Ordered the jjajangmyoen and it was good, but it came out with a sushi roll and a side of udon soup. I asked 3 TIMES if they came with the jjajangmyoen and the owner said yes. AFTER eating she came up to my table and asked me to pay for the sushi roll and udon soup because "they weren't included and it was someone else's order" even though I asked 3 times to confirm they came out with my order. Felt like a scam since she came up AFTER I was done eating. I paid it just to get it over with since she was being stubborn about it. Never coming here again.

Love this I get 3 spicy tuna hand rolls always

Sashimi Don with rice. (Menu is in Korean and English). More than enough sashimi, tea, soup, full bowl of rice, two sides, $10

I didn't plan on writing a review but after the friendly customer service and seeing other reviewers complain I was compelled to say something. I ordered the Sashimi Don bowl (hwaedupbap) $10 comes with a full bowl of rice, two sides, more than enough sashimi and salad to make me full, and free cold barley tea (better than the water from the neighboring food stand). I'm not grading this Japanese style food against the Japanese restaurants in Torrance and Little Tokyo in LA. C'mon people, it's a food court inside of H-Mart. If you want the experience you are looking for stop watching the food network and working up an appetite and then going to a food court inside of a grocery store to get your fix. Rating this based on the level which they compete and price point and convenience factor when you are grocery shopping I give this a 5 star rating. Quantity of food, more than enough to fill me up, and I can eat a lot. Quality, it's a Korean restaurant. Order the more korean related dishes. I don't go to Japanese restaurants and order galbi or bulgogi even if they offer "korean bbq". As far as the cleabliness, you only get to complain because you see them making your food. This isn't nearly as bad as what goes on in a lot of restaurants. And the best korean food in korea on the streets for food stands just like this are ten times worse as far as our standards hold but no one is getting sick or dying over there, and no one is gonna get sick or die from eating at H-Mart. I've ordered food at some of the other food stands in H-Mart and because of them skimping on ingredients and taking shortcuts but charging the same price I can complain. But this place gives good food, friendly service, good quantity, and low prices. If you go to a food court or cafeteria style establishment make sure you set the proper expectations. Gordon Ramsey wouldn't even complain about this place because he wouldn't go here anyways. These places cater to the common folk not the posh snobs that have to eat at all the hyped places all the time. If you are truly hungry and in a rush grocery shopping here and on a budget and aren't a "5 star" up scale restaurant food critic you will like the food here if you order the right thing.

My go to place every week. Yep, every single week. After a long shift, this place is my go to place to feel warm, better & fill myself up with delicious food. I always feel good when I'm here especially since the chef has always been so kind & lovely to me, making sure I'm taken cared of & the food she makes are pretty good! Not a fancy restaurant but the food are pretty much excellent! Def try out the hoe doep bap! It is amazing. Hands down to this wonderfully put together meal. I could prob eat it for the rest of my life. It's the answer to all my problems! HAHA! Moving onto the sushi and rolls, their crunchy roll is all I can ask for in life besides hoe deop bap, but their sushi ( not rolls ) are decent quality, so I wouldn't recommend that if you're very particular with your sushi being super fresh. Just had to also add that their hoe deop bap is BRILLIANT, so do order that and give it a try! Besides the sushi, I would recommend the combo plates. Besides hoe doep bap, this is all I really get because it's so filling & delicious. Their bulgogi is a bit dry but everything else in the plates are really good and filling. The salmon teriyaki ( exception ) is really good, so do try that. I'm not too picky with food especially when the atmosphere is nice & the food is affordable & fills me up. Just gonna say try & see for yourself :)

Awesome mom and pop sushi stall in the HMart Supermarket. The food is always fresh. The lady is very nice.

Food was good. Like others did say, the food took a while to come out. Located within H Mart, this sushi location has a great variety of options at cheap prices. I ordered a teriyaki chicken Bento box and it came out to $10, not including the beverage. My box came with chicken, rice, 4 sushi pieces, salad and two pan fried gyozas. My order also came with 2 sides and 1 miso soup. The gyozas were a bit on the salty side, but everything else was delicious. Service wasn't too great. The cashier took my card while she was cutting fish and returned to cutting right after. My food also took about 15 minutes to be ready while my partner's food from a different booth was ready in about 5. If I visit H Mart again on an empty stomach, I'll probably stop by again and try their udon or sushi.

I love that everyone gets their own individual hot pot and choice of broth. Ordering meat through the tablet couldn't be easier. The buffet bar offers everything from seafood, vegetables, and mushrooms to sauces and even sushi. The staff kept everything running smoothly. They brought out our meat almost as soon as we ordered it, cleared away empty plates in no time, and stopped by often to top off our broths. Very disappointing experience at Avenue Shabu…read more We brought our small dog with us, and before we were seated, we specifically asked about bringing the dog. The first staff member told us that dogs were allowed and that we could stay on the patio. However, no one clearly explained that the dog was not allowed to sit on a restaurant chair. We were already in the middle of dinner when another staff member suddenly came over and told us to put our dog on the ground immediately. We were then told that if we could not do so, we needed to leave. We were not trying to ignore the restaurant's rules. If someone had clearly explained the policy when we arrived, we would have followed it. What was upsetting was being allowed to sit down and start our dinner without being told about the restriction, only to be confronted about it in the middle of our meal. We simply paid our bill and left rather than create a problem. I completely understand that restaurants can have rules about pets, and we are happy to respect reasonable rules. But those rules need to be communicated clearly and consistently, especially before customers are seated. The way this situation was handled felt unnecessary and very uncomfortable. I hope management can use this as an opportunity to make the pet policy clear to customers and ensure that all staff communicate the same information from the beginning.

I'm not a fan of sushi because I don't like raw fish, but this is legitimately the only place I have made an exception. The service was good. They didn't check in with us to let us know the dishes were going to be delayed. We had to ask for an update after 40 minutes and they only told us then that there was only one sushi chef at that time. The restaurant had maybe 6 covers at the time and a couple of them already had food. Another group with the same amount of people came after us and received a sushi roll we had also ordered before we had gotten a single rice roll. I called over a server with lashes and a pony tail saying "Hi, I wanted to know what the priority is for the kitchen as it took 40 minutes for us to receive the couple dishes we had but the other table who came after us received a roll we ordered as well." Mind you that table had received all of their ramens and had been eating. I told her I completely understand the hot food is a different person and I had absolutely no problem with them receiving the ramen, but why did we not get priority for that roll? She didn't apologize for the wait and had a very blunt/rude way of speaking to us. When I was mid sentence, she walked away to pull our original server. However, even though she walked around the corner I was still able to hear her tell the other server quite loudly what was happening. Our server was extremely professional and apologized for the delay and reiterated the delay in you the kitchen. I told her I completely understand there was a delay but if she had told us while we were making our order that the sushi items may be delayed due to being understaffed, we would have changed our order to have more hot foods. I also told her I wanted to speak to a shift lead at that point because the server with the lashes walking away mid sentence was one of the rudest things I've experienced at a restaurant. The manager apologized and it still ended up taking another hour for all the food to come out and they still forgot the last two rolls we needed. We had to remind them we were still waiting on the rolls. One of the rolls was the roll given to the table that started the whole thing. We literally spent $500 for a bad two hour and fifteen minute experience. They also didn't refill drinks until an hour and a half in. My family and I spend at least $500 each time we go here and suffice to say, we aren't coming back.

The price for AYCE is $37.95 which is pretty fair, it included limited special items such as sashimi, sweet shrimp, jumbo scallop, amberjack, salmon belly, and more. Although the special items were limited, having one of each is enough given the large variety on the menu. (Pro tip, come with a big group of friends so you can have the pieces from those who don't want their portion) Everything was super fresh and the presentation was beautiful. You can tell the chef puts a lot of effort into every plate. My favorite items were the salmon belly, sweet shrimp sushi, and baked green mussels. So buttery and delicious! We ended our meal with the fried banana ice cream. I thought the fried banana would be heavy after a big meal, but it didn't feel that way at all. It was yummy, creamy and refreshing. It's hard not to feel heavy after having ayce but luckily we ordered just the right amount of everything! The restaurant is small but offers a good amount of seating from tables to a sushi bar and even a small patio. The parking lot is small since it shares a parking lot with a few other businesses, but i've never had a problem finding parking here. The service was absolutely amazing and genuinely made our entire dining experience better, our server Stella and Chef Min were the best! The restaurant was empty when we got there but I really hope that changes soon because this is one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in OC!
