Came in tonight for dinner and the food was standard. Not great or bad just in between. Ordered fra diablo mussles ($5). They were ok. I had a beer on tap ($5) and a well drink ($4.50). Well drinks are house booze mixed how you like. Not sure what house booze means. I got a rum and coke with more coke than rum. Overall, not spectacular, but the menu had no standouts that made me want to stay and eat dinner. read more

Nice selection of beers kept me from giving this place a lower rating. Service was fine. Menu looked like someone had pulled together a nice selection of tasty items; however, that was not the case. The clam appetizer included extremely stale bread, and the clams were very chewy. The caesar salad was supposed to have homemade dressing, but that was not the case. Mediocre food, at best. We were looking for a place to eat in early September and came upon HangTime. The place was packed with people having a good time and there was live music on the deck. We ate at one of the tables around the bar, food and service were excellent. Found out that HangTime had only opened the end of August. We were passing thru this area this past week and decided to stop in again. It is easy to get to off the parkway! We were not disappointed. The Tuna appetizer was exceptional as well was the pulled pork sliders. We sat at the bar and Ashley knew in detail everything on the menu that we questioned. Ashley also had very accurate knowledge about the large selection of beers on tap. The prices are excellent and the decor is very tasteful. If you are in the area or just passing by, stop in, you will not be disapointed. It is also open late! read more

Went during Happy hour. Nice place. Friendly staff. Cheap beer. WORST NACHOS EVER. Took forever to come out and when they do, they're cold. Staff was gracious and they warmed them up again. Even added more chips. But they just don't taste good. Sloppy mess of stale chips, cheese sauce and cheese crumble. If I wasn't so hungry, I wouldn't have eaten as much as I did. And at the price, it doesn't hurt as much. Would be better off as chips with a 3 cheese sauce dip. read more

On recommendation from the staff at Holiday Inn Express, I decided to check this place out for dinner while in town for business. I am sure glad I did. The ambiance is very nice and low key, great for the traveller dining alone. I sat in the bar, where they had a great happy hour from 4-7, that included drinks and appetizer items. The Mussels Fra Diavalo were outstanding! Perhaps the best combo of good seafood and a great sauce (if you like spicy). The Ribeye French Dip didn't quite live up to the billing (still a 3), but for $8 it isn't bad either. Others around me had good things to say about both the Pizza and tacos. read more

Back again to try the salmon. I arrived during happy hour, and the bar scene is energetic but not crazy. I decided to try the Mussels Diavolo, and they tasted GREAT even if the mussels were on the smallish side. I ordered the grilled salmon, medium, with jasmine rice. The salmon was cooked just right, and the jasmine rice tasty. Unfortunately, the broccoli / cauliflower was over cooked and soggy. I made up for this by having a Caesar salad. So the next time I travel to Abescon, NJ I will definitely visit again and try substituting side dishes to get something really good overall. read more

I am very picky... So let me say three of us went to this place on Saturday lunch. Two of us ordered salad ... They came under dressed and had to order extra dressing. They also had no unsweetened iced tea... Even with this disappointing start when our sandwiches came they were delicious. Steak panini grilled to perfection and bulging with tender succulent steak. The hang time burger was bursting with fried onion strings. GREAT fries. Crispy and just good! The French dip on crusty crisp bread with the perfect au ju. I will definitely go back!! They have a good football menu, but the crowd there made for a less than enjoyable night. There was a group at the end of the bar cursing the entire night and the girl was clearly hammered. I don't think she should have continued to be served. Not sure if I will come back, but probably worth a try. read more

Here from out of town. Found this little gem across from our hotel. The food here was fantastic!! Grandma's meatball was so good I got 2 to take back home with me. If your close by you need to make a stop here! We also had the chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach, chicken wings and side salad(that was more like a dinner salad)! Dear owners-GET LARGER DRINKING GLASSES. Your refills are plentiful bu wait times for them can be a challenge.When you add in ice your not giving much beverage for your free refills so its kind of annoying to await the wait staff to find you and retrieve your drink, just saying. That aside,the place is nicely modeled and has a dining area separate from `the can be loud at times bar`.The dessert case in front when you walk in is tacky b/c it houses service items and mostly factory dessert.This should be dressed up or eliminated. As to the food,we went over 5x now..the food is presented well and mostly scratch made. It can be inconsistent but usually fresh & good.A recent panini was very dry. The pizza was not on point and with so much pizza in nj should be skipped over here in favor of traditional pub fare.Tehre is a chicken panini w/pesto that has a mismatch of tastes going on to where nausea set in. This is more of a work in progress and we hope to visit over & over as our travels to AC take us right past this place..The staff has always been pleasant to us. read more

I enjoyed eating at Hangtime. The crab fries app was delicious. I also ordered the grilled salmon and that was tasty. The menu isn't as big as I expected but there's enough to satisfy everyone I believe. My friend wanted a chicken parm sandwich (they only have chicken parm with pasta on the menu) but the waitress was able to convince the chef to make one on bread. I thought that was a nice gesture. I would probably dine there again. Maybe during a sporting event since they have nice TVs. read more

Never brought back menus to us (after hosing down the first set with juice) and then was annoyed we didn't know what we wanted to order. Shocker that she then butchered the order and the food that did eventually make it out to the table was lousy. Not to be outdone, waitress didn't bother comping so much as a kids soda (guess she was going for broke at that point). We were visiting from Pittsburgh and not knowing the area we were having a hard time deciding where to eat. We checked Yelp and found this place was close and had a high rating. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The food was great, the service was great and the prices very reasonable! The Hang Time burger was superb and the cod sandwich was amazing with their special coleslaw. My wife had the Hang Time salad with grilled salmon and it too was wonderful. I only had one complaint for the owner, whom I spoke to personally, the food was too good!! Stayed a night in Absecon and had dinner here and was very pleased. It's a very nice building with comfortable seating. Good looking bar. I can't remember the name of my sandwich but it was turkey with broccoli rhab. It was delicious. The fries are house made and also great. Hangtime bar and grille has an extensive menu that goes far beyond what you would expect from your average bar/grill. It's one of the most gourmet bar menus I have ever seen. Everything is delicious from the to-die-for Lamb Oso Buco to the simple hot and honey tails. The staff was all super friendly. They truly make you feel like home when you go in there. The only problem I had at this place was trying to find the room in my stomach to try more items. read more

This restaurant is in the financial district. It is quite old and it's atmosphere reflects that. It is not cheap but it's a wonderful experience. The food and the service are excellent AND the tables are not close together so it's not noisy. It's perfect for a birthday/special/talking night. read more
