Stopped in at HangOverEasy because we wanted to eat local and have heard great things about HOE. It sure didn't miss! We sat at the bar and Lily was fantastic! I tried smothered and covered and my wife had the Sausage party. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the chorizo sausage gravy was very tasty. The smothered and covered comes with chicken tenders. We checked in as a party of 4 and we're quoted a 10 minute wait. We actually waited an hour and a half. The waiting room was very cramped and constantly had more people coming in. The hostess was very absent and there were often tables open and nobody moving. The original wait time was 10 minutes and ended up being 90. When finally seated, the waitress arrived quickly but the drinks took quite awhile. When they arrived, the milkshakes were warm and had spilled all over the side and there were no napkins provided. Come for the breakfast and stay for the dessert. Stopped by here after our first idea was a total bust and we were definitely not disappointed. So many flavors coming together in this burrito but the flavor of the chorizo and the texture of the HOE fries just made the perfect complement. My friends spoke highly of this place so we decided to do brunch (actually lunch) and wow! So happy we did. For starters, I ordered the Breakfast Shot & a Cranberry Mimosa. Both were delicious, of course. Ordering food was a challenge, as I wanted to try almost everything! I settled on the Frog Eyes with a side of hash browns. DELICIOUS!! We've decided to make this our monthly brunch place for awhile. I will say that the Parsons Ave location has limited seating so you may not want to take your group there. You can park on the street but may have to walk some but the parking lot across from it has parking - I parked there. Place was clean and the comic book decor was cool. I've been passing by this place for a week now on my way home from picking my kiddo up from theater camp. The opportunity to visit presented itself today, on my hubby's birthday. We were looking for a good brunch place, and of course I consulted YELP! Very pleased to see all the raving reviews. We were not disappointed. The menu selections make it hard to choose! Today I opted for the egg n chz sandwich with a side of tots, but next visit will be cinnamon French toast. My husband had the HOE Benny which is a twist on eggs Benedict. It was DELICIOUS. They serve breakfast cocktails, but I didn't order. Our waiter was super friendly, efficient and funny. Prices are fair, and the food is fresh. Very friendly atmosphere. It's not a huge place, but seems to have ample seating. Parking is available in the free lot across the street. We dig it, and yes, breakfast does cure everything. :) read more

Needing something to fill my tummy between breakfast and my lunch plans with a friend, I decided to stop by HOE since I was close by after an appointment in German Village. Definitely a different, more calm, relaxing, neighborhood vibe compared with their cool comic decor campus HOE. They do plan on some kind of comic book paintings on the walls, but plans are still being finalized. Craving something sweet to hold me over till a late lunch, I went with the Struggling To Get Up - two buttermilk pancakes with butter and warm syrup. Great choice. Big, thick fluffers (yep, that's a Gwenism for ya!). Hit the spot, and I even took half home for later. Management is super cool here. I suggested to the bar gal they get something to go under the plates on the bar-top, as my plate was sliding to and fro while I cut my 'cakes. It was a great touch for the owner/manager to come out and introduce himself without hesitation. Nice guy! Personable and took the suggestion to note. The staff were a hoot. I've never been in their primary location. However, the expectations were high considering how famous the other place is. They live to the expectations. We decided to visit on a Sunday morning. Lucky for us, there wasn't much waiting time I ordered the pork belly egg Benedict. The dish was delicious. When eating half of my dish I felt something crunchy and found egg shells in my eggs. But, as I wrote the bad, I also wrote the good. The server was super polite and since I was seating in the bar area, I saw the head chef's reaction to the situation. He immediately requested the cooks to re-fire the whole dish. I was ok if they just had gave me just one egg since I ate half of the dish. New plate came to perfection. My girlfriends and I came to this spot for brunch and had an amazing experience! I loved the vibe of this place. Super fun and casual. I ordered the pork belly Benedict but the server said his favorite was the Walk of Shame which was a breakfast sandwich in between a donut. I changed my order to his recommendation and I LOVED it! Having been to the Hang Over Easy near the OSU campus a couple of times, I was delighted when my girlfriend told me about this new location not far from where we live. The place was pretty packed around 10:00 on a Saturday, but we were happy to wait. There's not a lot of seating overall, but there are also bar seats, sort of reminiscent of Stav's Diner in Bexley. Despite the crowd, we were seated in about ten minutes, and the server, Eleanore, was super nice and efficient. What other reviewers have said about the service is definitely on point. The menu here is fairly large and completely appetizing, with most of the prices being quite reasonable. As a big fan of eggs benny, I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, while my girlfriend ordered The Dirty -- basically a mishmash of various things, to which she added avocado. We also had coffees (they serve Crimson Cup). While I do like Crimson Cup coffee, I can't help but wonder if they could strike a business deal with Upper Cup a block away, since Upper Cup roasts their own beans as well... Anyhow, our meals were delivered very quickly -- probably five minutes after our order was put in, which is quite impressive. The Dirty is surprisingly big, and I can imagine it being the perfect hangover cure. My girlfriend liked it, but we wound up taking half of it to go. My Pork Belly Benedict was good as well in terms of all of the flavors matching up, but if I'm being completely honest, it wasn't quite to my taste. This isn't something I would criticize HOE for, however; I just found the sriracha hollandaise a bit too spicy, and didn't think the pork belly was ideal benny fare. But again, I really think this is just my own taste buds at work and not some sort of recipe flaw. All told, we made it out with a $25 bill, and are grateful to have a new go-to for breakfast food a couple miles away. Incidentally, I'm absolutely loving the revitalized Olde Towne East area, with the aforementioned Upper Cup having been my favorite coffee shop in Columbus for a year and a half, and I'm looking forward to seeing what other businesses crop up here in the months to come. read more

I was so happy to see a HOE opening in another part of town where I won't feel ancient getting breakfast!! I anticipated a few hangups on their first Saturday open but our visit was flawless. Everything from the cleanliness, food and service was on point! My husband got the chicken and waffles and said they were amazing. The chicken was boneless and tender with a slight savory flavor that complimented the waffles well. I got the pancakes and they were super fluffy and filling. I also had a side of turkey sausage and potatoes which were cooked perfectly. The place isn't huge so I could see it packing out pretty quickly on the weekends. Very neat atmosphere loved the location very refreshing to sit at an open bar with the doors up and open staff was friendly, food portions were perfect a little cool in the morning, but resulted in buying one of their comfy tshirts!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! First time visiting after spending the day in Columbus the day before. We weren't sure what to expect but we felt very welcomed. Our waiter Stephen was so friendly and polite to us. Even though he's running around handling all of his tables, he chatted with us and kept checking in regularly to see if we needed anything. When we come back, I definitely want to try the cinnamon roll French toast, but today was a special of Red Velvet pancakes I couldn't pass up! Only open 5 days I can't say bad things. We had to wait for our table due to the crowd but the hostess was wonderful. Once seated we didn't wait to long before our server Megan greeted us. She was wonderful. My drink did take a bit of time which was unusual and there was a slip up on the order which was immediately attended to and taken off our bill. The coffee was great and the food was good. We tried all sorts of menu items - pancakes, oatmeal pie pancakes, tacos, quesadillas, pork belly Benny. Not a long wait to be seated , and we notice the cool the long booths and round top tables and a few Areas for just two which we were seated at . The food order was taken and we received or food in a timely manner my order was wrong but my waitress immediately noticed my eggs were cooked not the way I ordered them and return them quickly to get my correct order. The food was good I had the corned beef hash it was delicious I would have not mind a little more corn beef with the potatoes it was so good and tender .
