We arrived early enough on a Friday evening and were seated on the AYCE side of the restaurant right away. If you are looking for cheap AYCE Korean BBQ, I'm not sure if anyone is less than $29.99 pp, seems there was a price increase in the last year, and rightly so as everything has gotten more expensive over time. As we sat, we were brought ban chan, salad, and water. Our order was taken and the meats were brought out pretty quickly. Luckily, our server missed one of our orders, and by the time we realized it, we were already finishing up the meal and wouldn't have any more space to eat more. We weren't sure if we were supposed to ask for the soup, but we weren't there for the soup, so... Ordered Strawberry shochu which came in a plastic shaker bottle, and fun little ladle-like cups for drinking. None of these tiny shot glasses! Dipping sauce is home made and pretty tasty when I mixed it with the oil and salt. When the bill came, my husband looked shocked, as it was nearly $90, when I asked the server, she explained that the 18% tip was included. I've heard of tip being automatically included for large parties, but there was just the 2 of us so it caught us off guard to see it on the bill. We went to Han Yang's at around 11:20 on a Friday. There was still parking in the small parking lot and the spaces are a little tight. There are two sections of the restaurant one is for Yakiniku style Korean barbecue and the other side is dine-in. Because we only had an hour for lunch break, we went to the restaurant. We ordered Korean pancake, fish jun and bimbimbap. They gave served us banchan and rice to share among the four of us for the meal. The Banchan was great, amazingly great, very flavorful, and they had their own twist to their recipes. The service was quick, but it took a while to figure out how to pay for the meal. I ended up going to the cashier to pay for the mean. They didn't really check in on us during the meal. The place is a little dated when it comes to furniture and decor. It needs to be updated. It makes me so sad to see this place has 3 stars. Since LuLu RaRa closed, this place has moved up to mine and my fiancé's favorite go to kbbq place! Even though we no longer live nearby, we still try to go out of our way to come here. It is now the least expensive AYCE kbbq place with good quality meats. Only $23.99 per person! The beef tongue and brisket is super tender, and they pre-season most of the meats so you don't even really need the dipping sauces much. The kimchi is super wet (just how I like it, but preferences vary), and their salad is good. You have an option of either seaweed soup or bean paste soup (the bean paste soup is one of the best on the island AND it's complimentary!!). They also have an array of alcohols and soju flavors, even makgeolli, which is hard to find in restaurants!! Anyone complaining about the service needs to calm down, there's only 3 ladies working every single day by themselves!! The owner and manager don't help (the 2 men you'll see in the FOH sometimes), so PLEASE be patient with them. We've been coming for years and they've always been very attentive and busting their butts!! Sometimes it takes a little longer for them to get to you, but just be patient and be nice! Such a great deal compared to those in town. They also offer intestines & beef tongue (my faves), seaweed soup or soybean paste soup included in the ayce. I wanted to try everything and everything was up to par (food wise). They also offer Kobe grade beef for no additional charge. Meat quality was very good. You can also order things off the menu like mandoo & japchae. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the customer service. You have to flag them down to get good service... I also found an employee who wasn't wearing a mask (Covid restrictions). You know it's an authentic Korean joint when you see the ahjussi coming in after work drinking soju and enjoying their meal. First, pricing is under $30. That's a steal for AYCE. But beware, they automatically include 18% tip without telling you. If our friends didn't warn us, we would have added tip on top the tip. Some of the servers are pleasant (as pleasant as it gets at a Korean BBQ restaurant), but some are outright rude and will ignore you if they're busy. We lucked out this time with a nice server. I like this place because they give a lot of meat per order. Since you can only order 3 orders at a time, large orders are nice. The food was good... as are most Korean BBQs. What was special about this one was their banchan. Everything was tasty. The lettuce salad is deceiving. Sounds bland and we almost told our server not to bring it. Be careful folks, the owner lady tried to give my party of 4 leftover kalbi from prior table. I ordered kalbi (ala cart - which is more expensive vs ACE). Portions were very generous, tho admittedly we're not big eaters, and the ban chan (side dishes) was fresh and very tasty. Wow I can't believe I haven't written a review about this place! Han Yang is our go-to for cheap but GOOD AYCE yakiniku. Yes it's a super hole in the wall place in Kalihi but for $19.99 AYCE, it's a steal! The meat is not crappy meat. It's legit. They have a good selection to choose from plus they give you all the banchan and even soup. If you want better quality meat, I would choose this place over Gen any day. This place is a hidden gem! Also I love that the owner is really friendly as well as the staff. You don't get that in a lot of Korean restaurants.. I can say that, I'm Korean! Lol. I have been a Han Yang customer many, many years ago, and it was my favorite Korean restaurant, before Korean restaurants were "in". After many years, we went back for the $19.99 all you can eat yakiniku buffet! You have many choices of meats, beef, BBQ pork and BBQ chicken. I was all about the beef! Got kalbi, garlic steak, and salted steak. Its all you can eat, and the meat portions are quite large, so large that I couldn't order any more. You can say im a light weight when it comes to buffets, can't eat like before. Also comes with rice, a few banchan, and choice of seaweed soup or bean paste stew. Why the 3 stars? Well, first of all, the service wasn't stellar, or even good. We were the only customers in the restaurant for lunch (about 1130 am) but the server seemed very disinterested, almost bothered. Well anyway, got the buffet, and chose our meats. Ordered kalbi, but its not really kalbi, its kalbi flavored beef. Still tasted good, but then, it's not shortrib. I remember when it was $19.99, now it's over $30. The owner (david?) kept saying it's due to the cost of the meat prices, yet you have Gen's that still have their $19 lunch specials and have not increased it at all. A mixed bag summarized by the statement, it's a really good value for AYCE priced at $19.99 per person, the quality of the food unfortunately matches the amount you pay. Ideal for folks who like mast quantities of meat (like my late younger brother) or newbies to Korean BBQ. Let's start with the positives, the sides are pretty good, kim chee, potato, bean sprouts, seaweed soup are all worthy of re-fills. We were puzzled after asking for more potato that the waitress said can't order more, all out, is she speaking for all sides or just the potato? Korean kalibi - marinated for too long, it's overly sweet and seasoned, could barely taste the meat. At least it was tender and soft. The salted kalbi and garlic short ribs are better choices. Beef brisket - the beef is too tough, wished that they cut the meat a bit thinner to compensate. Decent marbling gives you false hope. Kobe "meat" - this is a weird description, best guess is flank or bottom sirloin steak, certainly not "Kobe" quality. Has a brownish hue, not exactly appetizing. Not tender or soft. Garlic flap "tenderloin" - I used the quotes for a reason, this is the toughest "tenderloin" that I've ever encountered, more like a prime version of round steak (if such a grading for round steak exists?). Avoid this choice or if you don't believe me, limit to half order just to try. It's not exactly the cleanest of places, our table was a little sticky and the decor a little worn and dated. Other Yelpers gave very bad comments about the service, we found it to be ok, not exactly friendly but very quick and efficient. WARNING - they charge a 15% tip automatically. Han Yang is both yakiniku and you can order off the menu at their restaurant. Inside is clean, and there's both female and male restrooms to use. There's plenty of seating available but it can get busy. They do take reservations depending on the amount of people in your party. They use pork fat to oil up the grill, but they also will pour oil if you tellem not to. Their meat portions depend on how many people are in your party, but even if just two people, they load it up. The tofu soup comes off their menu, and that itself can feed like 5 people which is about $17. The AYCE is $29.99 for ages 10 and up. 4 years and under is free. Kinda pricey, but as long as you eat a lot. Also, they automatically add a 15% gratuity tip no matter how many is in your party. The ladies aren't as vigilant to the tables and only come to you when you let them know you need more water or food. It's worth it here if you eat a lot, but just don't expect a five star service read more

If you've never been here before, look for diners and turn into the parking lot. Easy to miss if you don't know where it is. They open early (10am!) and the food is good. I think we went too early because they were still setting up when we walked in lol. I loved the spicy bbq pork and pork belly, my faves when I eat yakiniku. We had to ask for refills on the side dishes, rice and water but again that might be our fault for going in so early. Will try to go again a little bit later in the day to see if they have better service. Price is reasonable too, I believe it was $22.99. This is honestly my favorite all you can eat, and the quality of the meat is amazing. The owner hand cuts every slice of meat to order. They're always so attentive and kind. The cucumber kimchee and bean sprouts are my favorite side dishes. The David's special sauce is a must have! The meat is always the best and you can always see them slicing it! For $25 + 15% gratuity, this is my favorite and highest quality AYCE yakiniku. The service, the food, the price, all of it is amazing! A local place that is not easy to find. This was my first time having yakiniku. If you have a group, definitely fun! Prices are reasonable. Unlike other reviews, servers were lovely. Perhaps a bit slow and we never got our chicken but we had eaten enough. Some meats were better than others. The ribeye was a bit tough. Short rib was awesome. Let's get straight to the point... this eatery in Kalihi gets 2 stars mainly because of the service. Chronologically here is a look at our experience: We enter and are seated with no menus and no water for a few minutes. After asking for water and a drink menu they come to take our order, but realized we are not ready. There is a $29.99 all you can eat with the meat options on the wall. But we were never given any other options. We had to go up to the cashier again to get a drink menu. Waitress comes over to tell us we can order 3 things. So we just opt to get the AYCE since it seems the easiest - get the brisket, bbq chicken and garlic steak. Banchan is served with water, the portions are small and only include potato, kim chee, cucumber, bean sprouts and romaine lettuce salad. Brisket comes out and it is a heaping volcano of meat on a plate, chicken is also a very generous portion and the steak was much smaller. Honestly the meats were delicious, the portions are out of control because there is so much food you can't really order anything else. We flagged down a waitress to ask for more banchan 3 times, asked for a change to the grill 5 times and tried to order again 2 times but they are very short, rude and act like they don't understand or repeat what you say but never come back. One lady did change our grill eventually after we could see her changing the grill of the other tables around us, after we asked for the 6th time as it was covered in black and layered with a huge thick layer of residue and carcinogens. We were never able to get any more banchan, food or any other service. You go up to the cashier to pay the check, no one came back to serve us or help us. We turned off the burner and no one bussed the table. We paid, left cash tip and walked out. Come to find out from other posts that if you get the AYCE, tip of 18% is already included for this terrible non existent service. I gave 2 stars just because the food was actually tasty but the overall experience was definitely the worst yakiniku and probably the worst service I've ever had in my life. It made the angry korean lady look like a dream. In the end we would never go back. Love to come here for AYCE yakiniku. It's probably the most reasonably priced AYCE place you can find on the island. The food here is simple, which is part of what makes it so good. Their banchan (side dishes) are super good and I love the salad they have here. It can be pretty busy so I recommend reservations, especially during peak days/times. They're a small shop with the same workers each time so service can be a bit slow when they're busy. So if you come during peak times, bring your appetite but also your patience. read more

But what's amazing is they've got KAlBI-TANG and let me tell you it's on my top 5!!! When they walk out with it in a hot big bowl steaming cloud and smelloicious!!! You know it's yummy in your tummy! Other is there 3 choice combo too! Their prices a affordable for the amount of food they serve.
