We have passed Hangtime a ton & had not been. We sat at the bar & had some cold Beers & yummy wings. Not super busy - but a steady flow of locals. Bartender was friendly & treated everyone like you were regulars! Neighborhood bar- with good wings & good prices.

We visited on a Saturday night, and while the service was initially slow--no one came over for a while--we didn't mind too much. I went up to ask for menus, and we decided to order just appetizers. Unfortunately, that's where the real issues began. Every single appetizer was worse than the last, leaving us disappointed and concerned. We ordered three appetizers: Hot & Honey Tails ($13): Described as boneless chicken strips battered in hot and honey sauce, served with a side of bleu cheese. Crab-Avocado Tostadas ($16): Crabmeat with avocado, mayo, tomato, onions, served on fried corn tortillas, topped with sour cream. Popcorn Shrimp ($10). The pictures I took truly tell the story. The Hot & Honey Tails were suspect--chewy and unappetizing, with a texture that made us question the quality of the chicken. The Crab-Avocado Tostada was especially disappointing, looking like it was made with canned crab and drizzled with an unappealing sriracha mayo. It was so poorly presented that I urged my boyfriend not to eat it because I didn't want him to get sick. Lastly, the Popcorn Shrimp was all fried flour, with barely any shrimp inside. It was like biting into fried air. We did bring up our concerns, not because we wanted anything comped, but because the food genuinely looked and felt like a health hazard. The restaurant did comp the cheapest appetizer, which was very kind of them to do, and we appreciated that gesture. While the ambiance and concept seemed promising, the execution was far from acceptable.

Food seems to be consistent and decent. Bartenders always friendly. 4 stars because of the 3% service fee on credit cards. Who has cash anymore? How about the cost of doing business!!!

    Pretty extensive menu.

Visited with co-workers for a quick lunch. Although I live in the area, I've never been. It's pretty big with a section for sitting for a more formal dinner and the other side with a car and high top tables for a more casual experience. We sat at a high top table. I had a tropical mango drink and my coworkers had a raspberry crush. I ordered wings and fries. Both were very good. Our server was nice too. Will return for dinner and see how that goes! Give it a try.

Good service but the food is bland and the back of the house is slow. Took 40 mins to get our meal. I probably won't return.

Our waitstaff, Ben and Brittany, were phenomenal. They were attentive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. I have a special dietary restriction, and they were kind enough to prepare a separate plate for me instead of having me choose from the main buffet. We also arrived a little early to put up some small decorations, and Ben was incredibly helpful in getting everything set up. The views were beautiful, and the food was delicious. Inside, there appear to be separate rooms available for private parties as well as regular dining, which makes it a cozy and versatile place for celebrations and larger events. My entire family was very pleased with how everything turned out. Another bonus is the location--it's situated in a charming little town with shops within walking distance, making it a great place to explore before or after your meal. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider returning for another special occasion!

Served quickly and hot in a big, wide bowl. It looked good. Had small, irregularly sized potatoes and chopped carrots. The broth was a little thicker than I imagined or had tasted before in other restaurants, or in the one I make. Clams were tiny and, as you'd expect from a can. Not fresh clams. In fact, you can put all the clams found in chowder in a single tablespoon. Even found a whole bay leaf in it, which should have been removed before serving it. So, how is the chowder? I've had better from canned chowder, and the one I make is way better. Zero stars for the chowder. Next up is the Turkey platter with sliced turkey (hard and dry), 1 ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes (ok, nothing special), 1 ice cream scoop of stuffing (totally disgusting, and had corn in it), string beans (with vine still attached), gravy (terrible), and a little cup of cranberries (decent). Total fail. The waitress was ok, though stopping by every 5 minutes to ask if everything was good was quite annoying. The 'ice water gentleman' was great. You never asked for water, and when the glass was 1/2 empty, he was there refilling it. Great job! The final score of 2 stars is for the historic inn's ambiance and layout. We won't be back, and do not recommend.

Felt like we had to have one of their "award winning" caesar salads since they boast it on the menu. It was definitely sizable so order to share. We enjoyed it. Not sure it would go in the books but it was really nice. Could have used some more croutons but loved the fresh shaved parm. The French onion soup is comforting and the pappardelle bolognese was such a treat! And because dessert goes to a separate stomach, we found room for a slice of the key lime pie which was absolutely worth every calorie! Ventura's offshore location is definitely larger and comfier than the beach location. The tables are roomier and the parking is easy. Though it can get a bit noisy but we asked to be seated away from the bar area which kept the noise level comfortable enough for conversation. The service is friendly and the portions are awesome!

Chicken Caesar salad: much smaller portion overall. Chicken seemed to be same size but there used to be a ton more romaine. It's only water, put it back in the larger bowl already. Margarita flatbread was missing the basil leaves we had just a week ago. Draft Coors light STILL overpriced. We only go here in emergency situations as there are many other better local restaurants to choose from.

Some of the classic specialties. I then received a birthday song with a candle in my Mango Sorbet with added blueberries.
