Me and the hubster stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and needed something to eat. Hang Time was a local spot, close and convenient. I wanted something comforting and homey while my other half wanted easy eats. I had the Trio Grilled Cheese with tomatoe soup. The grilled cheese was exactly what I wanted and comforted me in the best way possible. I did not however taste the difference in cheeses. The tomatoe soup was good but was a little bit on the sweet side. Less sweetness and a little more tomatoe tartness next time please! Ribs for some reason paired really well with the spinach crab dip. The ribs were tender, moist and fell right off the bone, although it was a little bit too sweet for me (again). The spinach crab dipped was delish and we would definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Now.. we came here around 10PM although they close at 2AM. My first impression of our waiter upon entering did not feel too welcoming. Theres a separate room for the bar and dining area and either he was the only staff from rotating the bar area and dining area which can be stressful or I have no idea what it was. He checked up on us once and when we left he was standing there chatting to another coworker and did not even itch for recognition upon our departure. It made me feel like a bothersome. I will definitely give this place another shot when in the area because I love the decor, food, cleanliness, modernization of the place but I am hoping that the staff will be a tad more friendlier and inviting. Wow this place sucks... Went here for a night out for my boy's birthday, Grabbed a seat at the bar and the bartender was a huge bitch to us for no reason."First time ever being there." One of those times where I find an absolute gem on Yelp! The best wings I've ever had. I AM NOT KIDDING. Try the mango habanero and you won't be disappointed. Went for the Eagles game and the place had a great vibe with a bunch of transplants. Plenty of craft brews, even some local that I've never heard of that were great. This was a fantastic place. I order the Prince Edward mussels with the white sauce. The white sauce was so amazing, we order extra bread just to dip it in the sauce. I had the petite poulet, which was a a lemony chicken. The mashed potato that came with it was mushy and tasty. My friend had the ribs from the appetizer section as the entree. It was fall off the bones delicious. The only negative thing I can say is that service was a a little slow. We sat down and nobody came to get us water until I signal someone. The honeytails here were the bomb!!!! This place is a hidden gem in Absecon and so close to Atlantic City! Probably the best bar food in Atlantic County and its sad you even have to label it bar food. HOT bartenders, great food, tons of TV's(great sports bar) and great management. Was in town for the night and, knowing nothing abouthte area restaurants, took a chance on this place because of the full parking lot. While I expected a typical menu and fare for a "sports bar" I was nicely surprised by the offerings on the menu and by the high quality of the food and service. On walking in, I was surprised at the dessert offerings in the display case. They all looked like on-site creations, a rarity in anything but fine dining establishments. I will have to try one next time. The menu had a nice selection of dishes including panninis, sandwiches, burgers, and pizza. I was planning on a burger but switched to the French Dip. I haven't seen that on a menu in a long time. The three cheese grilled cheese and soup sounded good too. There were plenty of other choices that I would want to try on a return visit. I started with the rib appetizer and enjoyed about 6 nicely sauced ribs. Dinner arrived before we had finished our apps but the server acknowledged it and apologized meaning she at least knew it should have waited. It was no big deal and I'd rather have it on the table early that have it held in the kitchen. I opted for the french fries and was glad for it. Folks...these are some darn good fries. The very definition of a perfect fry. No fuss or muss of added parmesan and truffle oil here. Potato, Oil, Salt, perfectly cut and cooked. The French dip isn't a terribly demanding sandwich to make but the presentation was nicely done. It was served on a long roll with the au jus on the side. While the portion wasn't huge, the taste was very good as was the jus. My companions seemed pleased with their selections as well. Service was very good and we never lacked for full drinks. Our server knew the menu and made good recommendations. She was honest with what she had and had not tried. This place has good reviews so a friend and I decided to try it out. It wasn't that busy but it did take awhile to have our order taken and for our food to arrive which makes me think this place is understaffed. Our server checked on us to get our drink order, to take our food order, and to give us the check when we were already finished. He did not check to make sure our food was okay. A runner gave us our food instead over our server. The Mac and cheese with crab is pricy for the fake flavor. The wings tasted frozen and we wanted ranch with them. Didn't get the chance to ask until we got the bill because we weren't checked on AND was charged extra for it without being told that it's an up charge. The only good food was the fries. I have eaten here a few times before and the food is always good. Unfortunately this time the food was not up to par. I had ordered the Hangtime burger which I have ordered before with no complaints. My burger cam out of the gate looking really good but that is about all that was good about this burger. The burger comes with CRISPY ONIONS and mine were the total opposite. They were cold for starter and got worse. also soggy an just out right gross. How as a cool you'd eat these onion be served is a baffling question. They appeared to have been the leftovers from lunch. The horror didn't stop there, next my bun for the burger was also ice cold which made it taste stale. The burger are pretty big so the bun is huge, so imagine a huge burger with cold soggy onion on top a cold bun. I ended up scraping all the onions off and took the burger off the bun and ate it with a fork and knife. I was so disappointed I am not even sure if the burger was any good I was starving so I ate it. I informed the waitress of these issues and she told the manager who never came over to address the issues. The waitress apologized and told stated to me "I told her I so sorry". I'd never never eat here again not because of the bad food but the integrity of the management. I don't get how your informed of poor food preparation and the food is allowed to be sent out but you don't even have the common decency to come over and address it. Came here with a few friends because it looked like it might offer more than the stereotypical NJ bar, and it did. They have a huge menu with all your standard bar grill fare but they also have a few dishes that lean more towards fine dining. The next time I go I'll definitely look towards the items in the "Entrees" section. You can get paninis and burgers anywhere but find me another sports bar with great garlic broccolini. Love! This is a great place to get dinner, pregame for AC, or create stay and party. Pretty popular- but it's a big bar that always seems to have open seating. RIDICULOUSLY good hamburgers (but you will have a hard time trying to pick something on the menu if you're on a diet) they have one of those juke boxes that you can connect your phone to - and you WILL spend way more money on music than you were planning to.. but you'll be glad you did. The staff is great- very little turn over, I have been going here for years and always recognize the bartender. The crowd that tends to come here is mid 20s up- so you don't have to worry about some teenager spilling their drinks on you- and there are separate dinning areas so if you are bringing the family you don't have to be right next to the bar. Love this place and come often but tonight I was disappointed in the Porchetta sandwich. Every other time I've gotten it it's been a perfect combo of Italian pork and broccoli rabe. Tonight was a weird bacon like pork and it was odd. I'm hoping it was a fluke of a night, otherwise the sandwich description should be severely altered. My wife and I were very excited to try this place especially considering its 4 star review on yelp. As a rule I don't post reviews unless there are only a couple of them for a particular place or if my experience dramatically deviates from the rating, either positively or negatively. In this case, I'm sorry to say, we had quite bad experience. Walking in we were pleased by the decor and cleanliness. It is much nicer inside than a bar called "Hang Time" would suggest but we found that incongruity charming. We were politely greeted and promptly seated. Then things started falling apart. It took forever for our waitress to see us the first time...so much so that the seating hostess came over and apologized. Then when she did arrive she was followed by an acrid cloud of cigarette smoke (I guess she was on a smoke break?)...not a great way to start off our meal. She took our drink orders and those were fine. Drinks are average priced for South Jersey. Looking over the menu the prices are quite high for what they are asking. Something like 16-18$ for freaking fish and chips!! We decided to just wade in so we ordered the $9 popcorn shrimp appetizer. They came out a reasonable amount of time later, but were not popcorn shrimp but rather 8 small fried regular shrimp arranged on a plate with cocktail sauce. THAT'S $1.26 per tiny shrimp not counting tip! Our waitress came back and asks us about our food. I mentioned calmly and politely that we thought the popcorn shrimp would be different based on the description and thought 8 tiny shrimp for $9 was a bit expensive, and that we knew it was not her fault at all but thought the restaurant should know. She was polite enough but we never saw her again after that...multiple attempts to wave her down or find her elsewhere in the restaurant to fill our drinks or even just get our check were unsuccessful. After 30-40 minutes we finally just cobbled together enough cash and change to pay our bill and tip and just left. Very surprised (based on the ratings) and disappointed in our experience. I will not be going back there and I hope other yelpers will read this review and at least have been warned. read more

The pizza was decent and the crab tostada was a little bland but okay. After approximately 20- 30 minutes without seeing him, we had to flag him down to order desert and once again to get the check. Once he dropped off the card, he said nothing to us. No goodbye or thank you. The restaurant wasn't that busy and when we were leaving, we saw him standing by the bar and it looked like he was watching a game.
