Valet parking was easy and convenient. Our only real complaint was that our room was a little warm, but when we mentioned it to the front desk, they quickly offered to come check it. We declined and opted for a portable fan they offered us as well, as we were only there one night, which helped a lot. Breakfast was good and definitely a nice perk before heading out for the day. The hotel also provides bikes for guests to use. We didn't realize this until later in our stay and wish we would have taken advantage of them! The location was probably one of our favorite things about this hotel. We felt safe walking around, and there are so many places you can easily get to on foot. The Library of Congress and U.S. Botanic Garden are only about a 7-minute walk away. There's also a Lime scooter rental area very close to the hotel if you want another easy way to get around DC. We would definitely stay here again!

The breakfast was varied and tasted good and had a lot of options to choose from. The people that work here are incredible. They are friendly, sincere, extremely helpful, and just all around nice people. make sure to tip your housekeeping, valet, etc. They deserve it. I'd say the price was about what was expected. The valet service was $50 a night which makes sense because not everyone will be using it since it's near the Metro and of course a person flying in could be coming in through a car service. We drove and the valet was hassle-free and actually while we were checking out, they brought the car out. It was super fast. our total bill for one night was around $250 in September 2026. Last-minute deals were cheaper, but we wanted to make sure to plan ahead. We did not hear any street noise while we were there. We were on the fourth floor. The water in the kitchen at sink and in the bathroom got really hot really fast, so just be careful, but it is much nicer to have water that is too hot that can be adjusted than to have slow or no hot water. And now for the cons. The first is the doorway from the room where the bed was to the area where the bathroom was, where I pictured my water bottle for scale. My water bottle is 8 inches tall, so as you can see, the doorway is about 24 inches across. I do not know how they get away with this because I believe the ADA compliance is 36 inches but regardless, there is no wheelchair that would get through there and I doubt even a walker would. I don't know if every room is like this, of course, but this room fails on that. There is a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, Keurig, and coffee cups, and water glasses and an ice bucket. There's no light in this area so we actually used our cell phone flashlights to be able to see at night for water refills and such. When I went in to take a shower in the morning, I stepped in, and the bottom of the tub was very slippery. I wondered why, and then as I was in the shower for maybe a minute I realized why. The drain is basically almost clogged, so all of my soapy water was lying in the bottom of the bathtub, and I don't believe it was properly cleaned and rinsed out from the last person - or it was, and that soapy water sat in the tub and made it slippery. That is disgusting. I see this more of a maintenance issue rather than housekeeping because if the drain is clogged housekeeping can't really clean it properly. There were two areas in the bathroom where the ceiling had been repaired because there had clearly been a leak from the floor above. There was a torrential rainstorm at about 11 o'clock the night we stayed and I was woken up by a very loud drip where the window was leaking into the room. I ended up putting our bathmat there because it was so much water coming in and it was so loud that I wanted to protect the carpet and stop the noise of the dripping. The bathroom sink faucet goes into one of those bowl type sinks that sits on top of the counter, and the faucet is so ridiculously close to the sink that I could barely fit my hand under it when I was washing my hands. I could not even wash my face because I couldn't get my hands to cup under the faucet to collect enough water to splash my face with. I think that when they built this place, there was a mismatch between bowl fixtures and faucet fixtures. I bet that is in every room. So, to sum up, this hotel has quite a few small drawbacks that add up to me giving it a pass whenever I might want to come back to Washington DC. It's very pretty, but the fundamentals of some of the things should be fixed before they worry about making it look good.

Logan Circle and Dupont Circle is very central to shops, great restaurants, and local LGBTQ nightlife, so it's super convenient. However, my lesser than stellar experience started upon check-in at the front desk, where I was informed they did not have the room type (Viceroy Studio King) I booked. What appeared to be a minor issue became more apparent once I entered the room... My second floor, double-bed, room was dark (only top-half windows on the second floor), and an accessible room. This meant many features provided in the Viceroy Studio King were not present: some decor, fully enclosed glass door shower, the nice green comfortable rug seen in most room pics, etc. - and some other features were added, such as a medical chair in the shower, a plastic curtain, among other selections. While it wasn't the end of the world by any means, it was not the experience I booked for a nice, relaxing stay at the Viceroy. Rather, it seemed I was provided the last available 'dud' room in the hotel that no one else wanted...when I went down to the front desk to ask for a different room - I was informed there was none other available and I could not be moved. After advocating for myself, I was begrudgingly offered that my amenity fee could be waived for the inconvenience. They also brought me an extra lamp. However, at check-out, there was no note for the waiving of the fee, and I was charged for it - luckily I noticed the charge prior to leaving and the staff was still able to refund the fee after re-explaining and advocating for myself regarding the issues experienced, yet again. Additionally, there were so few electrical outlets in the room - nothing by the desk so I couldn't plug in my laptop, and for the extra lamp, it was necessary to unplug the coffeemaker. While the front desk staff was friendly and helpful albeit with some challenges, this stay was just not what I expected given what I was looking forward to and what I had actually booked. I would still consider another stay here given the location and what I've seen from the other rooms on property and just hopefully get a different, better overall experience. Edit: post-stay, I filled out surveys that were part of routine follow-up emails from the hotel, and was informed I would hear from management regarding any issues shared. After no further response for three weeks, I reached out to the hotel once again. They simply acknowledged the frustration and nothing more. It seems that Viceroy, at least the Washington DC location, has lost what it means to be in guest hospitality. I did not have an opportunity to experience the pool as it's not open until Memorial Day. The fitness center, although small, has plenty to work with.

Upon arrival, Dayshea provided outstanding customer service and made me feel welcome from the moment I checked in. The hotel's location was excellent close to everything, and any major tourist attraction was just a short 10- to 15-minute Uber ride away. The housekeeping staff was amazing. My room did not initially have a microwave for reheating leftovers, but after I mentioned it, one was promptly delivered to my room. I also appreciated receiving two complimentary bottles of water each day. A thoughtful touch was the reusable water bottle provided in the room, which was perfect for taking along during my daily adventures. The hotel also features a convenient 24-hour snack store that guests can access and check out from on their own. As an added bonus, there is a wonderful French restaurant located right next door. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and look forward to staying here again on my next trip to DC.

It was clean, big, came with a mini fridge and a tiny bar area. I wouldn't recommend renting a car since there isn't a parking lot. I'm not too sure what the parking situation is like. There was a water faucet to refill your water bottle in the hallway..it may be me but I couldn't figure out how to turn it off LOL! I almost forgot to mention that there's a mini gym too. The next time I visit DC, I'd likely stay at the Hotel Madera again.

If you've been stressed from traveling, this makes you want to take a deep breath and let it all go. The front desk attendants were very helpful. Check-in was a breeze, they had me in a gorgeous king size room with a nice window view of the surrounding neighborhood, and prior to the conference they had accommodated a special request I had for my reservation. Everyone is very well-trained and customer focused. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed felt like a dream when I got into it every night and I slept well. There was a robe in the closet, a good 6 or 8 substantial hangers that I used to hang up my work clothes, several drawers including one that housed a personal safe, and a small refrigerator. I was a little baffled that in a room with a fridge there was not a small microwave to heat up any leftovers you might be refrigerating. I'm guessing it's possible to request one but I didn't ask. Nice little sitting areas throughout the room and a wonderful shower. Also nice little touches like a motion sensor soft light that comes on when you enter the bathroom, and a little aromatherapy roll-on on your bedside table. White Tea toiletries in the shower, so you can leave your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash at home. Those are on the wall and refillable, one of a number of sustainability features I noticed throughout the hotel. Another is a metal water bottle in your room that is yours to keep and refill throughout your stay at the hydration stations on every floor and throughout the hotel. We had a couple drinks at the beautiful lobby bar, and they were thoughtful enough to think of a couple mocktails that aren't just juice. We didn't eat there but everybody's food I saw looked very good. There is a Starbucks in the lobby that was seeing a lot of business. Tons of nice spaces to meet or relax or work throughout the lobby and the rest of the hotel. This space is very well-designed, especially for business. The conference rooms and all of the spaces on the conference floors were exactly what you needed them to be. Some really thoughtfully designed seating areas throughout if you need to take a call or get some work done. The primary thing that loses a star from me is that the sit-down meals at the conference were really not very good. They redeemed themselves with the more buffet-style meals including one especially good salad bar concept with minestrone soup. Overall this was really a great stay and a great conference venue.

Not knowing the circumstances of the sound if it was a malfunction or an emergency, I took to the stairwell because I was not receiving a response from any department. I attempted to contact the "800" number with my cell that was a loop. The short of it; Poor response, miscommunication and not being believed by the manager. The manager said he checked the phone system and it's functioning as normal. The manager stated he went to several rooms to check the theory. He insisted nothing was wrong. So in the end, I had him come to my room to "his" astonishment MY room phone didn't function as I said! He then became very apologetic. At that point, I was already offended so the apology was just a standard yeah yeah yeah. No sleep for 2 days!! Other things happened, but that would be too lengthy for this review. I was promised a refund. Let's see how that goes. Would I return? THAT WOULD BE A HARD NO!

The main lobby is grand and regal, while the ornate ballrooms are a reminder of the many presidents and prominent figures who have hosted important events here over the years. The rooms do feel somewhat dated in their look and feel, but in a historic hotel like the Mayflower, that old-world character is part of the appeal.
