For breakfast, this place is great. However, for any other meal, this place is not good. I ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich. What I got looked like Thanksgiving leftovers and incredibly dry turkey. The bread was also stale. In addition to leaving this place hungry, our waitress had serious attitude and received almost no tip from myself or my friend. Second time trying the Hampton Diner, the first was OK, nothing special. This time however was bad enough to spark a review out of me. Where to begin...dirty spoon, burnt bitter coffee, old curdled creamers, this place has it all! I ordered the cheese blintzes because I wanted something a bit lighter than flapjacks. The server asked me if I wanted warm fruit on top which was nice of them, but what I got was three smallish blintzes, no sour cream, and a filling that basically tasted like bland cottage cheese, all on a bed of shredded lettuce??! Who ever heard of serving a breakfast item on a bed of lettuce like it was a cheep Mexican dish? The crepe pastry was thick, gummy, and unappetizing. The "warm fruit" topping was simply cherry pie filling in a bowl they stuck in the microwave for a few. I couldn't even finish it. The food could not be more inconsistent. Something is always wrong. The woman at the front of the house with dark died red-black hair & glasses is very nasty. no way to host a business. Had 2 nasty comments to us as we waited to be seated with our older family members. We used to go here 3-5 times a week or more. We have slowly stopped going & I think we are done. You can order the same dish every time; and it comes out different & you let them know & they will argue with you that you are wrong. Also, expensive! read more

Hampton has a lot of improvement to make, the soups are all fantastic but their deli type sandwiches are dreadful. I had a corn beef Ruben I think it was so full of kraut and the corn beef was dry and gross like rubber. My friend had a roast beef on a roll that was hard not fresh and the meat was dry and over cooked. The prices are good, but you get what you pay for. If I go back it will only be for the soups. read more

I have eaten at this diner on many occasions. I think the food is great and decently priced. I think some of their catering options are a little pricey. It is your typical diner, with typical diner food. However, i would recommend this diner over others in the area. read more

This place has had a face lift but the one underling fact is that the quality of the food remains the same, "poor". I avoided this place for years but tried it recently. The visit reminded me why I stayed away. After all It is just a diner but how can you screw up omelets. Three strikes your out. Will newton every get a real diner. My husband and I went for breakfast.....as were were finishing up the table in front of us was being cleared by a bus boy.....he was putting the dishes and stuff in the tubs that were on a cart.....also on the cart was a small tub that he was putting the small containers of milk, jams, syrup etc in. One of the waitress came over and took the containers of milk, and jams out of this dirty bin put them on a plat and served them to another table...........OMG.......I will never eat there again.......so do you know where your little containers come from..........Ugggggg read more

Been to the diner a bunch of times and the food is great every time. the food came out fast and the staff were always friendly. the decor is classic diner and very clean. None of the staff ever stop they are always on the move. I do wish that they had WiFi, in this day and age everyone has free wifi. Stay away from the breakfast sandwich. They use the worst link sausage I've ever tasted. I wouldn't even call it sausage. Yuk!! The waitress informed me that they always use this link sausage but next time she would "try to remember that I didn't like it". Then brought me a take out container to take my leftovers home. I personally love diners and normally the wait staff is very friendly, but the food is average diner food. I normally get the chicken portobello on flat bread which is pretty good. The only thing is I went out with my boyfriend's family which is eight of us and I understand that its a big order, but the waiter messed up everything and argued with us when we asked him to fix it. He argued with my boyfriend's six year old sister which I thought was extremely disrespectful. read more

I dont ever write reviews, but something happened today which i find appalling. Recently I have been coming here about once a week, and all because of one waitress. The food is typical diner food, mediocre, and decent service unless you have Kat, the aforementioned waitress. Let me say that i have worked in the food industry long enough to know what every part of the restaurant staff goes through on a day to day basis, having experienced it all myself and that waitresses are the people i have the upmost respect for. Today, after having my weekly meal with Kat as my waitress, my boyfriend and I go to pay and i half jokingly mention to the host, a young man in his mid-late 20s with a tattoo on his left forearm, about how Kat should get a raise and he looks at me and says "Kat is lucky to have a job". Wait. WHAT?!!! Excuse me, but even if i dont like someone i am working with i KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT. Especially to customers! If it weren't for my favorite waitress i would never come back! Needless to say this utter lack of tact has left me thinking twice about bringing family from out of town in if Kat isn't there. Honestly. I am appalled. read more

I had a horrible experience in this diner. What happened? We sat for thirty minutes waiting for our food. When the food came out, the plates were blazing hot. My uncle and I knew that the plates sat under a heat lamp. We addressed the waitress in a polite manner and she lied to us saying that she brought the food out as soon as it was done thinking we were unaware. Additionally, the orders were messed up. Stopped in the other night with my wife for dinner and a drink. It's not often that you find customer service like this in our area. The service was top notch, incredibly fast, and everyone was friendly and genuine. Several vegetarian options on the menu, most of which are dairy free as well. I had a great experience eating here and will definitely be back. we live on the opposite side of the county but from now on when we think Diner, this is where we will be going. For dinner food it's pretty good. Not the best but not horrible either. I have noticed if want a normal lemon wedge it's 1.00 more. There is also less in the greek salad as well. As with everything else portions get smaller and prices get larger. read more

I have been to the Hampton Diner several times. The food is typical diner food--it's okay, nothing special. After what occurred during my last visit, I will not be returning. Bluntly put, the front-of-house manager/owner behaved like a tyrant. She was unfriendly and curt when seating us, but that's not unusual. However, while we were in our booth, we watched her stomp (yes, stomp!) past us, back and forth several times, huffing, stand with her hand on her hip, glaring at employees. This continued for several minutes. Her behavior was so over-the-top and hostile, it created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Whatever would make her think that her customers would want to witness this childish, unprofessional display? Customers deserve a peaceful dining atmosphere, and employees deserve to be treated civilly and professionally. (Suggestion: If you have a problem with an employee, take them aside, out of view of customers, and speak with them. Do not carry on like you did in front of customers.) read more
