Keep in mind it does get busy and there are three ladies that bust ass to serve when it's busy so you have to be patient. From the times I have been here we really weren't timed when we ate, but we tried to eat fast as we could so we don't keep others waiting. The price also did increase after Covid. Only thing is they don't enforce the 6 ft rule and masks. I read a lot of negative reviews about the slow service, however each time I ate here our service was good. Yes they take awhile to come back to check on you but they do stack up your meats each round so you can enjoy until you order your next round. Located in Kalihi, next to Guieb Cafe, the parking lot if a bit small and compact but I never seem to have a problem finding parking. I was very excited to try this restaurant because the menu looked promising and the price wasn't too bad. I love beef tongue, so it was just a must. I made a reservation for a table of five at 12PM on a Saturday to celebrate my friends birthday. When we entered the restaurant, we weren't exactly welcomed. No smiles or greetings. They just asked how many in the party. The restaurant is a bit small, so I thought it was best to make a reservation but I didn't have to give my name for the reservation since they weren't busy. There was only one other party of two. In regards to COVID protocols, they didn't take our temperature, but they had us write down our information for contact tracing purposes. Also, when the restaurant became busy, they didn't do any social distancing between the tables. We were sat down fast, but they separated us between two tables. We asked if we could move to a bigger table so we all could sit on one table, but they wouldn't let us. We could have put a chair at the end of the table, but they also said no. There is no vent for the smoke and they didn't adjust the aircon so it was a bit warm in the restaurant. When the waitress came to take our order, we asked for a little bit of time, and she seemed annoyed. After 5 minutes she came back and she told us we were only allowed to order four orders per table, which was fine. We ended up ordering 3 orders of beef tongue, 2 orders of garlic kobe beef, and 3 orders of brisket. On the menu it says that the AYCE comes with either seaweed soup or soy bean paste soup, when we asked if we could order one, she completely ignored me and walked away. WE NEVER GOT ANY SOUP. The banchan came out first and it was shoyu potatoes, kimchi, kimchi cucumber, salad, and bean sprouts. I wasn't a fan of the potatoes because it was overcooked and mushy. There was no bite to it. The sauces they offer is the typical sesame oil with salt and their signature sauce. I preferred the simple sesame oil with salt, but the signature sauce paired well with the kobe beef and the kalbi (we ordered later). The signature sauce was a shoyu based sauce that had a tangy taste to it. It is similar to teriyaki sauce or the generic Korean marinade sauce, but a bit more savory than that. The meat took about 10 minutes to arrive. We were surprised because they gave us a lot of the kobe beef on one table even thought we only ordered 1 order. Come to find out, the other table didn't get theirs and they only got their brisket. The brisket and the beef tongue was so good. Me and my friend were so surprised at how yummy and tender the beef tongue was. We like it crispy, so we kept it on longer and it was perfection. My friends who had the brisket also enjoyed it. However, the garlic kobe beef was just dreadful. It was dry and had no taste to it. We tried to cook it less, but there was just no saving it. That's why it was best with their signature sauce. After our first order, the restaurant started getting busier and the tables started to fill up. There was only the one lady waiting the tables and I honestly felt so bad for her. I didn't understand why the men at the register couldn't help. He walked by and said our grill had to be changed, but didn't do it himself. We had to flag down our waitress because she was not coming by our table at all! Thankfully, another lady from the back came out after about 15 minutes of waiting to make another order. She refilled our side dishes, water, while our original waitress took our other order and switched out the grill. When our grill was changed, it had this green stuff on it. I wasn't sure what it was, but when while we were waiting for our other meat to come out, we used the fat she initially gave us to oil the pan and we used napkins to wipe the green stuff off. It took more than 20 minutes for our next order to arrive which consisted of 6 orders of beef tongue, 1 order of kalbi, and 1 brisket. I was VERY disappointed because the beef tongue serving they gave for both tables amounted to just two orders (one per table). They gave us more kalbi and brisket. At this point, I was thinking that they didn't want us to eat beef tongue or maybe they got the amount wrong. We didn't even bother ordering more meat because the service was taking so long. Our waitress didn't checked on us, barely walked past our table, which is funny because she was waiting on the table behind us and instead of walking past our table she walked the other way and avoided us. I felt so bad and I understand how hard it is to wait tables. The owners of the restaurant need to do something about this. First off this is a place for those who can put down lots of meat. If you are not one of those skip down to the "Pro Tip" at the bottom as you will see why. This place kind of reminds me of a sports bar / AYCE yakiniku. They have TV's so you can watch your favorite game while grinding. Although now with hardly any sports going on you might be watching some old games. This place isn't the most fancy atmosphere like some other places but the price is reasonable and the food is good. For $19.95 per person, that is pretty good if you ask me. The waitress came up to with water and asked if we wanted to get anything else to drink. (You can do BYOB but it's a $5 per person corkage fee). My better half ordered some soju. They also brought a bunch of banchan (side dishes). You are allowed to start off with up to 4 different meat options from their menu of 14 different kinds of meats. We got the Korean Kalbi, Garlic Short Ribs, Brisket and the Pork Belly. When they came with the plates of meat (remember when I said this place is for those who can put down lots of meat?), they came with these huge plates piled high of meat. I thought they were going to give us what we wanted to take from those plates but oh no, they left the plates there and walked away. Remember all those signs you read about getting charged for wasting food? I wonder if they give so much thinking they would charge us for not eating it all??? I read that's how they do it there. Maybe they don't want to keep coming back to give more meat. But hey it was only the two of us. What they didn't know is that I can eat, (well back in the day I could). Reluctantly we unhinged our jaws and unbuttoned our pants and dug in. The guy came back to check on us and I think he was amazed as we were almost done. Just a few more pieces to go. So you are not into AYCE yakiniku but you want to eat something while your friends / family is pigging out? Don't worry they have all the traditional Korean foods you can order. They have Bi Bim Bap, Kalbi & Kimchee pot stew, Seafood Pan Cake, Meat Jun, and Mandoo Soup just to name a few. Some negatives about this place is that it is usually hard to find parking. It is not unusual to drive around and around looking for parking. Another one some people find annoying is that they add on 15% gratuity to the bill. Now for myself that isn't a problem as I usually tip more unless the service and food was a disaster, then it's not happening which I can't picture at they place happening. Pro Tips: If you are not a big eater and or you want to try other types of meat, ask for small order right in the beginning. If they bring you too much from the start, tell them to take back some before they leave. Once they drop the food and leave it is too late... you will have to finish it. Haven't been here since I graduated a couple of years back and since I was in the area and craving kbbq, I talked it up to my boyfriend and convinced him to go. We were the first customers of the day and walked in to all the workers sitting together on one of the tables, lady asked "how many", I responded with "two please" and she waved her hand to direct us to our table. No welcome, no hi, just a "how many" and wave. Seemed to me that we were interrupting a conversation. So we just sat down and waited quite a bit for our waters and for her to take our order. I'm one to treat servers kindly as Ive been in the industry, I ordered with constant use of the word please and thank you yet only got an okay as a response as she walked away to punch in our orders. I'm sitting there taking in the rudeness, confused because it's not like your slammed... we are literally the first customers of the day. Food comes and there is no communication with us. She drops the food in front of us and as she's turning on the grill she shoves the tongs in my face to grab it from her. I take it and she walks away. As we ate, our water empties and so does our banchan. No one checks on us. We're still the only customers in the restaurant yet angry Korean lady is on her phone as we're purposely sipping on our straws to make it known our waters are empty. At the point I just yelled across the room "excuse me" to get her attention. A "what" is all that's said. We asked for our banchan, water, and a grill change but at the point we were over it and didn't have much of an appetite. They do charge for leftovers but we were at the point where we just didn't care and wanted to get out of there. We turned off the stove ourselves as there was no fans ventilating and the smoke was gathered heavily in the restaurant even though we were the only customers in there. We waited for the check to be brought to us and nothing for over 5-10 minutes. We decide to just walk up to the register ourselves. My boyfriend and I are always one to tip even when service is horrible but in this case we mutually agreed that tip isn't even deserving at that point. We paid $74 and change for two ayce portions and made sure to put $0 for tip. Didn't think anything of it until we got to our car and realized that we basically paid $37 each for the both of us 11am on a Sunday morning. Odd because we saw signs everywhere that said "graduation special $29.99". We checked yelp and realized gratuity was added no matter how much people are in your party. It's upsetting because she gave herself a nearly $15 tip. Her rudeness was of no surprise now that we know they charge gratuity automatically. Service was horrible and that $10+ tip was not deserving after not being checked on once our entire meal. All I know is I used to go here so much in high school and never had issues. My favorite Korean restaurant to come to on island. Yes I said it...my favorite and it is better than GEN. I don't know how many people are missing this gem because it's one of a kind when it comes to quality and service. The brisket is my personal favorite the cut is perfect, it's not caked up with ice, and their house made sauce to pair along with it is good. Han's is an ALL YOU CAN EAT yakiniku place for $25.99 (as of Feb 2018). Though their AYCE menu isn't as extensive as Gen, the quality and flavor of the meat is better. There are fourteen different choices that you're able to choose from. My favorite were the garlic kobe and the garlic flap. The meat we ordered were tender and came out in HUGE servings. Like most yakiniku places, you have your regular panchans (kim chee, bean sprouts, lettuce/salad, mac salad, flavored potatoes), rice and soup. In regard to sauces, there is the oil/salt and a shoyu/kim chee flavored sauce. If you're not feeling yakiniku, you can also order regular Korean food. Half the restaurant is yaki and the other is a regular sit down. In regard to parking, there is a bunch; however, the lot is shared by a bunch of other places. If you decide for the left side, which is more traditional, everything is pretty good, especially the kalbi bone in, meat jun, fish jun and all the other juns. Here's the twist! They charge you 15% tip automatically . It was just the two of us , not a big party of people, just us two l. On a little vacay and wanted to meet some local friends for dinner. They chose this local KBBQ spot located off of the Waikiki strip - which is a good thing. I saw and read the reviews. I gave this spot the benefit of the doubt because my friends chose it. They said, "for the money, it's good." Usually, this remark is a warning for me. The restaurant is easy to find and is located in a "older" usiness complex with parking spots. If you couldn't find a spot in front, you could probably find one in the back. The inside of the restaurant is a bit dated. The tables are fixed due to the gas lines for the table top grill. Ventilation is bad. Your clothes will smell like BBQ. The table tops were a bit greasy and the chairs are the folding plastic type - the kind you would find at a Walmart or Target. Service was very slow. Menu items for the price ($23/person) was decent. Quality of the meat was just average. They ran out of Korean beer. Did I mention service was slow? It took forever to get the first round of meats ordered. It took a long time to get the banchan replenished, which by the way, didn't taste that fresh. Our server never smiled once nor did she have an ounce of Aloha to spread. Thankfully, our dinner party had plenty of conversation. If you are looking for good Korean BBQ in the Waikiki area, there are much better options such as Sura's. We were planning lunch for a week. It was the GM's 4 year anniversary and we decided to go out to lunch and celebrate. We let her choose the category and the reply we got was "I WANT MEAT". We started talking about all our favorite yakiniku places and we realized that they were all centralized in the AlaMoana/ Keeaumoku area. When we searched near our work place, one restaurant came up. Han Yang. And they offer all you can eat. It's settled. We can't all go to the Keeaumoku area so Han Yang it is. Just a five minute drive from the office. We made a reservation for four at 12:30. We got there on time but trying to find parking set us back five minutes....Good thing we all jumped into my van and carpooled! I circled the block and parked on the street right behind the lot. We checked other yelper's reviews and found that the food was supposed to be really good but the service was something to be desired. We're in Kalihi, so I wasn't expecting the quality of the Keeaumoku area restaurants and we're not going to fraternize with the waitresses so the expectation level was on the lower side. The yelpers didn't let us down. There was one cheerful lady and one with zero personality. Guess which one was serving us? Like I said, we weren't going to make friends with the waitress so we really didn't care, just as long as the food was good. We were given a menu with around a dozen different cuts of meat. We ordered a Kalbi, Brisket, Tongue and Chicken. Well, the food didn't disappoint! The kalbi was boneless, and the marinade was very flavorful. The thinly sliced tongue was excellent, as was the chicken. I don't know if they doubled up on the order of briskets but they were exceptionally generous with the portion. We totally destroyed the tongue, kalbi and chicken so we ordered an additional tongue and decided to try the salted Kobe beef. We still had brisket... The second order of tongue arrived and a while later, the Kobe beef. I've had Kobe beef in Japan, and it was extremely marbled. All you need to do is set it on the grill for a few seconds each side. Any more than that and the fat content will incinerate the meat. Pop it in your mouth, chew three or four times and it evaporates. That is Kobe beef. What came out was a Kobe strain beef. No marbling, no fat content that causes it to spontaneously combust. However, even when handling the portion, I could sense the tenderness of the cut. It was really tender. Not melt-in-your-mouth, but really tender, and I'll give them that. We polished up the tongue, Kobe beef and the pile of briskets and we were done. It was a great lunch overall. If you don't go in with expectations, you'll be quite satisfied. But a word of warning; there are no vacuum air ducts so you will reek of yakiniku smoke probably for a couple of days. We all went back to the office, trailing the aroma of Eau de Kalbi. And you won't get any work done after an all-you-can-eat lunch. We decided to call it a day and closed up shop early... The food was very good. Absolutely the best vegetable fried rice I've ever had and a very generous portion! Found menu on line before arriving. Received only short menu there so recommend google search for menu photo. One thing about the servers, there were only 2 ladies for the whole place and they had other duties as well. They had to bus and clean the tables. The place was full of customers so I understand why they have to prioritize their service. The chairs are hard plastic folding ones so if you need a soft seat I recommend bringing a cushion. I asked, can't hurt to ask, if they had one and in a few minutes the lady found one and brought it out to me. It was very comfortable. It's comfortably warm so not cold air conditioning. For $19.99 a person, all-you-can-eat yakiniku, this place is a steal compared to the bigger and more popular places. Hidden in the a small shopping plaza in the heart of Kalihi, next to Sakana Grill, Kikuya, and Diners. The cute ajummas working here are what you'd expect of any Korean restaurant--always hustling. These ladies never stopped moving the whole entire time we were here and they were suuuuuper generous. We ordered three half-orders of various meats but I swear these orders were mini mountains. And these meat mountains were not made of the junk pieces, let me tell you--if I were a bigger meat eater I'd say we struck gold because we got super fresh, and generous cuts of everything. Everything combined made me feel like I was back in Korea, their sides/banchan were super yummy and authentic tasting. I swear I had a little bit of deja vu because for a second I felt like I magically teleported back to Korea... Maybe it was the meat sweats I was getting after plowing through the mountains of meat. Lately I've been on a mission to find the best hole in the wall restaurants. This would be one of my favourites! Their meat jun is to die for, they give a lot for only $11.50. I've not tried their AYCE but other yelpers seem to be fans of it. Fast service although it does get busy during dinner time. I'll be back again and again! read more

My family and I dined in for dinner and we got denied to order more food. We purchased the buffet. The owner told us no, and that he didn't want us to waste food. We didn't like the beef tongue, He actually got mad and questioned our party asking why we didn't like it. He didn't want to waste so he actually took the extra beef tongue off of our table and saved it to give to someone else. We also had to change our grill out , the server put our food that was on the grill on the FLOOR and when she got the fire started she put our food back on the fire that was on the floor. read more

This place gets a solid 4 stars. The food here is so fresh. It's yakiniku, so you get to grill your own meats. All the meats that we ordered came out blood red, nothing brownish in color. It's a good deal for all you can eat at $22.99. I came here with Nadine, Cathy, and Gary. We decided on kalbi, salted short ribs, salted kobe meat, bbq beef, bbq chicken, and pork belly. Everything that we had was good and flavorful. We especially liked the kalbi and pork belly. If you grill the pork belly long enough, it turns to bacon. The banchan was also excellent. I loved the salad and the dressing it came with. They choy sum and kim chee were also good. The kim chee wasn't too spicy and seasoned just right. I'm not a macaroni salad person but theirs was pretty good. I actually ate half a bowl. The restaurant itself needs a major makeover. It just looked dingy and not very up to date. If you're looking for a nice place to dine, this isn't the place for you. However, if you don't care about the ambience and just want to eat good food, I would highly recommend this place. read more

First time at Han Yang last night. We enjoyed our yakiniku buffet. Service was great for being packed. Unlike many places that gives you a certain serving size we could ask for just a little bit more meat so we could make sure we finished it without having to stuff ourselves to make sure we ate it all. We did the AYCE option $25.99 and it was okay. Service was good because we were the only party (6 people) on that side of the restaurant. The restaurant is divided in two, AYCE and regular menu. They have 14 different meat options but I only cared for their brisket and pork belly. The salted kobe and korean kalbi were chewy and not to my liking. However, their sauces and salad were delicious. My fiance ordered for us while I went to the bathroom, and it was only two of us eating AYCE (on our side of the table, since the party of 6 was divided) and the other person ordered her own from the menu, and they gave a lot! Half the plate was ALL pork belly (too much for us). After they served us the raw meat and my fiance started cooking, I saw the sign posted on the walls saying to inform the waiter if there's too much meat, before you start cooking and they'll take some away. Parking is hard to find. Just have to be patient and hope someone is leaving. Overall we agreed the experience was okay.. read more
