Shopping for a 2023 Kia, worst sales service ever experienced. This level of arrogance and rudeness I've never seen at any other dealership. I guess the low inventory has elevated the "take it or leave it" attitude of the salesman. It seemed apparent that some cultures pride themselves on being rude, we never got beyond the markup price in talking about a specific model....was told if I don't see the value in their large markup then I shouldn't be buying a car.....unbeleivable. Very disappointed with this dealership. The service side. I arrived at 9:20 to get my vehicle serviced. I got all checked in with the guy in the front. Really wish I had his name. Durning the conversation he asked me if I could leave him a review and he would take money off my service. He let me know it would take about 2 hrs to be completed. He asked if I was getting picked up. I told him unfortunately I would have to just wait it out. He pointed me in the direction of McDonald's/Starbucks. I went grabbed some breakfast and read my book. I walked back over at 11:40 to grab my van. When I went to front desk I was approached by the same guy and told my vehicle wasn't ready yet. I questioned how... being it was over 2 hours later. I asked if they even started it and he said no. Obviously I was extremely frustrated for the lack of communication. I believe I should have been called if service was going to take longer. To waste 2 hrs was extremely frustrating. To be offered money off for a review prior to the work being done was surprising to me as well. Well here is your review do better. Be better. I Also called the supervisor Joe to express my concerns. They were of course brushed off and I never heard back from him. I started talking to Sean via email and text messaging. I had my heart set on a new telluride with all the bells and whistles. I had been looking for weeks , comparing prices and what not. Sean let me know they had the vehicle I wanted in stock. He sent me pictures of the vehicle even when is was outside raining. Then he sent me new pictures the next morning when the raining stopped. We negotiated the price on my trade-in as well as the price of the new telluride all before I came into the dealership. They didn't try to change anything and they honored what we agreed on over the phone. Initially I was hesitant to do business here because of all the negative reviews. However, Sean and Andre were genuinely nice guys. They were more than fair and were pleasant to talk to. Sean made our entire purchase a pleasant experience. They even offered to buy us dinner while we waited for the financing department. My husband and I are loving our new car and the way these guys handled our business. My experience at Hanlees over the weekend was great considering it was Easter sunday and we were hoping to get a new car lease and be back to celebrate Easter with the family. I got my previous kia lease at Roseville 3 years ago and I just remember the process taking ALL day. I'm sure there were reasons for why it took so long, so I expected it to take just as long to return my lease and update it with a newer Kia in Davis. My aunt and I were relieved to see that Hanlees in Davis was not crowded/overwhelming unlike Roseville. We already knew exactly what we were looking for and Nora helped us from start to finish. We simply wanted to trade in my old lease 2020 kia with a new 2023 kia lease for another 3 years WITH comparable price points to what we were already paying. It took a bit of back and forth with their finance people, as expected in any dealership. But I will say the overall experience was smooth and pleasant. Nora, Alex, and other finance guys (sorry forgot your names) were very helpful, friendly, and EFFICIENT. I went to this dealership on January 5th (driving 80 miles from my residence) after seeing the vehicle I wanted on the Internet. I met with Nora who located the vehicle and arranged a test drive. I fell in love with the silver 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid XE SUV and decided to purchase it that day. Nora remained my primary contact throughout the process but a gentleman took over the financial aspects, acting as the middle man between me and the "men in charge" behind the front desk. Things went fairly smoothly and I was eventually turned over to David, the finance guy, to complete the necessary paperwork. That too went smoothly. The service department was detailing my new vehicle. Nora went in search of the second key fob for the vehicle. By the time the detailing was completed, she had not found it. I had to return to the dealer that Friday, January 8th to pick up a cargo cover that I ordered. I was assured that they would locate or otherwise obtain a second key fob before my return on January 8th. When I returned on January 8th, the cargo cover was in, but Nora was unable to locate the second key fob. I was told by both Nora and the middle man in the negotiation process they would immediately order it and FedEx it to me for arrival during the week of January 11th. I did not receive the key fob and did not hear from anyone at the dealership. On about January 18th and January 22nd, I called and spoke with Nora and on January 22nd was assured that it had been ordered a few days earlier. It is now February 6th. I have not received the missing part. I have not had any communication with anyone at the dealership. My patience is spent. I love my new car, but the customer service received from the staff at this dealership ranks no higher than "0" stars. read more

How this place isn't a COVID hotspot is beyond me. They do have outdoor seating if you are waiting for service. All I know is that I'll be going elsewhere for service in the future. I can't go somewhere that won't enforce a simple mask policy to protect their employees & the public. Honestly, this type of behavior is why I don't go anywhere if at all possible. Took my car in to Hanlees Davis Kia for service on a 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid EX, the same car that had the engine replaced approximately 50,000 miles ago because of an issue. Communication from the Service Advisor at the time was garbage, but the technician himself was actually amazing in communication and getting the vehicle covered. Fast forward to Monday this week. The vehicle had been making sounds from the tensioner pulley and was in need of a replacement. 50,000 miles mind you, all city driving, on a hybrid motor. The pulley seized and it thew a belt. Had it towed and was met by Jeff, who was actually very good to deal with. I was called my Mohamed later that morning to tell me that a bolt had broken off into the motor, and a few other pieces were damaged and the total cost would be approx $3000. I asked if it there was any warranty under the motor replacement and was told "if it was something we did, it would have happened a long time ago". If I was in his shoes, I probably would have said the same thing, that is the easiest scape goat "GFY" answer you could tell a customer. He assured me that he would contact Kia and see what he could do about the warranty if any, but needed authorization to purchase the part. Gave him the go ahead and awaited Kia's answer. I received a call this morning from Mohamed and was told that since "I haven't spent enough money with service through Kia, that the good service warranty couldn't be extended". I can handle the warranty information, but bad customer service in terms of how you speak to a customer and even worse, telling a customer that you need to spend more $$ in order to get a better outcome. I would not recommend any service needs to you Kia from this dealership. Take the extra time and mileage and take your Kia to a service center/dealership that will work with you in terms of your service needs. By no means am I saying the customer is always right, but you lost a customer based on your service and attitude provided to this one. read more

Do not come here for work. I was purposely misled with a quote for $700 for work on two parts. I was contacted two days later when work was supposed to be done, and told they only did half the work and my new price was $2000. The work they did do cost me $1000. I will never go here again. I keep giving them a chance and they just keep disappointing me and providing mediocre service. TLDR: Stop going to this service center and go to Vickers Automotive Repair instead. I took my car to Hanlees for my regular oil change. I was told it would take 2 hours. It ended up taking twice that. Not only that, the technician (Mohammed I believe) never updated me on the status as the day went on and I also noticed my car sitting outside for 30mins-45mins waiting for him to give me the keys. I felt like my time was disrespected and wasted. Not only that, but he tells me all these things my car needs to have fixed. He says it very fast, doesn't go into detail or give me room to ask questions. I can tell he's just trying to rush through me and go on to the next thing, nest customer. Some of the things on the list make no sense to me: brake lights (I just had my brake lights fixed though); hood hinges (what? the technicians from my oil change from 6months ago seemed to have no trouble with the hood). There was a bunch of other fixes that would end up costing me more than $1500 to fix. And I literally had a major (and expensive) tune-up last year! Yes, my car is older and needs more love, but I honestly think this service center wants to suck their customers dry and charge them for anything and claim it's just as a precaution. I took my car to Vickers for a second opinion and they basically told me nothing is wrong with my hood hinges, my brake lights were installed incorrectly (why didn't a Kia service technician see this during my last oil change??), and the other fixes were not necessary at this time. All I had to pay was a $75 service fee at Vickers to tell me my car was okay compared to the $1500 Hanlees wanted to charge me. Hanlees has lost a customer forever and I will continue to warn people about them. Even when I am ready to get a new car, I will not be buying from them at all and suggest everyone does the same. read more

This week is the first time that I have re-visited Hanlees since 2018 for service. At that time there were adjustments being made with the new dealership and a alot of disappointments in the management of ownership. Not sure anything has changed today because I only went in for recall items with service. The Service Manager, Greg Rhoads, is awesome!!! He gets 5 Stars! Not only did he take requests for additional items to be checked, but followed up with service to ensure they had all been taken care of. This is the worst dealership I have ever done business with. The girls at the service desk are extremely rude and unprofessional. Brought it in for a tire rotation where I marked the tire cuz I knew they wouldn't rotate it. After I received the car back, sure as heck they didn't rotate the tires and they marked the sheet as rotated. They will straight up lie to you. I then received a call from Randy Ycmat and was seting up a time to test drive, I told him about the email with the price he said that was wrong and I needed to add $10,000 to that price, he said they don't quote prices with tax and fees I said I would send him the email showing price and I asked him to see if the manager would honor the price on my email, he said no it's $10,000 more. As crooked as they come. I see an online ad for a brand new KIA for $21,945. I make the trip to Hanlees KIA, fully prepared to purchase the advertised vehicle. As soon as I speak with the salesperson, he hits me with, "please understand that the online price you see for that vehicle is incorrect. Because of the car shortage, there is a markup for the current market." The dealer markup is $5995!!! So the car went from $21k to $28k just because they said so. Screw them. Took our car to get diagnostic services. Made an appointment for Wednesday 5/11@8:30 am. Dropped the car off the night before so they could keep the car all day. Around 3:00 receive a call that they will need to keep our car another night which means we will have to pay for a rental car for another day. They do not contact us all day on Thursday to let us know what's going. My husband had to call to get an update where they told us it would be ready in 30 minutes. Over an hour goes by with no call so we call again and they finally tell us it will be ready by the end of the day. Get the car back and a panel is laying in the backseat. Who is going to out this back on? Am I going to have to take time off of work so it can be out back on? The worst Kia service I have ever experienced. Won't be back, came in for dashboard light that came on 1 x and walked out with a 4 k quote including work that did not need to be done. I went to another auto shop V Tech Auto in Fairfield and had some work done for 900 compared to the 2160 they wanted. I told them 3x I had a coupon and Maily said "oh we can use it when you come back I usually don't stay after 5 ". The reason I was there after 5 is because I had to call her twice for service status and she didn't return my call the 1 st time and I had to call back. Dealership is only good for a diagnostic if that. They even quoted me 73$ for a gas cap and 63$ for a rear wiper blade. I picked them both up on EBay for less than 20$ . Course the dealer will say "oh you need OEM , no one else is trained like we are" trained to use scare tactics, gouge you and try to get you to buy a new car. Go somewhere else read more

"WHAT'S YOUR HUSBANDS NATIONALITY?" I didn't buy a car here, but I was working with the sales over the phone. He called to let me know they had gotten a Telluride Sx. So I headed over. Shorty after arriving he asked me " what's your husband" I asked "what do you mean? " He said " nationality" I was shocked but answered. Then he asked where I was from, I told him the city and he said. " No, nationality" ... He seemed confused. Then asked where we met.... I don't even know what to say, or understand why this was important. But I can't help feeling that it played a role in how well I was going to be helped. My husband went over this morning and filed a formal complaint. He was told by the manager that perhaps it was because the sales person isn't American and wanted to see if we spoke his language. I feel like this is trying to excuse his behavior. I hope that no one else gets asked this. I understand asking about income, but not sure why our nationality or how someone of my race found my husband matters. read more

Most dealerships are shady, but Hanlee's of Davis is probably one of the worst in Northern California. I know Kia dealerships don't have the best of reputation, but my experience with their Marc Maines (Finance Director), Dave Pilch (General Manager) and David Sotomayor (Finance advisor) has been a living nightmare. Because I did not feel obligated to pay an amount that they were unwilling to share, I took the car back and received my trade-in in terrible condition. They drove 800 miles on it without purchasing it, it reeked cigarette smoke ( I'm pretty sure they allowed their staff to run errands, use it as a commuter or loaner car), passenger seat has a lump in it, their belongings left in it (sunglasses, old masks etc.), changed out the license plate frames, but could not give me back my custom chrome frames back, leftover chip crumbs in the back seat, white stuff on the front seats. It's terrible, they should be ashamed of themselves. All-in-all, Nora, Alyex, Dave, David and Marc are fake, incompetent, unprofessional and lack transparency. I would never go back to this dealership especially because they don't wear masks! Avoid this place at all cause. read more

My skid plate was hanging by a thread a couple weeks ago due to some screws that were 'missing' per Walmart oil change (my schedule is very tight so Walmart was for convenience). Not wanting my skid plate to fall off (I found out on a Sunday at 4pm) my father placed some zip ties to get me through to when I could bring it in to be checked by Kia. Got in contact with the service advisor Vinny at Kia Davis. He told me to swing by and as long as nothing else was wrong they would get me taken care of ASAP. I went in that Friday and was in an out within 30 min or less. Vinny was super nice and very helpful. I purchased my vehicle here in 2018 and have tried to be loyal to coming here for all services, and every time I come in, there is always an issue, staff rotating all the time, and this morning I get here with an appointment, which doesn't really matter, you will be checked in whenever. Second, I have come in for my normal oil change and fluids checked and filled, and tire rotation, as normal, checking in I advised the service advisor, last night my check engine light came on, could you please check that, and I was told...yeah we can, for $200...WTH!! I said as a loyal customer that purchased my car here, you can't check it, unbelievable!! Well needless to say, I will not be returning, as I can go to a freaking auto zone and have it checked for free, to at least tell me what the issue is or could be!! Anyone thinking of purchasing a vehicle and wanting to keep all records in one place, I would recommend giving another dealership a try!! I would never purchase another vehicle from this place!! My son and I went shopping for his new car. This was our first stop. The woman that initially helped us was very friendly and kind. As soon as we got back from the test drive, she turned us over to a male coworker who treated us like dirt. The Kia that my son was interested in was listed online at a little over $23,000 but when we arrived to see the car there was an additional sticker padding the price to well over $31,000. I explained that we would not have come in because the second price was well beyond his budget. They told me it had just come onto the lot and it had not been updated in the listing. I told him this was false advertising and misleading. He said the most he could do would be to take $1500 off of the padded option. I told him that would not be enough and we needed to negotiate. He told me there would be no negotiation beyond that because this was his only model of this car and he could not come down anymore than that. I told him that there were multiple lots listing this car between 23 and $24,000 and he told me that was a very good price like I should go buy it somewhere else. I explained to him that he owned this vehicle and as a business owner he should sell his product to turn a profit so that he can buy additional product. He told me this was the only model of this car in at this time and he didn't know when he would get any more in. Made absolutely no sense, and he lost the sale. It was a totally dishonest 30% markup in price which I'm seeing he does regularly if you read other reviews. When we went to the Vacaville Kia and mentioned that we had been to Davis, their response was, "Have you seen his prices? We get a lot of his business. " We ended up buying the car he wanted at Elk Grove Kia for exactly what the MSRP was and we also received $2800 in additional features. read more

First of all, they fluctuated the price on a car they listed on car gurus buy 3000, then they drop the price another thousand, they overstimulated with the car actually look like and all the features basically they lied to us, very bad communication over the phone,then they drop the ball of getting the windows tinted before we got there, car was very dirty had to detail it twice to get it halfway decent wipers were shot different tires messed up the paperwork how to do it twice and On top of that we had to drive away to discover they forgot to put the paper plates, said they would overnight them six days later still have not received them very poor service, lack integrity and dignity in treating customers more fairly would not recommend this dealership read more

Called yesterday night to see if they could fit me in before I drive from Davis to Orange County this week to go home for Thanksgiving and Vinny said he had a busy schedule, but he was able to fit me in this morning for an inspection to make sure my car would be okay for the drive and they topped off the car fluids. All I can say is great service! Vinny was super nice and even gave me a discount which is greatly appreciated as I am a struggling college student and any time I can save money helps immensely. I had only been there once before and it was good service that time as well. The cashiers are sweet and welcoming. Also, they have complimentary tea, coffee, donuts, or popcorn in the lobby area which is nice since I didn't have time to get breakfast before class this morning. I don't get on Yelp much these days, but some times an experience is so far out side of the norm it has to be shared. So here is my story take it for what it's worth. With the holiday sales on my wife and I decided it was time to get rid of her old Chevy and look at a new Kia on Friday the November 29th. Elk Grove Kia offers an extended power train warranty with all of their vehicles for 20 years and 200,000 miles. My wife first called ahead to see if they would match it and was told that they would work something out. During the three hour negation my wife must have brought up that warranty no fewer then 10 times. Each time we were told they would match it. At one point the salesman did come back and say that his manager used to work their and that the warranty wasn't any good and didn't really cover much. Perhaps this was his passive-aggressive way of now telling us they wouldn't match it? But my wife brought it up as a requirement a few times throughout the process. After all the typical car salesmen games and normal upscale we get to the finance managers offices, and are told they can not honer the warranty. We walked out over it and went to Elk Grove and got the same deal there (in half the time). Now I'm well aware that Elk Grove is banking on us either not maintaining the car properly or not having the car long enough to ever use that warranty, it's value is only that of peace of mind. Perhaps we could have worked through this has they not out right lied to me on the sales floor. This would just be a normal car dealership story had it ended there but it did not. That night I see that they have put a hold on my debit card for half the down payment. I call the Hanlee and ask them to remove it. I'm told it will be removed on 11-30. On 11-30 the charge cleared. I call again on 12-1 and am told that the money will be back in my account on 12-2. I call back on 12-3 and am told it will be back in my account by 12-6. I call back on 12-6 and am told that the finance manager is manually returning the money to my account and he will call me right back. No call back. I show up on the lot on 12-7 and am handed a hand written receipt and told that it is with the business center and that they should be calling me. 2 hours later the money was back in my account. Did I need to show up on the lot to get my money back or was it all coincidence? I can't really say, but either way the run around was not appreciated. It doesn't seem anyone here is capable of being direct and honest. There are better options for car buying in the area, you might have to drive a bit more, but it's worth the extra time to know you are being treated fairly. Besides even factoring in drive time it took me roughly the same amount time to get a deal done in Elk Grove anyway. Still no phone call BTW. I won't be holding my breath on that nor will I be doing any business with Hanlees Kia. read more

After calling and visiting several auto repair shops and body shops -- regarding my broken sunroof on a 9yr old Kia Sedona minivan (which we still love) -- could not find anyone to help solve the problem. In fact most everyone gave some version of ~ "we avoid working on sunroofs in general" and two shops looked but could not find the problem. Well my friend Dominic solved it in about 3mins flat, right on the checkin pad in real-time, saved me a ton of $$ and time, compared to all the others. Thanks Dominic!!! read more
