It was my first time here in Phoenix and after a long 6 hour drive from San Diego, my boyfriend and I decided to look for a place to grab a bite! It was around 9 PM so not too many places were open. We absolutely love Mediterranean food so we chose Hana House. When we went inside we were immediately greeted by the hostess/cashier. She was super sweet! Once we made our decision, she rang us up and started waiting for our food. It didn't take as long as I had imagined it to and the food was absolutely delicious. It tasted AUTHENTIC. The food was so tasty! My family came into town for Christmas and we wanted to eat out on Christmas Eve. I called in advance to make sure they'd be open and happily they were! It was my first time here.. I've seen it when I was eating at the sushi place across the way and recently ran into someone who had been here and told me how good the food and service were.. and that was not a joke! We had the cheese egg roll things and falafel as appetizers and then for dinner we all had something different. Everything was very tasty and so tender! I will definitely be back! Lunch for two. We had wraps, tea and diet soda. The food was great! Really. The entrees listed actually have options. You can have the entree, a wrap or a bowl with hummus. The restaurant is impeccably clean. You get cloth napkins! (I was impressed by that, obvi). The service was spot on. It has been a while since I have been in a restaurant and to have such courteous, friendly, unobtrusive service was a highlight. All this for less than 18 bucks! We will be back. We visit family in Glendale regularly and discovered Hana House a few visits ago. It's now one of our "go to" spots when in town. Never disappointed with anything we've ordered. The service is great, they obviously care. I almost compelled myself to go back because of how warm and inviting the staff was... but, for one, I'm a vegetarian and there are little options. Also, recently I went in there to get the buffet food because I had to go back to work and was in a hurry. The waiter suggested that I skip it. I posted about an experience I had with Muhammad and Mustafa, where I suggested some other vegan options. Muhammad was very dismissive and acted like he was in too much of a hurry to acknowledge what I was attempting to share with him. I know their menu because I WAS a firsthand customer. I had their hummus and falafel. It was not bad, but didn't knock my socks off. Feeling dismissed, I made a comment to Muhammad as he walked away, that he took some displeasure with. He stopped and turned around and started yelling back at me. I approached him and reiterated to him that I wasn't looking for anything out of the deal, just some vegan food, and that I didn't appreciate him acting like I was bothering him, and wasting my time in the process. As I approached him, he grabbed a stick that he had set aside for instances like this apparently, when he treats someone with disrespect and ppl give it back. Apparently this isn't the first time, as the stick was placed right outside his door, so something tells me he has used or threatened to use it before. I, being amused by the stick, offered for him to hit me with the stick if he thought it was going to help him. To my surprise he actually did. I didn't approach him to fight and I didn't want to escalate the situation further, so I just left it alone, as he ran back inside his door. I tried calling the next day to resolve the situation. Mustafa cut me off halfway through my explanation of the events, and told me I would get my ass kicked if I came up there. Stay away, especially if you have any suggestions. read more

Very small proportions for the price. Incredibly greasy, dry pita bread, lettuce tasted like it was from the morning time. I feel like they were stingy with proportions for the price. Way too much sumac on the chicken shawarma and rice didn't taste authentic. Seemed rush and a lack of care in putting the food together. Was looking forward to a good meal, but very Disappointing.
