Last week I noticed a leak coming from my rear wheel and assumed it was a brake line so I immediately stopped by Hans Imports on the way to work. I left the car and they diagnosed it and it turned out to be the shocks. They were able to schedule me the following day to replace both rear shocks and some other minor things. I picked up the car at the end of the day, they showed me pictures they had taken and went through a whole diagnostic check up on my car. They are very thorough and professional. Omar & Dave are great! I've brought my 2013 VW in 3 separate times for repairs. I've hit that part in my car's lifespan that things are starting to break. I personally met with owner 3 times in last six months. The first time he said he had previously worked on Alfas but some person did not pay him At the end of my meeting he said he would help! However when it came to replacing my side vent he told me he "was not body shop"! Today, I asked him to diagnose why my battery which was 8 months old kept needing to be charged He simply said he would not work on ałfas! Very independent i obviously was wery upset!! read more

Had our Passat engine valves n such replaced b/c car timing belt went. Didn't mind the 2,200.00 bill but, brakes pedal was grinding when car came back. I do all brakes oil changes etc on our car. Upon inspection, brakes rusted like they came out of a bone yard. Suspect they set car up for another repair job. Job also took forever. read more

Omar at Hans Imports is a rock star! I recently drove to RI from out of state for Labor Day weekend in my 30+ year old Alfa Romeo. On the second day of my trip I woke up to find that my car would not start. After spending a couple hours trying to get the car started with my basic mechanical knowledge, I was in desperate need of a mechanic to get me out of this jam. Because my car make is somewhat uncommon, I needed to find someone with more specialized experience. I also needed to find someone who could try to fix my car on the Friday before the long weekend. Fortunately I called Hans Imports. Omar at Hans Imports was willing to adjust his schedule to look at my car. After having my car towed there and explaining to Omar my starting problem and what I had already tried, Omar got to work. Omar kept me regularly updated while he methodically worked on my car. He informed me once he determined that it was not a spark issue and that he would next look at the fuel pump and electrics. Eventually he called me to inform me that it was an electrical problem. Because it was already late in the day, I didn't expect Omar to be able to fix it then. However, Omar was willing to work until 7 on the Friday before Labor Day in order to get me back on the road that night! Further, he gave me a detailed invoice and the price was reasonable. All in all, I could not have asked for a better mechanic. Omar helped me out of a big jam and because of him my weekend wasn't ruined. He is very knowledgeable about European imports and is also very funny and friendly, which I really appreciated in my circumstance. Why can't I give 10 or 100 stars for this place? Took my fussy VW there after it died a mile away and I knew nothing about this place. They offered me a ride home even though I lived in walking distance and called me with a quote before touching my car. Told me it couldn't be looked at until Friday (dropped it off at closing time on Wednesday) but they fixed her and she was ready to go on Thursday! I know nothing about cars and when I go to pick up my baby, they had photos to walk me through other things I may need done in the future with rough estimates and if they really even needed to be done. They did a complete walk through of my car which I greatly appreciated. Not expensive in my opinion and so kind. Also, my tranny has been awful for 3 months where I am actually stressed while driving, for whatever reason, I drove my car around afterwards (and today) and it's driving smoother than when I first purchased it. I had to make sure I was even in the correct car! I don't know what they did, but I highly recommend them and will take my cars here. read more

David took care of our suburban after a sudden cooling leak occurred. It was a difficult situation, my wife had taken the vehicle on a road trip and was suddenly stuck a long way from home. I quickly searched for repair shops online and Hans came up as a well reviewed establishment. After a conversation with Dave, I felt comfortable enough to have the suburban towed to the shop where within the afternoon they had it up and running. They stayed late, as long as it took to complete the repair even though they didn't have the exact parts they needed. They did not take advantage of my wife, being from out of town, and the vehicle was back on the road running well. Their communication was good too, which helped since I was not nearby and my wife couldn't stay during the repair. Given the situation I think we were lucky to have chosen this shop. read more

Had a mystery problem with my Tacoma (something around the transmission). Dropped it off on the way home. These guys did a great job localizing three distinct problems (my parking breaks were frozen also). They communicated very well, provided detailed documentation for everything they did, and had the replaced pieces on hand for inspection. Had a customer vehicle with numerous random issues despite having the cluster replaced at Balise VW as diagnosed by them. Upon returning the vehicle to the dealer I was advised that it would be over $800 in repairs just to get to the point of being able to diagnose the actual issues. I spoke to the customer and asked for the option to have Omar at Hans give it a whirl. Omar was able to schedule me in quickly to be able to see the vehicle. They were quickly able to address many issues and quickly resolve all of the concerns. When the vehicle was completed the customer was beyond happy that not only was the problem resolved but the price was very reasonable but above all she was impressed with the full description of everything that was performed on her "Baby" and was comfortable with the repairs. I wrote this as a "tip" but I'm going to do it again as a review. DO NOT GO TO THIS MECHANIC. They will not do the many repairs they charge you for and the ones they do do will not be up to standard. I had my car checked with a reputable mechanic after taking it to Omar. Turns out my suspicions were correct when I started to figure out that I had been completely ripped off. And when you do read this, Omar, you stole away my entire savings account. I have nothing now. I'm 25, working as much as I can for below living wages and now I don't even have a safety account. Not even my car is up to scratch thanks to his handwork. He printed out a very extensive writeup on what exactly they did, an all the numerous other problems I should have fixed when the time comes. Not only did he make me feel completely paranoid about my car breaking down, brakes and all, but he lied about the damage. Brought my car to another shop to check the breaks that Omar said "could go anytime" and they reassured me that they were fine. He also would've charged double for the repair. If this isn't enough for you to turn and run the other way, just take a look at the dirty dingy place. And I will also mention again: go ahead an research the "good" reviews and comments. Very soon you will see they are all written by the same one or two people on fake accounts. I have nothing to gain from writing this bad review, I just simply hope to spare somebody else the pain and financial strain this establishment put me through. As a Master Technician... I know cars. I was busy running my own heating oil business and decided to send my vintage 1966 VW to Han's Imports. First of all, the name "Han's" seems cool. Sorta like some German Wizard will be working on your vehicle.... well, not true, not true (at all) Shop owner name in Omar, and in my opinion is 100% thief. I had my vehicle there and ended up suing him for fraud. I ensure you I have NOT been the only one. In fact, his attorney is in jail since my last lawsuit. Good Ol' Omar also left my vintage southern convertible outside in the rain for 2 weeks then blamed me for not "providing a tarp" once my car was soaked with rain. I lost my entire investment in this vehicle + his fraudulent (unneeded) repairs- The police were on site to "keep the peace" so could have my vehicle towed home to replace the 40.00 part I sent it there for- Although spent almost 2000.00 on a wiring harness it didn't need. Omar wants your CASH- nothing more. If he was an honest business man he would have taken care of my VERY low cost issue I sent it there for. I sent it here for a simple repair. He sold me a priced repair 20 x's that request. (then he was wrong) - and demanded (that repair) plus his error. In addition, why is everyone "so excited" after spending hundreds of dollars on repairs? I mean, folks spend 500 bucks on front brakes and they are SO thrilled they post a review??? Please now.... He ***CAN NOT*** be trusted!!!!! The "over the top" reviews of this shop proves theory in itself. read more
