This was a great place if you're looking for an inexpensive place to grab breakfast. It looks a bit rough on the outside but once you enter it was very clean and updated with a college student vibe. The prices were excellent for the portion size. The menu was extensive. My husband and I ordered the egg griddles, one ham one sausage, and both were huge and delicious. Food is great - really great!! and they offer delivery- but with a $30 minimum order. First off, breakfast is cheap. It's hard to reach a $30 minimum on breakfast. I ordered a breakfast for 5 people and still didn't reach the minimum to order. Second, if you're going to have a minimum, be consistent. One day my order total was $9 and nothing was said about the minimum. The next day my order was $25 and they told me I fell short- this was when I finally learned of the minimum. I do continue to get breakfast here when I can find 6-7 people who haven't had breakfast yet, but that's definitely a challenge and I end up having to order from a competitor instead-who we're 7 miles away from. The owner explained to me that it's because we're so far out of the way that they have such a high minimum, but we're only 3 miles away. I had the red velvet pancakes, which are a Valentine's Day special event. They were the best pancakes that I've eaten in New Brunswick. My experience was great as well! I've had Hansel a few times and you can only enjoy this food when you're a drunk bastard, and the prices here are outrageous for frozen food. The only thing here that isn't awful is the buffalo crisp other than that it's pretty bad food and too big of a menu. The smoothies aren't bad but I am not trying to paying 8$ for a smoothie there. Much better food in Brunswick to choose from. The staff is usually friendly but I have had a few issues about splitting a check literally in half with one other person on a few occasions. I ordered pick up and when I got there it was basically empty and they had a full staff of employees and not one of them even acknowledged they had a customer. They were behind the counter talking and laughing and each would stare right at me and not say anything. Ok, so I went to Hansel and Griddle and I didn't try the crisps. I know, I know what was I thinking? I just really wanted a burger and crisps just seemed like glorified quesadillas. But then I sat down and, literally, every single table had a crisp on it and they looked amazing. But, our burger was pretty good too. We got the cheddar and bacon burger and it came fully loaded with lettuce, tomato and onions with an unfortunately limp pickle on the side. Hansel & Griddle has been my go-to for some time now for they are well-versed in the art of wraps. If you can't find a wrap(or crisp) that sounds good to you then you need to do some critical thinking and question what you look for in a meal. What I'm trying to say here is that not only do their wraps contain incredible ingredients and sound awesomely delicious, but they follow through and really know how to make 'em. Even better than their wraps however, are their absurdly amazing shakes. There is nothing I can say about the revered Banana Flip to convince you of its godliness, other than "order it immediately". When you need a break from regularly ingesting that blend of peanut-buttery banana bliss, I recommend you go for the strawberry covered oreos shake, as it is also a present for your taste buds. For these reasons, Hansel and & Griddle have helped make my stint at Rutgers a satisfying and tasty one. read more

While working we stopped in New Brunswick at this little gem. Packed with Rutgers students I knew this place was popular. The line was long but moved quickly. I ordered the grilled chicken, roasted red peppers and mozzarella sandwich. It took a while to make but that gave me an opportunity to look at everyone ordering the shakes which eventually I helped myself to one as well. Glad I did because I was not disappointed. It tasted fresh and well made. The sandwich did take some time but with the crowd that was there it was understandable. When I bit into my sandwich it was well worth the wait. We used Hansel and Griddle to cater our daughter's first birthday party for about 50 people. I knew I wanted a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and crisps. I spoke with the people at Hansel and explained how many people I was expecting to have at the party and they worked with me to create an awesome array of delicious party food. More than anything I wanted my guests to be able to enjoy a delicious lunch and not feel stressed as the hostess. I'm really happy that all the party planning stress disappeared once I ordered all the food items. On the day of the party everything arrived at the agreed upon time and was set up and labeled for us. There was also tons of dipping sauces and condiments handy. My overall experience as a first time customer for catering was a great one and I would definitely use Hansel and Griddle again. We put our order in, and stood right in front of the counter waiting 15 mins, but we agreed it felt more like 7 years, for our smoothies to be ready. Hansel is the best go to food when you are in the mood for anything. Their crisps are what they are known for as they are essentially quesadilla meets panini type of handheld sandwiches. My favorites are the Breakfast crisp and the Buffalo Chicken crisp. We will occasionally get smoothies with our orders as well and they are very tasty as well. The only issue as of late is that the prices have seemingly increased faster than you'd expect so now a meal for two with smoothies is about $35. Overall I appreciate Hansel. It is always there for you, during a snowstorm or late at night. They have vegetarian options, even if they aren't the best things in the world. The s'mores cookie is really really good and they'll warm it up for you. I like the smoothies (but hate that they come in styrofoam). My omnivore bf likes the wings and the buffalo crisp is always reliable. I really like the greek salad. Plenty of options for a reasonable price. This place makes solid crisps, which are basically Quesadillas. The burgers are pretty good too, though they don't always bring out condiments for the table when you eat in. It's really great to be able to customize your order and the online ordering feature is really convenient. My favorite side has to be the tater tots or the potato wedges which always satisfy! They don't always give you enough ketchup for the fries in takeout orders, but I've got a bottle at home that I'm happy to use. Don't believe the hype about this place. The only good thing about hansel is the smoothies. The food is over fried and unhealthy. The crisps are very overrated and theirs only a few balls of fried crisp on each one. The whole make it a meal doesn't really make the place any better. You ending up paying 11 + dollars for a meal that should cost you 7 bucks at most. Eating inside this place isn't so bad but not good either. This place has a high popularity for reasons I can not figure out. I lived across the street from Hansel (Easton Ave) for the majority of my time at Rutgers which I must say was extremely dangerous. I have tried just about everything on their menu (which, believe me, is hard to do as their menu is huge) and there isn't one thing not to love. The BBQ chicken crisp, Fed special, Lumberjack, Turkey Melt and Chili are ALL favorites. Seriously, if you are anywhere in the area do yourself a favor and go. Super easy to do since this once small shack on Mine St. is now popping up in different locations all over Jersey. I wish them the best and can only hope that they expand to NYC! read more
