Stayed here when we were at a baseball tournament with my two boys, The price was right and the area had alot of restaurants and stores in the surrounding area. Walking into the the lobby we were welcomed by a manager working behind the desk, he was polite and inviting and checked us in quickly with not issues. The lobby was clean and orderly with plenty of places to sit vending machines and a small store where you could buy water or sodas or anything you may have forgot to pack. Getting up to the room the room was very clean well stocked with towels and well lit and the beds were comfy. The hotel had pizza for the boys for the tournament, which was included that we didn't know about until we arrived, which is a nice little touch when you stay in these hotels for baseball tournaments. The hotel is very old and falling apart. Very specifically, the AC could not keep up and the bathroom ceiling was falling down due to a water leak that resulted in several inches of water covering the bathroom floor. It took 5 phone calls to reach a manager and then he was very upset that I asked for them to honor the guarantee that states if you are not happy you will receive a free night. I told him that if he would not honor the guarantee, that I would post the photos in my review. He said if you're going to try and blackmail me, then I'm going to find out where you work and do the same to you! I do not recommend this hotel. Save your time and go to the Marriott. read more

We visited in May 2021 when the lobby was undergoing a major construction project. We were not advised via their website that the main entrance would be closed, forcing us to use the side entrance near the pool. The entry was more of an emergency exit, where two people could not pass simultaneously, especially when bearing luggage. Nor did they advise guests that because of the renovation, there would be no hot food, and customers were expected to take their grab-and-go bags back to their rooms (luckily, there's a McDonald's across the parking lot with better breakfast offerings). Due to COVID-19, customers had to reserve times to use the fitness room, but there didn't seem to be any capacity limits at the indoor pool. To their credit, the staff was trying to make the best of a bad situation, with ongoing renovations, a full house, and limited housekeeping staff. We were provided unlimited bottles of water and the front desk gave us a bag of toiletries and a stack of extra towels when we opted out of housekeeping for the weekend. The location is close to the three major outlet malls but isn't ideal for a beach weekend, as it requires a long drive to the beach or to the shuttle stop before the canal. Nor is it pedestrian-friendly. You can walk next door to the McDonald's or the Royal Farms a block away (we nearly got clipped by a driver making a right turn), but there is no crosswalk to safely get across the highway to the alluring restaurants across the street. The parking lot is well-lit 24/7 to deter thefts, making the blackout curtains a useful feature. Just don't park near low-lying spots in the lot that will fill with water after a rain shower (unless you're already wearing beach flip-flops). read more

We've stayed at Hampton Inn in other locations in the past, and we trust the Hilton brand. We are loyalty members. However, the Rehoboth Beach location has been very disappointing. First, there was a leftover hairbrush and other debris on the floor when we checked in. Pretty gross- how do you miss that when cleaning the room?! The nail on the coffin - long hot day out and about, we wanted to shower before bed. The Shower doesn't work! You can take a bath but the switch to send water to the shower head was shot. Maintenance came up quickly and was friendly, which is good, but they couldn't do anything about it until the next day. Since we were staying only 1 night, this is not helpful. The young woman at the front desk was kind, helpful and tried to help. She sent us snacks and water as consolation for our inconvenience. It's nice of her given that they could not move us to a different room. However, $312 for 1 night for this?! Just awful. UPDATE: The Assistant Manager comped our one-night stay for the broken shower and debris in the room. Adding 2 stars to my initial review. read more

Too overpriced for what it is. The televisions do not work consistently, the remote controls for the television barely work at all. The staff let us know that is the functionality, and there's nothing to be done about it. The rooms are old, rundown, and embarrassing-- you would not want to host your family or friends here. The fold out "sofa bed" was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, it's basically a rack of hard metal springs with a fabric cover (no mattress or cushioning to speak of), it was a very unpleasant experience for our additional guest. The masking policy is nonexistent-- sometimes staff wore them, sometimes they didn't, and most guests didn't (during flu season). Overall it's too expensive. If you do an internet search for comparable properties you will find there's a newer, nicer hotel down the street. I wish we had stayed elsewhere. :( read more

Bottom Line: Worn and dated but clean with a good location. My husband and I decided to take a chance on the Hampton Inn while visiting the Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, DE area. We decided to stay at this hotel given the proximity to some of favorite places in Rehoboth like Egg and Rise Up and some of our favorite places in Lewes like Matt's Fish Camp and The Brush Factory. With those destinations in our sites the location of this hotel was perfect. The hotel was clean but it definitely felt worn and dated. For example, I originally thought there was black and orange mold or stains in the bottom of the bath tub but then I realized it was likely the fiberglass starting to show through. I don't think I took any pictures of the room but the décor was a bit dated too. Ultimately, it was fine for the one night we stayed there but I wouldn't stay at this hotel again unless it gets a facelift. read more

The service was top notch and the hotel was beautiful!! It's a short drive to Rehoboth and Dewey Beach. My kids loved the pool and the free breakfast and they even served up delicious cookies some afternoons (you have to catch 'em quick before they're all gone). I stayed one night at this hotel and it was horrible my daughter rented two rooms for my birthday. Unfortunately my neighbors were a family with pets and they barked the entire night. We addressed the issue to staff but because we booked from a third party we basically had no say. Yes it's a pet friendly hotel. I have no issue with that cause I'm a pet mom myself but policy state that no more then 2 dogs can stay and they had 3 and the policy also state that they have to be leash which they weren't. My daughter step out in the hallway and the dog went for her ankle. When we mention all these issues we were only told again this is a pet friendly hotel and there was nothing they could do about pet owners and their pets they have to deal with their pets themselves. no apology or anything. So to Hampton Inn please be mindful of your policy cause clearly your not aware of it that's all we were trying to get across and think of a better way to accommodate your guest during a situation like this. read more

Breakfast, included Oatmeal that was hot and well made, variety of fruit options, waffles, muffins, juices, variety of cold cereals and they even had almond milk for those who prefer non-dairy options. I stayed here for one night, my first visit to Rehoboth Beach. The hotel was pretty standard fare for Hampton Inns, which is nice to expect. I felt like the king room as a little small, a bit of a tight space for going through between the wall and the chest of drawers with the TV on top. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, the temperature adjustable, the wifi good enough. I slept well. The breakfast was pretty standard fare, too, but I did enjoy the cut-up fruit, not fruit cocktail but a more interesting blend that included pineapple and grapefruit. It perked up the breakfast for me. Sometimes it's the little things. I agree with other reviewers that there's a nice selection of restaurants and gas stations nearby. I enjoyed dinner at the Pickled Pig Pub, one of the nearby food options. read more

This is the first time at this particular hotel. Check in was a breeze, even though the hotel was booked solid. Room was cold when we entered. Turned the heat on. Upon checking out the place, looked clean until I went to check the bathroom. Shower had the bath rug disgust on the shower floor and the shower was leaking from the faucet. The room had a refrigerator that didn't make anything thing cold. There was a microwave which to me was a plus. Besides the bathroom issue which the front desk said they would address the following day seems like everything else was ok. The bed seems hard but that's ok also. This is an older location but ultimately where we ended up for the night because we do our best to stay in Hilton-owned locations and well, this seemed to be the only one in Rehoboth. The hotel is located in a decent spot, along Coastal Highway which will take you to either Rehoboth or Dewey. There are also plenty of food options nearby, including Cracker Barrel down the road and Wawa across the street (okay, maybe these things only matter to me since I'm from NY and we lack Wawa). The hotel feels a bit dated but it's still clean with a friendly staff. They did have some trouble checking us in but that seemed to be an issue of the system crashing. They also have an indoor pool, a fitness center, and 2 computers with a printer in the lobby. They also offer free breakfast every morning from 6 to 10. The rooms are a bit smaller than those of newer locations but they still get the job done. They also provide 6 full-size towels if you have a double room, which is nice since a lot of hotels think a double room = 1 person (makes no sense, I know). You can't get to the beach via walking from this location and a shuttle is not provided but if you have a car, you'll be fine. Breakfast was simple but good since we were going to be eating most of the day, anyway. Overall, not a bad location and you still get the Hilton beds (plus a fridge!). read more

My family and I stayed here on Christmas Eve and Christmas, we just wanted a nice place for our children to swim, I felt safe here, everything was clean, the gym was only open with a reservation and they still had breakfast out but it was contactless, The lady who worked early day shift on Christmas had amazing customer service and so did the tall black man, We don't celebrate holidays but they made sure they greeted us whenever we passed by and they wished us Happy Holidays/ Merry Christmas several times, my children even noticed how nice they were compared to the other staff....the room is small for our family but I would definitely stay here again read more

Only one Hotel staff checking guests in... at prime check in time... was not a way to start since I was tired from my long drive and waited a half hour in line to check in. There were only 3 guests ahead of me but one guy took forever. The gal was sweet but that deducted a star from my review. Hotel was recently rennovated...thank goodness...as I am a hotel snob, (I travel a lot for work). Not sure who picked the lime green colors (star deduction for that) in the room but at least that ugly color is behind the beds so you can forget it is there. The rooms are comfortable, nice TV, clean rooms & bathrooms. Also, very comfortable bed. I would have liked bigger windows in the rooms...really...who designed small windows? (I should have deducted a star for that too). Overall, a very fine stay...it is the Hampton Inn...not the RITZ ! The breakfast was typical hampton inn breakfast buffet...lots of choices, but unfortunately, there were a bunch of ants crawling around the toaster and bread area. For the most part, they do a lot of things well here, but the things that turned me off were a deal breaker. I traveled to Delaware for a week's worth of business in February; while I'm sure Rehoboth Beach has a lot more to offer in the summer, I was not expecting much for this time of the year and Hampton still failed to meet my expectations. I understand that the hotel was under construction (not sure if second floor was open) but there were some major HVAC issues with the building. When I stepped off the elevator on my floor it was very warm in the hallway, 80+ degrees, but when I reached my room at the end of the hall it was easily 20-30 degrees colder. I was on a a trip with 11 colleagues who would all agree that they were unable to satisfactorily control the temperature in their room with their heating/cooling unit. I would go to bed freezing then wake up sweating. While I was there I contracted the flu, and I'm sure the temperature fluctuations in my room did not help. No matter how high I cranked the heat, it was always cold in the bathroom, as it shared a wall with the cold hallway. Things that the hotel did have going for it: refrigerators in every room, friendly staff, clean, and a decent gym - though small and few options was very clean stocked with towels, sanitized wipes, and a water cooler. The beds were fairly firm. Overall breakfast was decent, the cheese omelets tasted like eggs and cheese wiz, but the make-your-own waffles were very good. read more

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. The room was clean but the bathroom needs some attention. There was mold on the ceiling in the shower and dark spots on the tub that appeared to be permanent. Our TV didn't work, which didn't really matter to us anyway. The free breakfast wasn't bad, it was what you'd expect - waffle maker, eggs, cereal etc. But the coffee was absolutely horrible. Overall, I would not recommend unless they make some upgrades to the rooms. read more

Our bikes were stolen from the hotel bike rack which is located right next to t back exit of the hotel. On our arrival we asked the front desk ladies for a storage room to store our bikes as we did in other hotels we stayed in before. They told us the hotel bike rack right next to the back exit is totally safe so we chained our bikes there for two days and on the third day our bikes were gone. The chain we used to tie the bikes together to the rack was gone as well. We called the police and we filed a report with the police and the hotel to be reimbursed for our bikes. General Manager Reinie T was very rude and unprofessional and told us the hotel is not responsible for our stolen bikes. She also told us she has no ''magic card for us" to go buy new bikes. On most cases the hotels have NO liability and they are not responsible for stolen goods except when they are negligent and they have poor security. The front desk staff told us to put the bikes on that bike rack. They have no security cameras anywhere outside the hotel including the parking lot. While we were seeking help from the front desk staff we learned that they had a theft incident a year ago in the back of the hotel and they done nothing to prevent future theft. Based on 'innkeepers liability' law the hotel is responsible for our loss based on the fact that they directed us to put the bikes on that rack and assured us it's a safe place. The video security system resumes to only 3 cameras in the entire hotel, front desk, pool entrance and pool. They have NO posted signs with the liability waiver anywhere in the hotel to support their No liability claim. read more

We just had a 3 day stay at the Rehoboth Hampton in the Middle of May 2022. I do not know what happened to this Hotel as we stayed there in 2013 and 2014. Even though I do not like posting negative reviews, I feel I must this time. In short, they gave us a room we did not book as it had the pull-out sofa, which we could not sit on as it felt like one was sitting on a bean bag. The Bed mattress was too soft for my liking although my wife managed to sleep OK on it. I reported to the front desk the first morning that they gave us the wrong room and was basically blown off in a kind manner. She stated they were sold out. Room had a half window that did not let in enough day light to read the newspaper. Room Service did not replace the coffee packs the next day and I had to move the coffee maker to the bathroom so as not to wake my wife fumbling around in the dark with water on the desk table. Ice machine on 4th floor was out of service the entire time. However, their free breakfast was up to par as we had experienced in the past.The pool bathroom is a disgrace and I can go on at the risk of sounding unreal. I cannot adequately express my gratitude and appreciation for the staff at the Hampton Inn in Rehoboth Beach, DE. My mother died last week and people were coming to Rehoboth Beach from literally all over the world. Reservations were made, broken, changed and the staff were very accommodating, sympathetic, and even provided hugs. In particular, Jen and I'm sorry to say I don't know the other woman's name were awesome. The bonus was when a suit was left in a room and we were quickly notified so we could come collect it. I stayed at the hotel for a week for my job. I'm used to the hotel life so I had nothing to complain about, however, Tuesday morning I woke up with some strange bites. I thought I had an allergic reaction to something because my skin is very sensitive. But everyday they seemed to increase. By Thursday night, I finally realized what it was. Bed bugs. I just happened to see one crawling up the wall. I've never encountered them before so I wasn't sure at first, but a close friend of mine is a firefighter and he sees them all the time. I immediately went downstairs to change my room for my last night. The front desk receptionist was very apologetic but the experience was already ruined for me. Beware room 307. This hotel isn't on the beach and there's no shuttle to get you there, which makes absolutely no sense. I stayed at a hotel in Annapolis and the hotel was further away from the downtown area of Main Street so you couldn't walk there, so the hotel operated a complimentary van to get you there. That's really what the Hampton Inn needs to do, but instead we were just rudely mocked when we asked about transportation options. When we were checking in, we asked the front desk what the transportation options were to get to the beach and they laughed at us. It was so rude that the two people at the check-in desk that you thought would be able to offer some suggestions were the least helpful and were practically mocking us. Now, to put it into perspective, while we drove to the hotel, we had read online that parking at Rehoboth Beach was very difficult and would be even harder, especially with it being a holiday weekend. When we spent most of our first evening sitting in traffic and trying to find a parking spot when it was dark out and most of the daily beachgoers had gone home, we didn't want to waste our entire beach day circling around trying to find a parking spot like mall shoppers at Christmastime. Without the hotel's help, we ended up finding a park and ride lot that we could pay to park at with bus service to the beach. Why the hotel doesn't at least offer shuttle service to the bus station so people could get to the beach is again, beyond me. We also were considering taking the Jolly Trolley, but the hotel front desk made it seem like that was a horrible option. However, from all the people who were riding the Jolly Trolley, they seemed to be enjoying themselves and it seemed like a perfectly acceptable way to get to the beach. I seriously hope that Hampton Inn provides it front desk staff with retraining in the area of guest relations and providing answers to basic questions such as the best way to get to the beach considering I assume that's why most people stay at this hotel because it doesn't have much else going for it! The hotel is located on a busy road with lots of traffic and the view out our window was of the hotel's parking lot and the McDonald's that was next door. While the hotel was lacking in views, it did have a decent complimentary breakfast with different types of cereal, eggs, muffins and assorted pastries and make your own Belgian waffles. The breakfast was the only saving grace for this hotel, but I think if I returned to this area, I would rather pay for my own breakfast and stay closer to the beach and at a hotel that doesn't have rude front desk staff. read more
