It was tasty with good pastrami and homemade red cabbage sauerkraut, but rather meager in the pastrami area. It wasn't too expensive, so that made up for it. We needed a breakfast spot past downtown so we exited at Georgetown. The outside of the cafe looks like any ordinary house you'd find on Beacon Hill. The entrance was a bit tight while waiting to be seated. There are tables about 2 feet in front of the door. As most breakfast spots are, this place was packed. We were seated after 10-15 minutes. We placed our orders and waited. and waited. Someone who was seated AFTER us received their order before we did! Plus, my husband asked for a sunnyside up egg, and ended up getting an over easy instead. The correction for a simple egg took 10 minutes. But to be fair, the cook was working out of a 5x5 foot kitchen, if that. My blueberry french toast was ok. It was very dense. A little drier than bread pudding. All the tables had cute salt and pepper shakers, ours were NY taxi cabs. They have a great big Mimosa for cheap! Only $6 for a full mimosa served in a mason jar, not a tiny champagne glass like others do. The place is a little house with a nice yard up front with tables outside so you can bring your dog if you want. The place is small so it can get crowded on nice weekends. So, I went today at around one. Twas a quaint little place with nine tables. The waitress was very nice and made sure our water was never empty (love that). The guy making the crepes, and I am assuming the owner, looked a tad grumpy, he could stand to turn on a smile or two... We had the turkey and pesto crepe, with a lovely creme fraiche. We also had a reuben, with turkey instead of pastrami ( easier on the hips). That was also very nice. I would like to see a more exciting side dish, came with potatoes. I got the Hangar which has egg, black forest ham, swiss, cheddar, slivered red onion, roma tomatoes, and baby spinach. topped with our house made poblano basil vinaigrette and creme fraiche. My boyfriend and I are breakfast foodies and we try new places. We ate here and I had to come back with my family to show them this gem! My boyfriend and I shared the banana but waffle, Nutella crepe, and Hangar crepe which is a savory crepe! It was super great! Their iced lattes and mango smoothies are so good we almost drank them all before our food came out. Get a large mango smoothie and you won't regret it! When I came back with my family, one of our orders came out wrong and they were happy to fix it without a peep and were nice about my noisy baby brother. The cons to coming here is that it's a small little place and the wait can be long considering their kitchen looks cozy and small and their tables are always looked full! Tip: don't be afraid of the bees near their flowers, they are actually pretty friendly! This is such a cute and cozy breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. They have delicious savory and sweet breakfast items AND savory/sweet items on the same plate! I got the triple b waffle:bacon, brie, and basil! It comes with syrup and though it sounds weird it is sooo good! It was worth the wait, since they only have 2 waffle grills I got my food last in my group. My mom loves the baked French toast and chocolate and banana crepe. My brother got a reuban sandwich with a salad that was pretty good. They had a nice frittata for my dad though the portion was small, he said he got enough to eat though. I wasn't a huge fan of the breakfast potatoes, but the coffee is good. They were able to seat 5 of us with a phone call 20 minutes prior to arriving, definitely call ahead if you have more than 4 people, because this place is pretty tiny! It would be hard to scoot between the tables if you had a walker or wheelchair or were very large, though i m sure they'd help accommodate you, especially if you call ahead. read more

I got here just before 10am on Labor Day (Monday); when I arrived I could clearly see the list of customers waiting. There was one party ahead of our name crossed out with "4" next to it. Hostess told us 30 minutes. Never been here before so I decided to wait. She took down my number and I went on a walk. Came back 15-20 min later, and remember how I pointed out the waitlist? Well, there was another party that had just been seated and their name was crossed off AFTER my name. I asked the hostess, remember me? How much longer? She apologized and c/o how busy it was. So I posted right by the hostess table hoping to avoid another party getting seated ahead of us-again. Got seated close @ 10:15am. We ordered, waited, waited, and waited.... It's now 11:26 and as my food arrived, my kids didn't have theirs yet... So I write this. Don't come here if you have kids. If you're crazy about their crepes, maybe order to go, but call it in ahead of time, way ahead of time.... Maybe even do follow up calls to remind them. This is a great place for breakfast. The three times I have been here there was a wait. The most recent time they took your phone number and called you when your table was ready. We just waited in the car as there is no room to wait inside and it was stormy outside. The service isn't great and some of the waitresses are rude. The food makes up for the service. I always get the gram cracker waffles with raspberry. They are sweet and yummy. I got the creme brûlée late last time and it was way too sweet to pair with the waffle. They have many other options that sound amazing. Everyone I have been with doesn't have a complaint about the food they ordered. One issue was had was when we got are check. I love the old house atmosphere and the fact that you can see the food cooking. A few things about the place: there are two makers for crepes so if its busy, you are going to wait a long time. I am a big fan of the Hangar crepe and recently I tried the Banana Walnut waffle. It was delicious but I was a little disappointed that they did not fold bananas in the waffle batter as described on the menu. Don't be fooled by the outside of the cafe. Yes it's tiny. Yes, it can be slow. Yes, when it gets busy the servers can forget what you ordered. To all that, I say...so what? The way they do crepes is phenomenal. Their potatoes are fantastic. The Triple B (the bacon, Brie, and basil waffle), let's just say the adjectives haven't been invented yet to describe that bliss. The servers are sweet, friendly and whiz bang snazzy dressers. What's not to love? And yes, if you show up with two people, they won't seat you at a four top. Bitch about it all you want, but they don't have a lot of room and must maximize their space, (which they will fill). I don't know if your two top money is suddenly better than four top money, but economic theory kind of says differently. And the best for last. MIMOSAS IN PINT JARS! the most wonderful flavors....blackberry, apple ginger to name a couple. So, when at The Hangar, do what I do, order a cup of joe or an Earl Grey tea, an apple ginger Mimosa, put your order in and hang out. I'm not a crepe guy, I don't eat sugar so normally I do not go to places like this but it has such great reviews I knew I had to push my boundaries. Opinions: Crepes WERE good, but when I asked them how much longer it would be for them to make ours, the kitchen girl and our waitress reacted defensively and rudely saying "it has only been 20min" and "we are a specialty crepe place." It had been 30min and most importantly I was simply just trying to figure out if we could still eat there or if we should do take out or cancel the order (we had someplace to be). I just wish I would have gotten the information without the attitude. Although I did finally receive an apology for the wait time, it was not until they were packing our order to go 45minutes in. From what I could tell, they only had 3 crepe burners going which physically limits how fast they can work.
