French toast fooled me as i thought it was just buttered toast... i it was very good. She also ordered pancakes and had a cup of gravy... This place makes me very very happy. I'm not sure what it is, but I much prefer it to the university location. Oh wait nevermind, I know what it is, the food and service. Those have been really good here. Annnddd the prices don't break the bank! Portions are plentiful, cocktails are tasty, and I can even get breakfast and a drink for under $15. Best damn breakfast spot in Columbus and I go to a lot of them. I have never had a bad meal nor did I have to wait long. Probably 10 min after we order our food is there. I had taken my father for lunch after a meeting close by , I was a little offended by the wait across the street. It was the first time I had been able to get into this restaurant without a long wait. The food was excellent. The staff is friendly and as efficient considering the client mob. I feel that this review any be affected by the fact that we're in the middle of a pandemic, I don't get much of a chance to eat out, and that it was 11 in the morning and I hadn't had anything to eat since 6:30 the previous day. Full disclosure. I ordered through DoorDash and it took about twenty minutes to get my food - we do live fairly close by. It arrived nicely packaged in a tamper proof bag and piping hot. The eggs were perfectly over easy and the hoe fries were crispier than any takeout hoe fries had a right to be. Honestly, I'm surprised that I noticed how crispy they were since I woofed them down at lightning speed. They also thoughtfully packed jam, spread, and utensils. We came here on a Saturday morning and walking in, it was really crowded so I was worried we would have a long wait, but it took maybe 15 minutes and were seated. After we put our orders in, it took maybe 5 minutes and we had our food, and given the crowd, they definitely get an A+ for efficiency! My meal was the Hoe Benny, a twist on eggs benedict with an english muffin, with smashed avocado spread on top, chorizo, two over medium eggs, and salsa crema on top. It was delicious! Stumbled upon this place today while in the area. Definitely a rare find! Not sure how long this place has been in business but their food is SUPER good. Like 10 out of 10 good. Reminds me of the yummy diners in southern California where I used to live. It was hard to decide on what to order because so many things on their creative menu sounded so delicious! Love having this brunch/breakfast option in the area. I've been a big fan of the OSU location but went there rarely because, well I would forget about it, and parking. The food and exuberance of the staff is similar which is a good thing on both counts. The only think I don't love is the dining room set up. There's a banquette going down the center and tables shooting off either side of it going up and down the length. For some reason It reminds me of "get em in get em out" stalls and isn't inviting at all to me. I would prefer the tables on the walls. My guess is they had the banquette and had to make it work. This is a great little breakfast spot on Downtown Columbus' East side. Fairly busy for a Tuesday morning but we were seated and served quickly. Our server was kind, attentive, and quick. The food was hot and tasted great, plus portions were a good size and price is very reasonable. They offer happy hour specials on mimosas in the morning and afternoon, which would be a great deal ($4). I liked the setting, which includes art and a touch tunes juke box. This place is a cute little spot with great food. So much so- that we went back the next day! I ordered the biscuits and gravy my first visit which was delicious! The eggs on top were cooked to perfection. My friends ordered French toast and other items and they loved theirs also. I tasted the French toast and it was the best I've had. I overheard another customer tell her man that the potatoes were really good so I ordered a side and they were yummyyy. Sarah was an EXCELLENT server and I def would recommend her if you stop by. She was very attentive and super friendly. The next day o ordered a burger with bacon and an egg and it was also VERY good. The sweet potato tots were AMAZING!!! My friend ordered the chicken and waffles which we had seen someone order the day before and they were to die for! I tried a bite and fell in love I think. My other friend ordered a club or something and he really enjoyed his sammy also. I ordered a cocktail that's usually a shot with blue curaçao and it was delish. Our server Vinny was also great! When we arrived, I noticed multiple creamers and straws on the floor under the tables and a QR code to scan to get in line despite a person with iPad standing right there unwilling to add your name the way. When we were finally seated, there were still crumbs on table when waitress set down menus, which had coffee and syrup on them. I saw a bucket and rag, so I got it wiped our own table and menus off as I watched our waiter drop chocolate milk on someone's phone case while delivering an order. I watched other staff carrying plates down their arm/against clothing/body which I thought was pretty gross - and didn't notice anywhere for staff to wash their hands between touching everyone's food/dishes. Our orders came, not sunny side up (over hard?) - initially another server brought wrong side but our server showed up with the correct order later. The bathrooms were reasonably clean. I stopped in here on a random morning looking for something really great to satisfy my hunger cravings. I haven't really heard much about it at all from friends or just people in general. We have all ordered a breakfast burrito or just a burrito in general, and have been surprised about how small some restaurants serve them. This was an exception. It was truly huge. It came out with a lot of toppings on the burrito itself, so it wasnt gonna get eat'n by hand. The flavor was really nice. Everything inside came together while having their own distinct flavors. The crispy-ness of the potatoes, eggs, chorizo, everything played its part. Well done. The Cinnamon Roll French Toast was really pretty as well. Big sugar rush meal, kids would love it, and grown kids like myself lol. It was good. But it became a little overwhelming the longer i ate it. The amount of sugar in it slowed me down. From the whipped cream, strawberries, icing, syrup, butter, it was a lot to handle. The restaurant is fairly small, but does have a nice ambiance, nice and bright and uppity. The inside is lit with mostly natural lighting (Which is the best). I also liked their comic book wall in the back. The kid in me still is drawn to things like that. Service was nice, besides when we first got there. A couple that came in right after we did was seated before us. And their names were crossed out under ours, when we glanced at the sheet when walking past it. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it seemed like it was and didn't leave a good feeling knowing I was skipped...maybe on purpose. However the server for our table was really nice and attentive and always asking if I needed anything. Food was out at a nice time. Didn't have to wait that long at all. This place is a perfect spot for brunch. While it doesn't have food that will knock your socks off, it has a very solid menu. Everything looks so good you won't know what to get, and the taste is very solid. I will be coming back to try a couple more items out. read more
