made me stuffed! Burritos are reasonably priced considering they are a small company. (Remember, it's a small independent company you guys, hard work and effort take place into making these breakfast burritos). Don't forget to pair your burritos with the salsa they make! Such a good pairing- not too spicy and not too bland! I'll always be a returning customer with a very hungry tummy! Amazing job, guys! Keep it up! :) read more

Ham 'n scram is a family-owned restaurant established in 2010 by father-son duo Forrest and Jeremy Frederick. The menu is deliciously simple with premium quality bone-in smoked ham featured in the signature dishes. Enjoy breakfast available all day with the original breakfast burrito, breakfast plates, breakfast sandwiches and the unique ham cakes (like crab cakes only better 'cause it's ham). Ham 'n scram's lunch menu features handcrafted sandwiches and house-made soups including the specialty split pea.

Meet the Business Owner: Forrest F.

Forrest, the Man with the Plan, is a local Orange County Resident for over 20 years having moved here from Michigan in 1987. Forrest has a sales background selling Communication Equipment and Conferencing solutions for over 25 years. In travels throughout Southern California and the Western States, he noticed that quality ham offerings were missing from most restaurant and sandwich shop menus. Forrest loves to eat good food and enjoyed a small sandwich shop in the Detroit area that specialized in ham & corned beef sandwiches with two soups. Simple, right? That offering was the genesis of Ham 'n Scram, a simple menu offering with ham as the centerpiece. Forrest has no restaurant experience, but loves daily contact and interaction with people, in a sales role. So, with limited start-up funds, Ham 'n Scram was launched in September 2010 in Westminster, CA and has been growing since. Forrest didn't know the restaurant business, but knew people everywhere like good food at a fair price.

The Spicy Miso Carbonara was one of my most favorite items and probably one of the most memorable for me. The menu has such a wide variety that it's easy for different palates to choose from. There's plenty of parting in the plaza, only thing to be aware of is the 1 hour limitations for the spots. Definitely will be coming back when I'm in the area. We got a good amount of dishes to try out and share as a group Calamari- Solid but nothing too special Miso Bacon Carbonara- noodles were good, creamy base Gochujang Pork Belly- probably my favorite! tender bits of pork! Steak- good but a bit pricy from how much you get, need additional sides to go with it Crudo- refreshing but small portions Overall, nothing stood out to me crazy for me to run back. However I would come back if it was suggested by friends. A bit pricey in terms of their portion size so you do have to order a lot. Great spot to have date night as the restaurant itself is pretty and intimate.

You order at the counter, and they'll either provide you with a pager or a number to place on your table. They have both booth, raised both, and table seating available. Utensils, napkins, and water are self-serve. When your food is ready, someone will bring your food out to you. I like getting their Personal Meals because they're filling and seem pretty balanced overall! I usually get the salmon with lemon garlic. You can also get it with a sesame glaze. The salmon was a little dry this time, but I did appreciate the chunks of garlic. Each Personal Meal comes with two breadsticks and your choice of a garden/Caesar salad or side. I like getting their Caesar salad! I also tried some of the Tri Tip and 1/4 Grilled Chicken Personal Meal. The Tri Tip comes with BBQ or pepper garlic with gorgonzola butter, and the chicken comes with BBQ or lemon garlic. I think the Tri Tip goes well with the BBQ sauce. You can also get more BBQ sauce from the self-serve pump if you want extra. The chicken with lemon garlic was pretty tasty as well. We were met with the owner and his wife who were taking orders, and serving food, rushing all over the place to get orders. I can tell this seems like a small mom and pop establishment. I assumed it may take a while to be seated and have food bc it seemed that busy but we were seated quickly, ordered in a timely manner and the food even came out at the perfect time. Despite the rush, we were served on time and with respect We ordered the Lao sausage, ribeye laab (very spicy), roti, and the coconut juice. The plating is very authentic to Thai/Lao style which I loved. The food is 10/10. It's soo good we brought our parents here!! Because they were out of the coconut icecream, the owner gave us free Pandan mango sticky rice! This place reminds me of home. I am Hmong so a lot of Lao style food reminds me of Hmong food. I like the food here and came back 2x during my most recent trip to socal. This time around, when we ordered the steamed rolls (10 plates), we got one protein and added on another protein at an extra charge. We ended up with grilled pork and roasted pork belly. Both tasted great and their nuoc cham/mam is delicious. I was satisfied both times and shared it with another person. Customer service is still excellent, despite them getting really busy on weekends. The first time we went, it was lunch time in the middle of the week so they were not busy at all. The second time, was a weekend and almost all tables were full. They have enough tables to handle the rush. Overall, I recommend and we'll probably try this place almost Everytime I'm in socal.
