Finally got to eat in person at this restaurant and it's delicious as always. Love the plentiful banchan.

I ordered the naengymyeon (Spicy Buckwheat Noodles) and it came with complementary banchan. This place is such a treat. Spicy Buckwheat Noodles: 5/5 This was so lovely and filling. Complementary Banchan: 5/5 Fresh and delicious.

One of my favorite spots in OC for seolleongtang and it's reasonably priced as well. Lots of good options on the menu and there were plenty of delicious side dishes. The workers are so sweet and the food came out quickly. I'll definitely be coming back here!

The portions here were huge!!! We ordered the bibim naengmyeon and the tonkatsu. The naengmyeon was delicious and I enjoyed how they had the ice slushee on the bottom. The spicy sauce was sweet savory and tangy which complemented the chewy noodles really well. We also got the tonkatsu and while I thought breading was very light and crispy, it was a little too salty for me. My dad and boyfriend wished the meat was thicker but I believe Korean tonkatsu is suppose to be thinner than Japanese tonkatsu. The banchan was good as well and all the vegetables tasted fresh.

Found this cozy Korean restaurant in Garden Grove when we were craving some Korean food. I got the Cold noodles which was decent. My husband got the Yukdaejang and it was really spicy! But delicious! Their banchans was fun too they had a spread for us. They had alot of other dishes on their menu that we were able to try. The service was super quick and we were able to get in and out. We will definitely be back to try their other dishes.

Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with the cold noodle and kalbi here. It was quite overpriced, and I felt that the kalbi didn't have a depth of flavor. The side dishes too were very basic, which is okay -- I think I just expected more for what the prices were here. It's a very casual and small diner with a few tables. Staff were kind, but it's more of a mom-n-pop shop so a bit slow

we decided to check out this korean food place while in garden grove - the interior was small and felt very quiet since there was no music playing in the background - we shared the cold buckwheat noodles and the pork katsu. the portion sizes were big but it filled up both of us fully. the cold buckwheat noodle (4.8/5) had the right amount of flavor and we loved the broth. the pork katsu was crunchy and the sauce that came with it paired nicely (4.6/5). - the service was fast and helpful to assist our needs. love the portion sizes so would love to come back here again.

Wow wish i know this place sooner, living in GG for 10 yrs and this was my 1st time tried it; recommended by a Korean coworker which shows how legit this place is. Wish there would be more customers here, most taken up by all the trendy spots on this area. This is like a family style restaurant, food is tasty and huge portions. Service is okay. Will still come back for good food

Hanuri was one of the few Korean restaurants that opened early enough and fit into our schedule on the day we were heading north to Magic Mountain. We went right at 9 AM and we were the only ones seated in the restaurant. It was a cozy space with not-so-modern-but-homey interior. Food was very comforting and tasty. We ordered sullungtang, kalguksu, and yukgaejang. They tasted homemade and we all thoroughly enjoyed the dishes. The side dishes were good as well. The water cups were paper cups and two of our cups leaked onto the table and we ended up getting wet a little. Other than that, overall, it was a good dining experience early in the morning. Parking lot was a bit on the smaller side and it is shared with several businesses. But easy parking and easy access.

Soymilk noodles

I basically never not get kongguksu if I ever see it on the menu. I love the nuttiness that comes from the blended soymilk and it comes not really seasoned so you can flavor it to your tastebuds. It's always so refreshing in the summer and the one at Hanuri did not miss! It was great and the noodles were perfectly al dente. Also, look at the banchan variety?! Holy moly there were so many little plates! I appreciate the effort and am thankful I get to try a little bit of all the different flavors. Everyone else also really enjoyed their dishes, so I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you order here!

Karen T.

I had a craving for ox bone soup and Hanuri was the closest place that had it! I opted to get it to go and was surprised at how many banchans they still provide for you especially on a to go order. The order was ready super quick in less than 10 minutes and the soup itself was still very hot by the time I got home. The serving size was plenty- I was able to get two meals out of it!! And after refrigerating the soup, it was super gelatinous - which is a good sign! Would def try this place again for their other dishes!

SUJEBI! (Without extra anchovy)
Donald T.

Sujebi - you're here for the Sujebi. They got other great soups too but their Sujebi is the best in Ktown OC. They normally add anchovy bits into your broth so if you want a normal flavor, ask them not to add it Banchan - the server gives you a lot, seriously it's very generous and they're all very good. Bossam - their Bossam is good, not much else to say. Cabbage is large so you can cut it to however size you prefer Always parking here and it's a cute cozy restaurant.

Hanuri makes delicious Korean soups, stews, bibimbap, and noodles. I came here for the first time for dinner on a weekday. We went for an early dinner and it wasn't super busy but got busier when we left. Once we got seated we were given sides. They were all good and my favorite was their peanuts in a marinated sauce. For dinner, although we wanted to try everything, we got their Assorted Sausage Stew ($32) and their Pork Katsu ($19). The sausage stew was pretty good and I like their veggie and meat ratio. It even had ramen as well. The waitress gave us two bowls of rice with the stew. And the stew was on hot flame so it was hot the entire time. The Pork Katsu was a tad over fried but still really good. It had a yummy sauce on top and was served with some cabbage salad and rice. The serving size for both was pretty large and definitely shareable. We did not finish our food between both of us. We were both full and satisfied. The service was excellent. She kept checking up on us and adjusting the flame temperature to make sure our stew wouldn't burn. She also cut up large pieces of kimchi for us as well. The inside of the restaurant is small and casual. I would come back again.

I love the lil extra goodies they include like the pineapple, mushroom, and cheese... so yum.... While we waited for the grill to get going, we snacked on the banchan. The pickled dishes and spring greens were especially refreshing and did a great job balancing out all the rich flavors to come. The highlight was definitely the meat. Everything was grilled perfectly and came out incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. What I loved most was how many different ways there were to enjoy each bite. You can dip the pork into the garlic oil sauce, add a little wasabi, pair it with the melted grilled cheese, wrap it with myeong yi, sprinkle on some salt, or simply enjoy the quality of the meat on its own. Every combination brought out a different flavor profile, so the meal never got repetitive. The soups were comforting and packed with flavor, making them a great complement to the barbecue. Overall, this was a really satisfying KBBQ experience. The quality of the pork stood out, the variety of accompaniments made every bite interesting, and the meal felt thoughtfully put together from start to finish. The restaurant was lively!

When I received my food 45 minutes later, it was the complete wrong order. I received a rose tteokbokki with ssal tteok. I mentioned this to the kind lady behind the counter and she remade my food. However, when I got the freshly made dish, it was still the wrong order. She remade the dish with garaetteok but it was still rose, and not the grandma style. As it was approaching a whole hour since ordering, I just accepted the food, even though I tried to explain to her that what I received was the wrong order. She told me that what I got was the grandma tteokbokki, which the dish was not since it was creamy and had sausage and bacon. I would have asked for another remake, but she had posted a sign that said the restaurant closes at 1:30pm, and it was shortly after that time. I was hoping to have a good time here since the reviews are great, but this experience makes me apprehensive to give the place a try again.
