We also got the hot sauce style beef and dry pepper chicken (but I asked for it a bit mild because I was intimidated by the spice level), both were great and neither were painfully spicy. The scallion pancake was a nice lil non spicy treat to have along side the dishes. Placing the order was tricky because the online ordering had been shut off and nobody was answering the phone, Google also said it was "temporarily closed." I walked right in and had no problem ordering in person though. They were quite busy but still my order only took about 15 minutes. Wait staff was super friendly so i think people were taking advantage of her unfortunately (thats how i felt) there was two tables next to us, one table guy left all of his food, reason being that it was too spicy. So wait staff offered to make new one. He accepted it and then togo the leftover. I was like... what the heck?!? And the other table, there was a couple. Big fan of the Dan Dan noodles at the Han Dynasty in Old City Philadelphia and dropped in a few times to see if this Han Dynasty is the same. These Dan Dan Noodles were good but not better. They were a little too soupy but as a whole like I remembered them from Olde City. There a hint of tahini flavor that adds just the right flavor. The noodles had a familiar chew and definitely work the price. The Twice Cooked Fish Filet filets were seasoned well but the filets were not sliced large enough. While the breading was good it seemed like the breading was all I was eating. Some of the pieces were basically all breading and very little fish. The Sautéed Snow Pea Leaves had great garlic flavor but the leaves had aged a bit and were no longer fresh. Seating was quick, parking was abundant, and the location was easy to find. While all Han locations are far superior to any run of the mill take out place-this location is a bit off in way of consistency. The hot sauce style dishes are different here. My party of 5 agreed. Less salt, heat, caramelization and flavor. Murky brown in color vs that deep shiny maroon. I've been to the Cherry Hill location 3-4 times and have experienced this every time. Found myself asking the server for the chili oil and soy sauce, something I never do at other Han's. Most of the starters and apps were about the same, all good, though the Dan Dan noodles were thrown together very quickly, and lacked the table side presentation aspect that the other locations offer. I went in 7PM on Sunday There were 4 or 5 people waiting for take-out ouders, the telephone was ringing off the hook and there was no one present at the front desk, nor on the floor or the restaurant. I'm not sure if this was to appeal to a more American audience or if I came on a bad day, but the food has gone from authentic and delicious to just....salty. Needless to say, I was sooo excited for Han Dynasty, but a bit disappointed in the food I ordered. I've ordered during the pandemic and I'm not sure if it was the particular day I ordered, or if this is a regular thing, but the only appetizer they had was the cucumbers. I wish they had the beef tripe, because that is a dish I TRULY recommend to ANYONE (it is delicious !!). I ordered the string beans and mapo tofu along with a few other dishes. String beans, very salty. Was bearable if eaten with rice, but still not a big fan. Mapo tofu, SODIUM OVERLOAD. Could not even eat WITH rice - would not recommend. On a more positive note - The dry pot is my favorite, especially with fish. Again, it was extremely salty on my most recent visit, but if I could recommend any dish from Han Dynasty, it would be this! Or....the dan dan noodles! The dan dan noodles here have always been a favorite in my household and they continue to be great. I didn't find this dish overwhelming salty like the other ones, it truly was delicious. Good to know one of the highest rated Chinese restaurants is located just a few blocks from where I grew up. I'd seen it a thousand times, just never had an urge to try it. Then a Facebook thread popped up and this place came up consistently as having the best, most "authentic" dishes in the area. That sealed the deal. We sat down and first off, started with the dan dan noodles. Curiously delicious with a light peanutty flavor. Next, potstickers (or was it won tons?) in a spicy chili oil. Yes, please. Then we added the beef, dry pot style, which had a great kick to it. But our favorite was the shrimp in garlic sauce. All told, a great meal that came in about $25 a head including tip. Staff were very attentive and helpful with describing dishes we were interested in. If we're being honest, I much prefer their Old City, Philly counterpart for ambiance reasons alone, as it's located in a STUNNING old converted bank with insanely gorgeous details, but the food at this location is the same, and was really difficult to resist while trekking through Jersey! And well, if Anthony Bourdain gave it a big thumbs up, who am I to say any different :) The dan dan noodles which come at a level 6 out of 10 spiciness are in my opinion, a MUST!! They are perfectly spicy and perfectly peanuty! They are a wonderful thick consistency and tossed with chili table-side, too! How fun! They do come with minced pork here, but they will happily eliminate it, no issue. These noodles are TO DIE FOR and the stuff my dreams are made of! I honestly crave them often!!! YUMMMMM! During a recent lunch date, my husband and I indulged in the seafood tofu soup for two. It was massive and quite delicious! Little seafood, but the taste was surely not lacking at all! Great starter on a colder day! We also had two lunch specials, at a mere $8 or so. They were given with copious amounts of white rice. (Lots of leftovers for two more meals the following day!) Oh Han Dynasty, how we love you so! This is one of our fail-safe restaurants that we find ourselves visiting time and time again. Their food is always consistent, and it is just as delicious when it's enjoyed via take-out as it is while dining-in. We've sampled all areas of the menu, but my Love and I find ourselves favoring the same dishes. Dry Pepper Chicken for him, and Kung Pao Tofu for me. The breading/coating on the tofu is divine. It's the perfect blend of sweet and sour and tang. The white rice soaks up the sauce, and it creates a delectable flavor-bomb. It's a well-balanced dish and it's never overly-garlicky. Heartburn is not my bag, baby! And the best part? I always have leftovers for lunch the following day. Two-for-one! We seem to always have the same waiter when we visit, and he's super friendly and attentive. And the hot tea you're served upon being seated is the perfect way to begin your dining experience. I have the Dan Dan noodles. Absolutely delicious. You can taste a hint of the chili base, which is sweetened by little pork pieces. The sprinkle of veggie through the the dish cut through the richness of the meal. It was a pleasant surprise in some bites. The best part was the freshness of the noodles. It's been a while since we visited this location in Cherry Hill, NJ the food was good. We ordered garlic chicken. I think sweet chili wontons and Dan-Dan noodles and steamed rice came with the meal. The rice was steamed cold and could not be eaten all were pretty good and we ate inside the place. Now here is where the problem starts, the place was pretty empty just a few patrons eating inside. We were seated by the front window and quickly found out the flies were trying to get out. We had to move our seats. I have never seen so many flies in a restaurant or building before. So many in facts that a waitress was chasing them around with a fly swatter and doing a little dance after she would kill one. Second I thought the chef or guy who owns these made them into a little upscale Chinese Eatery? This is just a run down Chinese restaurant, mopes and brooms visible when you are in the dinner area. Waitress dress in street clothes you know with the fly swatter older type decor and nothing special except the kitchen help running around with the nerf guess thur the dinning area? Really this should be 2 stars I forgot about the cold rice and added that later. We will never eat inside again and most likely try a different brand name. read more

Let me start by saying that my family and I have been longtime patrons of this location, and we are never returning after our horrible experience. I placed an order for pickup and waited more than 1.5 hours after the promised time before my food was finally ready. The restaurant was severely understaffed and orders were backed up. About one hour in, I asked a waitress for the status of my order and she said that if I placed the order, it was coming. I explained to her that I had been waiting for an hour after my promised time at that point. She walked away from me and I overheard her saying sarcastically to a table of diners, "See that person with the mask over there? They've been waiting a 'really long time.' Ha ha ha." Is there really more to Han Dynasty other than Dan Dan? I would like to say NO, just go in order the Dan Dan and be on your way. I wish I could say that , but Han likes to push it to the next level when it comes to Szechuan. I would frequent their Old City location, or even their Manayunk spot when I need to get that spicy fix. It is clearly safe to say I am already a HUGE fan of Han Dynasty. Besides the addictive Dan Dan there is so much more to this than chili oil and breaking into a sweat as if you were in a sauna. Their dumplings and wontons are on point, even those spicy cucumbers will make you do a happy dance . I mean I could go on with the Salt and Pepper shrimp, or those scallops, down to the double cooked fish, or pork belly. What else can they do that wouldn't have you crave them some more? Han will even have specialty dishes for you to peruse . The hot pot or their shredded duck will have you do a shimmy. Plus call ahead and see what they are doing for specials. I think I have pretty much covered, or better yet, begin to cover why you should go in and give them a try. Somebody say Hot Pot? I thought I heard that? You see I can't just finish with a few things here and there. Han Dynasty is a place that needs to be revisited . You might want to also ask about their tasting menu that will leave you stuffed like a dumpling. I'll be back more often, Cherry Hill is lucky to have these guys here doing what they do. read more

I'm pretty fortunate to live super close to a business that has been doing what Han is doing here and at his other 7(?) locations, but they toil in a bit of obscurity. They keep the menu more traditional, and offer many more dishes. At Han I get the feeling that everything has been distilled down and polished, which is not necessarily a bad thing. With the glowing reviews we did not know what to expect on a Saturday afternoon visit. This must not be a busy time for them, only one third of the tables were seated. From all indications those folks were enjoying the food. The manager came over and explained the menu, we probably would have deciphered it anyway. He seemed eager to make a good impression as did our server Alex who was very good throughout. We knew enough to order the DanDan noodles, and agree with all who have cited it as a must have. And a pretty low cost too. They lowered the heat so Trish could share it, while providing me with chili oil to spice my serving back up. Fried dumplings were very good, but I would consider going without next time to try something else. Our shared entree of 3 cup chicken was ok. This is perhaps the menu's least spicy offering, but maybe a choice for the less adventurous. If you are not a fan of dark meat chicken this dish may not be your thing either, it is served in a mellow soy, garlic, ginger, basil and 5 spice sauce. We agreed another visit is on the horizon, although I wonder if a different location might reveal more depth. As it is, this one is convenient for us, so we'll return. Great food as always! Good portions, fantastic pricing, and always consistent. You know when you order from here you're going to get great and consistent quality. My only complaint was the woman who was taking care of the pick up orders. She was short with me and rude. I walked in to get my order, no one was in the lobby so I was abiding by the social distancing rules in the door, and she barked, "yeah?" to me. I told her I was picking up and gave her my name and she blankly states at me with an annoyed look on her face. She asks for my full name, I give it to her again, she sighs and tosses the food over the table. Perhaps she was having a bad day and I've never had anything but wonderful service from here. Updating my review on this place since i'm always here. Han Dynasty is hands down the best place to eat in Cherry Hill. This place is all about spicy and flavorful food. If you don't like spicy food you can always turn the heat down on your dish. All the food on the menu has a spice level already picked out for the dish. The spice level starts at 1 and goes to 10. The highest i've ever went is an 8 and the flavor was amazing and the spice was outstanding. Han is the only establishment i've been too where the food was spicy enough for me. Most entrees you can change the "protein" as well. Examples such as; Fish, pork, shrimp, tofu, chicken, beef etc. The portions are family style so get ready to share some big dishes. Some apps I recommend for this place are, Dan dan noodles, cold noodles in chili oil, pork wontons, spicy crispy cucumbers and scallion pancakes. Entrees; Kung Pao tofu or chicken, double cooked chicken or dish, garlic sauce style; chicken and black bean style; shrimp. Manager Mark is such a treat to see every time I come in here. Always has a smile on his face and going out of his way to help all customers. He really takes charge with the restaurant and making sure everything is perfect. Staff is awesome and knows who I am at this point. Super friendly and always there for some recommendations if its your first time or you're just looking for something new. Out of the 7 locations that Han has (NYC, PA, NJ) the Cherry Hill location is the best. I have visited one of the Philly locations and loved it but it couldn't compare to the relationship I have with this location and the staff that works here. A buddy of mine recommended Han Dynasty a couple of years ago (he knows Han personally). We've been to the Han Dynasty in Old City a few times, and the ambience there is pretty cool (and a ton of bars up and down the street are always a good thing). However, it's nice not to have to cross the river to enjoy Han's! We've been to the Cherry Hill location several times. We now have this down to a science: sit down and have the Dan Dan noodles and Spicy Crispy Cucumber, while waiting for our to-go order of the Dry Pepper Chicken (spice level 8) and Shrimp Fried Rice. We've also enjoyed a full meal here as well (this location is BYOB). Han Dynasty may be the best real Chinese food I've ever had! read more

There was a time that there was only 1 Han Dynasty location and Han could be found there in Old City working. I remember being berated by him once as we discussed the proper way to eat chinese sausage. The food at the original location was intoxicating and addictive and a mouth numbing inferno that walked the border of oh my I think this is too hot & oh my, I can't stop eating this!!! There was nothing like it. Those were the days. The service, well, it was okay. This location in New Jersey vaguely resembles what I would expect from Han Dynasty in terms of food both in flavor and level of spice. I've given it 3 tries and each time I leave with a sense of dissappoint and a longing due to an unfulfilled desire for some szechuan flavor. What is it with Jersey and the sissy palate? The sauces here tasted sweeter, far less spicy and virtually no numbing sensations that are generally associated with szechuan peppercorn. It's like the whole menu is for baby adults. On a good note, the space is clean, the atmosphere is welcoming and bright. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive and there is never a wait. IF you are measuring this location against other chinese restaurants in the area then it still wins hands down but if you compare it to a standard set by the success of it's flagship location then it's just middle of the road. read more
