    Beef bulgogi bibimbap
    Bradly P.

Hank Kook Kwan is located in the Korean Plaza in Korean town in Orange County, CA serving up korean stone bowl food and much more. After browsing through the Korean Plaza we make our way to the food court and notice all the pictures and advertisements of the food and decided to give it a try. We went ahead and ordered the beef bulgogi bibimbap, and seafood Korean pancake. The prices are quite steep here and especially for a food court setting so be prepared to cough up some money. After visualizing the cook through the restaurant I watch her make my meal. I notice she is running around the kitchen grabbing items from the fridge and putting them back in with no cover while cutting things. In my head I think wow so unsanitary coming from a food service background. I go ahead and take my seat and in about 10 minutes the food was ready. The cashier just calls out the food order and I pick it up. The bibimbap was sizzling than ever in the black stone bowl. It had a fried egg, radishes, beansprouts, spinach, mushrooms, and some pickled veggies below and a small amount of beef and a bed of white rice. I go ahead and mix it all up and incorparate all the ingredients together while letting it cook more. Quick time first bit and the taste was bland and not exciting. When i think about why its because it was just rice with some veggies and a small amount of meat. There was a bottle of gochujang sauce he provided as well but i didnt even want to touch that bottle because on the tip it had gunk from the previous uses and that right there just killed my vibe. After seeing that bottle it completley ruined my appetite and I wasnt hungry anymore just with all the thoughts going through my head. Everyone knows in the food service world to clean the bottle and top caps after each use with a hot watery rag! The seafood pancake wasnt special anyways and wasnt even crispy on the bottom. There was no color to it and char but just a bunch of squid and shrimp with no veggies. Meh, I expierenced better Korean food than this place with high prices and mediocre but not extravagant food I think ill find another place. If maybe they just tighten up there sanitaton and clean as they go and put a bit more love in there food I might be back.

They are located in the food court section of Arirang market. I come to grocery shop a few times a month but rarely head to the food court since I just bought food to cook. On this particular occasion I was running late during lunch so I decided to just buy something so I didn't have to cook when I got home. All the table are taped off so no indoor seating but they did have a few tables and chairs right outside. I went with the Kimchi fried rice and beef bulgogi combo https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/han-kook-kwon-garden-grove?select=BhOv2Ana-JE4dWSsGi47sA The fried rice was legit good and I can definitley get a whole order of this and be happy happy. The bulgogi on the other hand was a bit dry and lacking in flavor. Sadly I only took a few bites of it and didn't eat the rest. Haemul pajeon aka Seafood pancake is a fave dish that I order when its available. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/han-kook-kwon-garden-grove?select=cCGem_Jj8g4Bk9AMf3boSw. For food court this wasn't bad at all. There was a good amount of seafood and had decent flavor. It didn't have the crunchy bottom that I prefer when its served on a hot grill pan. Overall if you are looking for a quick and decent bite I think you will like this place. Eyes ~ Typical food court area. Ears ~ Customers ordering and clanking of cooking utensils. Nose ~ Smells like it's lunch time and I'm hungry! Mouth ~ Ok give me more of that kimchi fried rice please!

    Spicy seafood noddle

They are kind and their food is so good. The portion is for 2 people even I ordered only the spicy seafood

Love love love the spicy rice cake and Kim chi fried rice. Very very tasty and excellent flavor. Love coming here. Don't even want to try anything else

We went to Arirang today and because we wanted to buy some perishables, we decided to just eat at the food court. There were 3 stalls which offered meals and this one, Korea House, appealed to me the most. They had 4 types of dolsot bibimbap available, I ordered #4 ($7.99) which had some beef in it besides the vegetables. Lil guy got the BBQ chicken which was #14 ($7.99). We decided to share the items just in case. The food arrived -- the BBQ chicken arrived on a hotplate along with 3 types of banchan, soup and a bowl of rice. Bibimbap arrived with gujujang already in the bowl. I didn't mind, but the rice for the bibimbap was too wet so the entire dish was slightly soggy. It did leave a thin layer of the crunchy rice at the end which is my favorite. Lil guy's BBQ chicken was slightly too sweet for me, but he seemed to enjoy it. This suffices for a quick and satisfying meal. 3.5 stars.

Located inside a Korean supermarket. Legit Korean food cause the title of the restaurant is in Korean and the lady at register and cooking our food said hello in Korean. Anyways, this restaurant is food court style so it's self service. As for the food, we got the seafood pancake ($12) and the beef bulgogi bibimbap ($9). Everything is made to order. The seafood pancake was okay. It only had shrimp and oysters (likely canned). The bibimbap was colorful and delicious. The bibimbap came with a side of kimchi and 2 other pickled/ferment vegetables. The prices are cheap for Korean food in Cali. You definitely get what you paid for. But the best part about this place is that it isn't on break like other restaurants in Cali btwn 3-5pm. 5 stars for being opened cause we came in at 3:30. 3.5 star food though.

    Kalbi

I usually end up eating here when I go to Arirang for some grocery shopping & I've not been disappointed yet. I've tried several different dishes, the last being the Kalbi. How I don't see very many overweight Koreans when all the dishes comes with unlimited sides amazes me. They could amount to a meal in itself. Anyway, the Kalbi turned out great. Not overcooked or under done. Just right. The potato slices (side) tends to be my favorite along with the radish side. I don't like the Kim chi as it's just not very spicy. And if it's not spicy, to me, it's just soggy cabbage. There' a small bowl of soup that's served with however I don't much care for it. There's a foreign salty taste that just doesn't agree with my taste buds. I know other people like it so to each their own. By the way, it's located inside the food court, not on the exterior of the building.

Left - #20 Kimbap - very tasty Right - #28 Chicken Plate - superb chicken with a great cabbage slaw. [BEST DISH WOULD RECCOMEND]

This is a very tasty korean themed restaurant that serves foods like bibimbap and meat/vegetable plates. Very good food would recommend! :)

    Bibimbap ($8)

Located at the food courts inside of the AR Supermarket. They have a picture menu so just tell the lady what number you want, pay, and take your number to your table. What I got: Bibimbap ($8): comes in a stone pot with a variety of different vegetables and topped off with a fried egg. You are suppose to break the egg and then the yolk should be runny so you could mix it, but the yolk wasn't runny! They also give you a bottle of this hot pepper paste that you can use to give your bibimbap some kick. Mix everything really well so you could enjoy everything in one bite. It also came with 3 side dishes which were all pretty good and this hot beansprout soup thing which didn't have much flavor to it. Service: No one was there when I got there, but a lady quickly rushed over when she saw me. She seemed all over the place. She would be making my food one minute and then running off somewhere doing something else. Food took a little longer to come out than I expected, but not too bad.

The pork jowl and pork belly are DIVINE - clearly high quality. Workers hand us a sticker with specs about the preparation and aging process, which is oddly charming and shows how much pride they take in their meat. Tangy pickled or fermented veggies, sweet pineapple, mushrooms, and soups help cut through all that richness from the fat. The pork and kimchi soup especially hits - it's super comforting and balances out the meal. This is also a great alternative if you're craving BBQ but don't have the stomach space for AYCE. These portions leave us full and satisfied every time. Overall, an amazing spot for a casual, pork-centric feast!

We also ordered the pork cutlet on the side, and honestly, the portion was massive for like a quick lunch. Crispy, filling, and definitely enough to take leftovers home! The banchan was simple but solid too, especially the big slices of cucumber and daikon, along with pieces of pancake on the side.
