Had Bill do several jobs for us this summer. He is always on time and works very hard. He does great work. He installed 3 ceiling fans for us and changed our all our electrical switches and sockets. He demolished our wet bar area and built wood shelves. We removed a very old trash compactor and Bill installed a pull out trash drawer and built a new cabinet front that matches our existing cabinet doors. He is an excellent woodworker. Bill is extremely kind and willing to do most anything except drywall or lay flooring. Just be sure to have some Dr. Pepper for him to drink!!! Thanks again Bill for all your help this summer. I had a ceiling bathroom exhaust fan that broke down and needed to be replaced. I got as far as ripping out the old fan on my own, but I'm not handy enough to install a new one, so I called Bill and he did a great job. How not handy am I?.... Bill: (looking at the hole in ceiling): Should be pretty easy. So where's your new fan? Me: New fan? You don't bring fans? Bill: No. Me: You-....you don't bring new fans, it doesn't work that way? Bill: No. Bill was very kind and patient enough to drive with me to Home Depot (luckily less than five minutes away) and pick up a new fan. He pointed out what to look for in a good fan and how much you should spend. When we got back, he installed it quickly and even gave me some pointers on how to replace another bathroom fan I have downstairs. I think I'll leave that to myself in my quest to become more handy. He came out to help me with a lighting replacement in the main entry that I just could not reach (way too high) and then we talked about the door. He gave me advice, drew up some sketches with ideal dimensions for when I was ready to order, and came back about a month later after it was delivered for the install. This was a pre-hung door that ended up being anything but pre-hung. It was disassembled, dimensions were off, fit was wonky, and nothing about the door worked. He spent the day getting it to fit including some framing and a ton of trim work. I am beyond happy with the end result. I needed a handful of repairs made, one of them which i thought would require some "advanced" carpentry (replacement/repair of a door frame). We actually were wondering if we would need a contractor or if handyman would be able to do it. Bill was able to repair the door frame without replacing fully and also took care of our other small jobs. He came with some pretty fancy tools that I don't think your "average" handyman would utilize. Not sure if he didn't have those the work would've been done so nicely. He was knowledgeable, experienced and did not upsell me. I would def use him again! **I will admit the communication via text (per his request) was a little sporadic. If you have an urgent need, I would definitely make it clear. We were not in a hurry, so I was fine waiting for the responses and I did not make an effort to follow up. I needed assistance installing / integrating a large piece of furniture - a wine bar - facing several complications in the process: uneven floor, integrating into existing wainscot. Not having quite the experience needed to do so myself, or any of the several tools (I otherwise would have had to pay to rent the required tools), I needed someone who could show-up prepared with the know-how and tools necessary to get the job done, and get the job done right (which was crucial to keeping the wife happy). I also needed assistance installing an in-ceiling ventilation fan in the bathroom. Communicating with Bill leading up to the work was easy and he was fairly responsive. Took a little bit longer to get on his schedule than I had hoped, but because he does good work, he's undoubtedly in high demand and very busy. Not like an automatic reply robot. When I reached out again this past Saturday to schedule an appointment, he had an opening for that coming Monday morning. The door didn't come with the greatest instructions, but he took the time to understand and digest instead of just diving into installing. I returned to work and received a call in a couple hours that he was finished. Since I couldn't be there to see the result, he explained how the installation had gone.
