Crepes hold a special place in my heart. I eat them when I celebrate or when something special happens. I found myself at Hangar Cafe during my first trip to Seattle, completely unprepared for the relentless rain after having landed in Seattle much earlier than expected. With nowhere to go and a hankering for breakfast food, my boyfriend and I caught an Uber over to Hangar Cafe with our suitcases in hand. I was very appreciative that Hangar was open so early. It's a cozy little spot for breakfast. The staff were very welcoming and quick to provide us with water and menus. Hangar seems to be a great spot to catch up in the morning or even conduct a business meeting. It's not the most spacious, but the tables can be rearranged to accommodate a larger group. I loved the atmosphere of this cute cafe. These Hangar crepes were some of the best crepes I have ever eaten. The portions were fulfilling and it was easy to see that they were made with fresh batter, vegetables, and seasonings. I hope to visit Hangar Cafe again when I find myself in Seattle. read more

Came with a group of friends and got to try a good selection of their crepes. The market was my favorite savory one and the simple butter and powdered sugar was the best sweet crepe. This place is very tiny and can get crowded so plan on a wait, parking can be an issue but parking on the street is available. read more

Stopped by here on our last day in Seattle. Cute little exterior, and very small interior. You can see everything going on in the "kitchen" area. I had the Market Crepe, which was a savory crepe with bacon, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomato (opted), spinach and topped with poblano and creme fraiche. And it was served with a side of home fries. It was a very good portion and so delicious. I loved every bite of it. I had a cup of coffee and orange juice as well. The coffee, although it was just regular drip coffee, was really delicious! Not burnt. They use a great bean roast. Service was very so-so. We, a party of three, sat comfortably at a booth. But all of the tables were very close to one another. It was a very small space, and I could see some other guests looked uncomfortable either being sat at a small table or being too close to other guests. The lady serving us was so nice, however, our food took FOREVER to come out. We drank a good 3 cups of coffee each before we got our food. I can't wait to go back! We heard a passing remark about crepes in an Evening Magazine piece on Georgetown and had to look it up, and boy are we glad we did! It's a cozy place, and we were promptly made to feel right at home. Everyone was so friendly. We started with some tasty mimosas, served with strawberry slices. Yum! Then we both had the Hangar Crepe, and like our server said, the roasted Poblano pepper puree drizzled on top is like crack. It will keep you coming back for more! Ahhhhh, what can I say, I'm addicted!! This is a perfect little find on the outskirts of Gerogetown. A little house converted to a great neighborhood cafe, nestled right below the Boeing flight path. If you don't mind the noise from the occassional low flying aircraft, the food will certainly make you not care about the noise! My wife had me make a deal with her that each time we would eat here, we would have to try something new. So, today I had the turkey sandwich and the potatoe / bacon soup. The freshest multi-grain bread was the perfect wrapping for the fresh, thinly cut (real) turkey, a thin layer of cream cheese, tomato, avocado, and lettuce (the REAL lettuce, not the fake iceberg kind). Such a light, fresh tasting sandwich with just the perfect creamy flavor from the cream cheese. The potato / bacon soup was not heavy, it was small chunks of potato with generous portions of bacon in a nice broth. Such a nice way to enjoy a filling, yet not so heavy lunch. My friend took me to this place when I was in Seattle for the weekend. This is like hidden gem outside of downtown Seattle. The place is small and cozy with an outdoor patio. From outside, it looks like that house deep in the wood from one of those fairy tales. The food here was good. It is more like homemade still. I got The Blat on the grill section and My friend got turkey pesto from the savory crepe. Mine was ok but nothing special. The one my friend got was really good though. The flavor is very well balanced with ton of cheese. I would only rate 3 stars because I think the food can be much better. That one extra star is for the service. The waitress was really nice and friendly. So if you are looking for a place to hide from the chaos, this is a great place. Definitely check out crepe or waffle here. P/S. Best savory crepes I have ever had. A few things to consider when going here, (1) this is a smaller place so best in smaller groups, (2) street parking nothing insurmountable, (3) as it is a smaller place there are few wait staff and lines may form at certain times of the day because they are a bit popular. If you can get though all that you are in for quite possibly the best crepes you have ever had too. The first time we went there was a short wait, but it was so worth the wait we went back again a couple day later. Again, we were so happy that we are a little sad to be going home from vacation. After three visits, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. This place is cute but it's overpriced and frankly, I don't think the food is all that good. On my most recent visit, I went for breakfast about 9 on a Monday morning. It was NOT busy but it still took 20 minutes to get my order of the Caprese crepe, the only savory crepe on the menu that was less than $10. Seriously? It's BREAKFAST, people! And with a beverage, that definitely takes it out of the "one $" category. My server brought me coffee when she took my order but then never checked back; another server who brought my breakfast refilled my coffee cup, but that was 20 minutes after my first cup. Most of the savory crepes come with the house poblano basil vinaigrette dressing that is tasty but often fights with the other ingredients. For example, the delicate flavors of basil in my crepe were completely overwhelmed by the chili flavors. Plus, there was too much cheese and not enough tomato or basil in the crepe. Another thing: when my server saw me smacking the side of the ketchup bottle to get some out for the roasted potatoes (which were the highlight of the meal), she suggested I run my knife into the bottle to get the ketchup out. I cannot adequately express what a BAD IDEA that is, and that a food service "professional" should suggest it is just horrifying. There is far too much potential for contamination of the ketchup, either from some other food on the knife or from someone who actually licked off their knife before putting it in the bottle. Yes, I've actually seen that happen IN A RESTAURANT! Do you REALLY want to suggest that people put their germs into the bottle for others to enjoy? While I love supporting small, local businesses, there are others around with better food and more reasonable prices than the Hangar Cafe. read more

I so wanted to give this place 4 stars but I just couldn't. Ordered: - pomegranate, lime, ginger juice--- amazing! Hangar crepe- the sliced red onions were sliced too big. I think if the onions were caramelized it would've been a lot better. The crepe was amazing, very fresh and perfectly cooked. Melt in your mouth actually but my side of potatoes are just so so sad. I mean I think they ran out of potatoes and tries to split the serving between 3 people? W all got a tbsp worth of side potatoes. They were so good too but wow portion wise, it's should not be considered a side. Service- it's was so so. Took a while to get our food. I mean a while. Like almost 45 mins. Luckily we were there to chitchat but still. They did apologize but It was way too long to wait. They also never refilled out water and my gf's tea. She had to ask them to bring more hot water. The place was very cute I will give it that. It felt very homey which I guess is important when it comes to being comfortable. It was also a very small location but the patio outside looked nice. For the amount of people that were waiting for a table the food disappointed me. It was nothing special and is truly the same quality as something that could be made at home. There were not very many food options in general but they were all basic items. Also the food portions were pretty small compared to other places. I ordered the Nutella crepe with strawberries but like mentioned earlier I've made the same thing at home and liked it better and was able to make enough to keep me full, same with the other food the people in my party ordered it was small and food you could get anywhere else. I most likely would not come here again, especially because the prices were pretty high for small portions and basic food, but the service was pretty good. read more

I finally got to have lunch at the Hangar, and it wasn't a disappointment, at all. As usual, I tried some new.... I went with the grilled turkey club. It was wonderfully made. The mixture of tastes, combined with a grilled bread, made it hard for me to eat slowly. I just wanted bite after bite. Also, the staff was, once again, beyond friendly. I am surprised each time we go to the Hangar, and find that the staff will take time to just converse with us.... especially when we got when they aren't packed. Came here Saturday for brunch. The interior is very small with limited seating (and no, you can't call ahead to put your name on the list - womp womp). Limited number of griddles to make the crepes. The server did warn us that the food would take 45 minutes (seriously?) to come out. We ordered immediately and drank our coffee and began the waiting game. I must've had about 3 cups of coffee before my food came. I ordered the turkey pesto - savory crepe with turkey, egg, spinach, tomato, and pesto. I was definitely underwhelmed. From the long food wait to the high Yelp reviews, my crepe left me wanting more. It was very flat and definitely needed much much more filling. The server was very sweet and I always appreciate being warned about a long wait. This meal, however, did not feel like it justified the wait. I probably wouldn't come back (especially since there are so many great restaurants closer to home), but if I was forced to- I would definitely try to sweet crepes next. read more

I hadn't ever tried a savory crepe before, and my boyfriend always says "The Hangar" whenever I mention crepes, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Turns out, I should've done more research, because this wasn't really my kind of place. I got a crepe with ham, egg, and mozarella cheese. The ham and mozarella were great. I thought the egg was going to be scrambled, but it wasn't. I guess it was in there somewhere; I couldn't really see any signs of it. The crepe itself was more like a Japanese crepe than a Swedish pancake. It was dry, tasteless, and it didn't have the density that I love in a good crepe. That didn't ruin the savory crepe; it actually tasted okay, despite the actual crepe not being that good. The ham and mozarella made up for it. Unfortunately, the Nutella crepe didn't fare so well. Since all it had was Nutella, flavorless crepe, and whipped cream (which had completely melted by the time it came to the table), it was pretty unremarkable, and I didn't really even want to eat it. The potatoes were cooked well, but I wasn't a fan of the seasoning. The bacon was hard and overcooked. My boyfriend got biscuits and gravy, which was one of the specials. He said it was good, but it had a maple flavor that threw him off a bit. They could've been more generous with the potatoes; you hardly get any at all. Very cute and cozy atmosphere. Staff is super friendly. Two outdoor patios, but it was fun sitting inside watching them make the food! Ordered the turkey pesto crepe, very good and light!! But the best part has to be watching the planes fly over head at about 100ft on approach into Boeing field. Very cool and loud!! We went at 1230 on a Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table. Food was slow coming out but they did let us know it will take about 45 mins to get our food. No big deal if you aren't in a hurry. Will definitely be going back!! read more

Good food and yummy mimosas although not a lot of bubbly. Had the lemon ricotta waffle (I recommend the berry compote on the side as it made the waffle a little soggy but still tasty), bread pudding french toast, and the breakfast burrito. I was charged $2 extra for the meat substitute although the burrito that came with meat substitute was the same price and had more things in it. I can't believe I forgot to review this place! The boy and I came here when it was still warm and sunny (remember those days? I do so very vaguely) and watched the planes take off from Boeing Field. The service was a little strange, I somewhat remember the server not bringing us water or not wiping down the tables or something else silly that left us perplexed, but he was nice and it wasn't really a big deal. We had coffee (Stumptown!), the Hangar crepe and the daily special, which I sadly can't recall at the moment but I do remember it was delicious. They both were. I went here with my sister and this restaurant is my fave in Georgetown by far. The server was great and created a positive ambiance. I used to work in the food and beverage industry, so when a server can create this experience the first few minutes is huge. My sister and I shared an APPLE BRIE CREPE, 2 BLUBERRY AND GINGER JUICES, AND A BREAKFAST BURRITO. Let me tell you, the Apple Brie crepe was amazing, I highly recommend it. Especially, when you want sweet and salty. The perfect dish for the indecisive. And don't leave without trying their variation of juices that you can mix and match. I love adding ginger. It just gives the drink a kick, great for the morning. It is a small establishment so if you're visiting depending on the day and time, plus weather. It's cute, the staff is extremely nice, and the atmosphere reminds me of a college town cafe. The problem is, for a place that prides itself on their crêpes, they don't know how to make them. I could wax on about what crêpes "should be" and describe them in amazing detail. I could discuss crêpes vs. galettes and the different textures in each. But in the end, there's no point because only one thing needs to be said. Crêpes aren't supposed to be burned. They should not be brittle. They should not flake. They should not have crisp ends. They should not be on the crêpe machine for more than a minute - let alone up to 5. I could see if they were busy, the chef may try to catch up to a backlog of orders and become overwhelmed, but we were one table of only a few patrons on a Saturday afternoon. Coffee fresh and hot, juice and mimosas served in mason jars are so good! We had the Jam crepe and steak crepes both so good . We also had the waffles with brie and bacon and their reuben sando , great choices with our mimosas, our meals came with well seasoned potatoes. The meals were a great size especially if you are hungry. The side ginger shot with your juice is recommended, it gives your juice a little fresh heat. From the roast beef with horseradish to the carmelized pears with bre they were all delicious. The service is very good along with pretty good coffee. It is very small and very quaint, the front door is literally belly up to the first table when you walk in. It was worth the wait, I cleaned my plate and had 2nds and 3rds of their delicious coffee. They do all kinds of eccentric things with waffles, and I really wanted to like them (I like their effort, their imagination), but as food - not so much. Jessica was really very nice, and the latte was perfect. I believe they use Stumptown cofee, and I am officially a fan. It was perfectly roasted and not bitter at all (unlike another local...). My only wish was that I hadn't just eaten a (crazy delicious) lunch at Szechuan First, so that i could have wolfed down one of these crepes that everyone is raving about. Always wondered what this place was like after seeing it multiple times as I take the freeway exit. The place is pretty small, but they try to space everyone out well without feeling too crowded. Both were very good and served in mason jars. We had ordered the Triple B (Bacon, Brie, Basil) on a waffle. It was super simple, but super good! The basil was a great addition for taste. My partner had the choco banaa crepe, and that was pretty good as well.. Served warm and you can really taste the choco in it. All of it was simple, but always had at least one ingredient in which gave it a kick. The only thing that was a downer was how long the wait was to get our food.
