I am an ice cream connoisseur. So surprised to see how yummy the ice cream was. We were able to taste several different kinds of ice cream. Of course it's yummy it's all handmade daily. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable about their ice cream. I also was happy to see they had vegan options so I could bring home my grandsons favorite flavor. We purchased some pints to bring home and some to eat as we headed home. My absolute favorite was the mud pie. This is a great place to take a date or friends. I plan on going back often. read more

It's hard to be surprised about good ice cream. And being pregnant at the same time, I'm hard to satisfy. Never had much of a craving for sweets. And Handel's exceeded my exceptions for quality ice cream. I got a single scoop of monkey business. A single scoop is a comfortable serving size, stomach is nice and content. No regrets of eating too much. Monkey business flavor is banana based with swirls of caramel and bits of brownie. The banana is the main flavor you can taste but the accents of caramel and brownie compliment it very well. I'm usually not a banana type of gal but it was very good! I'd definitely recommend trying Handel's out, they have a ton of flavors to try and the servers are helping in helping you choose a flavor if you are indecisive! read more

Such amazing ice cream! I'm so glad they have a location now in Orem! This is definitely one of my favorite ice cream shops in Utah. Every flavor is so creamy and they have so many unique flavors! You are bound to find a few that you just can't live without. They don't have a kiddie size so I find that the best deal is to get a 4 scoop sampler for my kids to share. Sometimes when I'm feeling indecisive I get a sampler for myself! :) They have cute tiny baby cones that they give to babies and toddlers for free. My favorite flavors are French silk pie, banana cream pie, brownie dough, Oree dough, and monkey business. But you really can't go wrong with any of their flavors. Even the classics like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry are so great by themselves. Right now they have a seasonal special - fresh peach! It's made with peaches from a local orchard and it is absolutely amazing. Definitely give this place a try. So happy to have them in Orem!! read more

When we went to Handel's tonight there were around 3 kids (probably all less than 12 years old) behind the counter with the workers. We saw one kid put his fingers in his mouth and then try and put the lid on our milkshake. They were playing around with the workers and trying to scoop the ice cream. We have no idea what was going on but we were pretty disgusted and couldn't believe what was happening or why the workers were letting these kids play behind the counter and help with peoples orders. Definitley not safe for anyone, this should be reported. read more

There's no longer a kiddie size. There's no single scoops. The smallest size scoop is 2.5 scoops!!! I have such a problem with this. It is simply NOT healthy for a young child to eat that much ice cream (SUGAR) in one sitting. So I took two of my kids for a fun ice cream date. The only option was to pay for the 2.5 scoops but just have her only put one scoop in. So it cost me $10 to get a single scoops for my littles. WHY?????? So not ok. read more

Provo has a lot of competition for best ice cream. I think Handel's is one of my favorite ice cream places in the area for pints/quarts. Plenty of good flavors, particularly the French Silk Pie. Milkshakes are good too. Solid 4/5-- it's nothing fancy or exotic, but it's great for a quick dessert run. read more

Finally they opened a location in Orem. It's the best ice cream in town. I highly recommend getting your flavor of choice made into a shake. You can't go wrong, all flavors are amazing. Went to Handel's for the first time today and it was amazing! The staff are really friendly and nice. They took really great care of us. The store is super clean and tidy. Even though there are COVID restrictions, we were still able to have samples! All of the samples were so yummy it made it so hard for my husband and I to choose what flavors we wanted. The guy that helped us out did an awesome job. He even told us they have a 4 flavor sampler. Unfortunately we didn't end up getting it but it's something we will definitely be getting next time! But the portions were awesome! The double was more than plenty for the two of us. They have a nice little seating bench that you can sit at and chat with friends or family. We went around 3pm so there wasn't really anyone else in the store (other than the staff) so I was able to catch up with some cousins while they were visiting. My cousins LOVED the ice cream as well.
