Amazing food. We got the garlic style with beef, lo mein with chicken, and the mapa tofu. The lo mein was very good - not very spicy. The garlic style was amazing - just as advertised sweet, spicy, (not that spicy I'm Korean) and sour. The mapa tofu.... In spicy ness the owners put it as a 7 out of 10. I thought it wouldn't be that spicy... It was so spicy I ate about 3 pieces of tofu and my nose was running and my stomach was killing me. I can barely stay straight because it was so spicy. Despite living in New York, I've been to this New Jersey restaurant several times when visiting relatives in Cherry Hill. My experiences have always been very positive. Their food is exceptional and the service is notably attentive. This past week, I went to the place three times and every meal was extraordinary. I'm a big fan of spicy food and find the Hot Pot style flavorful without being overly hot. Others might differ on that since my tolerance for spiciness is pretty high. Also of note is the Cold Sesame Noodles which, despite being an inexpensive appetizer, is enough food to feed a family of three. A huge portion. With delicious sesame sauce. Han Dynasty is one of my all-time favorites and, to me, worth a two-hour trip. read more

I've had the pleasure of experiencing Han Dynasty's exquisite Sichuan cuisine in the Old City and University City locations. Today a friend and I decided to try something new. We tried Han Dynasty Cherry Hill. Good: pea leaves with garlic. These were excellent! Get these! In addition, get the spicy crispy cucumbers Cold Noodles in Chili Oil: I learned that the taste of the cold noodles depends on the master chef. IMHO, the master chef at the U City location makes a better cold noodle in chili oil dish Garlic Sauce Style: my friend had this. She said it tasted better at the Old City location. Handy Nasty is my JAM. If I had to be monogamous with my restaurants, this might very well be my life partner. Been numerous times and have never been disappointed. The Dan Dan noods and Dumplings/wontons in chili oil are the moneymakers. Its sacrilegious to skip on them. The nood's have a sauce that tastes like sesame paste (slightly similar to peanut butter) and chili oil. The cherry hill location tends to have slightly milder heat in their dishes then the old city location. Both the dumps and wontons are bathed in a chili oil bath and are in a soft encasing. The hot pots are also pretty delicious, and I like the one with garlic sauce quite a bit. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, the place is byob. I rarely have to wait even during peak hours. read more

Went on a holiday (New Year's Day) with a group of 8 and did not make a reservation, but the staff was still very friendly and accommodating and we were seated immediately. Most of our party had been here before, but for those who hadn't, the GM thoroughly explained the spice levels (1-10) and family-style portions of the entrees. I should note here that spicy food is not my cup of tea, but I still was able to find dishes that were not too hot. We started off with a few orders of Dan Dan noods at varying levels of spice. I ordered mild (3) just to be safe, but ended up mixing in the (6) to add flavor. Others at our table enjoyed the 10 & said it was not unbearable. We also ordered wontons & dumplings in chili oil. The wontons were better than the dumplings in my opinion, since they were smaller and absorbed the chili oil better. These were pretty spicy for me at a mild level. For entrees, we ordered the garlic chicken (3) and hot and spicy beef (8). The chicken was tender and not spicy at all. I was not brave enough to try the beef, but heard it was just ok & that the chicken has more flavor. Each dish also came with a large bowl of white rice. This place is also a BYOB, which makes it extremely affordable. Our bill was just under $100 for 8. read more

Always a great meal and super speedy service. We were three people and we got the Dan Dan Noodles which always comes out right away followed by their order of wings which were crispy and not greasy. The three of us split the hot pot which is an amazing meal for the table to add extra rice to. The best part is for how good they are they are inexpensive so we are like kings on a peasants salary. Lunch time the place is incredibly busy yet the food came out prompt and perfect always a major plus if you are looking for a little lunch time getaway. The Han dynasty in old city is literally my favorite restaurant in the world. This one is just as good, although the atmosphere isn't as fancy and no bar. I do think the food is less spicy here but still delicious. Also, everything came out really quickly which was great since we stopped here after an exhausting day. I had the spicy tofu fish which wasn't on the menu last time I was in Philly, it might actually be better than my favorite dish of dry pepper scallops! read more

The food here is delicious, fast, and consistent every single time. We generally get the cucumbers, dan dan, wontons, dry pot fish, three cup chicken, and garlic style beef. All are delicious and of different spice levels so that we get a variety of heat and flavor. I'm always bringing friends here who haven't been before. They always keep coming back and bringing new people as well. This place is solid and as long as it's open, I'll keep coming back. read more

This is now one of my favorite restaurants! We ordered the spicy beef & noodle soup and dry pepper style fish - both were awesome! The complimentary tea was also delicious. I'd recommend ordering family style (we went during lunch time) as the portions are pretty big. I thought that the person that seated us was a little rude - he was more interested in chatting with a group than welcoming us and was pretty dismissive of us (this is the only reason for it being a 4 star instead of a 5). Absolutely delicious. We had the long pepper beef, pork fried rice for dinner and we started with wonton soup and fried Taiwanese sausage. The wonton soup was Pleasant. The broth was light and the wontons delicate with flavorful filling. The sausage was a new venture and it was well worth it. I love fried rice and this was one of he best I've had. No soy sauce needed for any of the food. Now this not "Chinese" food it is Szechuan so you won't see typical Chinese food on the entree selection but there is plenty to choose from so if you like Chinese and want to venture u will not be at all disappointed. read more

We have been coming to han dynasty for many many years and had one of the worst experiences of my life today. We had a party of 6 with 3 little ones. My sister went in first, requested a table and had it all set up prior to the rest of us arriving. The manager (who really shouldn't be in customer service) got upset at her for the amount of people and strollers (2) and told her, "you know, you're not our only customers." She let that go. He then proceeded to very rudely tell her to "move the child over there" and walked away. Being a nonconfrontational person, she let that go as well. Until we came and heard about it. Needless to say, we immediately got up and left. I am still in shock that this man is the manager. And now I am very angry at myself for giving the cherry hill location any business at all. I truly hope the owner takes this review into consideration. read more

Returned for dinner with my family. Mixed reviews. This is a racist statement, but I prefer my servers at Chinese restaurants to be Asian. There I said it.. Shoot me. I also prefer the staff at the front of the house to be presentable. The guy at the front looks like one of the customers. Middle aged, big stomach, dressed in jeans with his shirt untucked. He looks like me. I don't want to see me at the front of the house. But none of this matters bc its all about the food and the service. Right? Han Dynasty is still light years ahead of any run of the mill suburban strip mall take-out place. Its like comparing a McDonalds burger to a burger at Capitol Grille. Last time out I had the wings as an appetizer and thought they were the best wings I ever had. this time not so much. I prefer naked wings and these had a pretty heavy coating. They were very crispy, although not enough heat. Definitely a solid 3, but not the best wings ever. Dan Dan noodles are always good and did not disappoint. Sesame noodles were also good with a vinegar based sauce. My son Alex got the dumplings, which he likes and I didn't taste. The pork belly double Cook Style was ok, little fatty. Like eating under cooked bacon. The Garlic Sauce Style Shrimp was spicier than order but the problem was the shrimp tasted fishy. The Dry Pot Style lamb was the best of the bunch. Its 10 heat was good but not over powering. My son Max liked his shrimp fried rice, which is good for those who like fried rice and don't want any heat. All this food for $105 is pretty reasonable; 3 apps and 4 main courses. So they got that going for them. Some dishes are home runs, some are ok. Nothing sucked, which is good. the service is good. Food came out fast, really too fast. The thing is, there is really no place else where you can get Chinese food like this in the burbs so I will definitely be coming back!! read more

I watch the "Food Ranger" on YouTube. His name is Trevor, and he travels throughout China, eating obviously authentic & delicious meals such as noodle dishes and hot pot. I searched and searched for a more authentic Chinese restaurant in this area that would serve dishes like the ones Trevor tries, to no avail. Then, I found Han Dynasty. Let me tell you, after you try Han Dynasty, other Chinese restaurants will never suffice, unless you're looking for more Americanized food. Sweet n Sour chicken is fine, if you want a dish from the US, but if you're looking for more authenticity-this is your place. First, it isn't just take-out, and I've always had a special place in my heart for Chinese sit-downs. The lovely & palatial restaurants in Chinatown are imitable & inviting, so it's grand to have one in Cherry Hill. The second thing is the most important-the food! Their menu is wide & diverse. I always find myself salivating at the thought of such varying & expansive offerings-spice, pickled vegetables & fish, hot pot, braised beef-amazing! Their noodle dishes are absolutely divine. My favorite is the spicy beef noodle soup, and the Dan Dan noodles- you can also specify the spice level, & I always go 10 (which isn't just a kick-a 10 is incredible heat, favor, & sinus-opening intensity). This being a more authentic restaurant means there's a greater reliance on chili oil & other spices like Szechuan peppercorn (a spice that will add heat, & tongue numbing tingle), so be prepared. There are also dishes like rabbit & tripe-which may possibly turn some off-but those looking for a detour from chicken chow mien will be delighted. We went in for NYE so excited. I'd eaten at the one by Penn 2x and loved it. This one is good, but if you are an adventurous eater, better go to a Philly location. Everything tastes good here, it just seems spiced down for the suburbanites. Still better than most south Jersey Chinese restaurants. We got the beef hot pot, allegedly a 10 spice level. It barely rated a 7. The chicken we got, L 7 was not too spicy either. I asked for the Dan Dan noodles to be spicy, but as my daughter was eating them- proof they were not in fact spicy. The kids loved the 3 cup chicken and the scallion pancake. The customer service was very good and they were kind to my kids. read more

Loved their noodles in peanut sauce, a refreshing change. I had the lamb shrimp and beef family pot special. It was seasoned perfectly(but beware, if you're averse to spicy dishes this restaurant is not for you. The spring rolls were also very nice but I wish there was more variety for the dipping sauce, soy really didn't do it for me. This is a nice family restaurant and best of all, contrary to popular belief, you are not hungry an hour later after dining here! read more
