Looking for a late night Korean spot? Hanshin is the place to enjoy some great drinks and food. The restaurant/bar isn't as busy in the later hours but nonetheless it hits the spot for cravings. We opted for the Korean fried chicken and the bulgogi fries. The chicken was super flavorful and crunchy while the fries packed a lot of different textures and flavors. My personal fave was the egg on top and the bulgogi, which amped the dish even more! The tables are arranged differently and they have coverings which makes it a bit more private. However the service could use some work, you have to ring a button which is typical and honestly didn't expect great service for late night. Food was great and I would be back just to try other dishes!

Really nice, laid back pocha with great vibes and staff. All of the tables are separated by tent-like tarps, so when you sit inside it feels cozy & private, almost like you're in a pojangmacha in Seoul. I did appreciate the intimacy and it made it easier to hear everyone in my party. Loved the drinks- highly recommend their green apple makgeolli in particular. When our server found out it was my birthday, she brought us another bottle of makgeolli, completely complimentary. It was so sweet of her to do so, and totally unexpected. Of the food, I especially loved their potato jeon (glutinous and chewy), seafood jeon (super flavorful), and ppurings korean fried chicken (pretty much perfect kfc). I was super excited to try their cheese snowing chicken since it's my favorite korean fried chicken flavor, but it didn't have enough cheesiness or seasoning in my memory. Will definitely be back for more late night snacks in the future! :) - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 5/5

Came here on a Saturday night for a late dinner. I liked that the bell system allowed for us to request assistance when we needed it. We ordered the nurungji seafood soup, the roasted squid, and some bibim guksu. It was my first time trying bibim guksu. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles and the balance of flavor though I'd have preferred it to be spicier. I liked the flavor of the soup, but it was missing the nurungji. I thought the squid was ok. One of my favorite things about Korean food is the banchan and unfortunately when I went they only had kimchi available. Although I like the bell service, I found it hard to get the attention of an attendant when trying to pay and leave the restaurant. Overall the food was ok and the service was average here.

Moved to Houston in the beginning of January and have been trying to find really good Asian food. One of my coworkers wife invited me to this restaurant. When I was driving here I realized this is the spot that I've been looking for. So many different Asian restaurants, boba spots and grocery store. Everything is located here. So happy to know this area now. The tofu kimichi stew was delicious! Best one I've had since being here. The fried dumplings were delicious as well. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and cute. Add this restaurant to my Houston restaurant list!

This is a great spot for hanging out and drinking with friends. The place has nice decor and good vibes. It's called Pocha, and it really gives you that authentic pocha feel -- like the red tent-style street stalls in Korea that usually serve hot food. Personally, I found it a bit warm inside the tent since there isn't much airflow (the tent blocks it), and these tents are typically meant for outdoor use to protect from cold and wind. My friends and I ordered a bunch of food and drinks, and the bill came out to under $130 -- cheaper than we expected for everything we had. The prices are very reasonable! Here's what we tried: - French Fries - They didn't look quite like the photo on the menu, but they were still good and simple, like any fries. - Corn Cheese - Really tasty! I liked the cheese they used. - Ramyun - Came with an egg; simple and classic, just like any good ramyun. - Rose Tteokbokki - Creamy, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. I did feel this one was a little pricey compared to the rest. - Kimchi Fried Rice - Well-seasoned and a huge portion. Even with four of us, we had plenty of leftovers. - Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken - Delicious, crispy, and a large portion. We devoured it! - Korean Beef Short Rib - Huge portion and nicely seasoned. They offered white rice with it, but we passed since we already had the fried rice. Everything was great -- amazing ambiance, excellent service. The staff checked on us often and made sure everything was good. They also offer free refills on banchan (side dishes), and the banchan itself was delicious (I forgot to mention that earlier!). Overall, I highly recommend this place for a fun night out with friends. It's open late (until 2 AM!), so it's perfect for hanging out until midnight.

I came there at late night so the restaurant was not packed with people. I didn't have to wait long for the food and the food were great. The only things that I did not like there is they don't have banchan and the service was a little bit slow.

Honestly, it was just okay. The food looked great when it arrived, but once we started digging in, we quickly realized that most of the dishes were overloaded with onions. For the price, we were expecting more substance and better quality. Overall, everything felt pretty mediocre--the flavors didn't really stand out. On a positive note, the place itself was cute, and the ambiance was nice. The service was fine, but nothing particularly memorable.

Service 5 STARS, AMBIANCE 5 stars!!! Food was a little short, let me explain, because this was very hard for me to give 3 stars. I appreciate the staff for the great service. The food was just subpar and that's really it. Maybe I need to come back and try more stuff. I got kimchi fried rice, KFC, ramen, and fries. Highlights: did I say great service? they had this doorbell that was pretty efficient, and we got happy hour soju, totally worth it! highly recommend coming here during the week, to have a little soju, which means a few bottles for a little night cap. Somehow soju just taste so much sweeter when you had a long day, long week, or even ready to quit you job haha! all jokes aside. insert angel emoji here. Plenty of parking, and yes I'll come back to try more on the menu!

I was craving for Korean food and saw this restaurant on Instagram. The layout is really cool, each table is divided with the red tents. Give you an intimate experience and also like eating on the streets of Korea. I ordered whole fried chicken and it was delicious. Everything we ordered were seasoned just right. Our server came to take our orders and gave us recommendations, there's also a button on the wall to push if we need anything.

Actual rating: 4.5/5 stars Me and my friends stopped by Hanshin Pocha on a Tuesday night for dinner. The tables here have these orange curtains separating them, which I thought was nice. It made it a little more private. The tables also have a little station with napkins, chopsticks, straws, hand sanitizer, and a trash can. Once you're ready to order, there's a button that you can press to have a server come to your table. Service was a little slow here. It was relatively busy though, and maybe they're also understaffed? What I dooon't understand though, is why the same song kept playing over and over on repeat the entire time. It was "goodbye with smile" by Soya n Sun. And it wasn't even the whole song playing on repeat, just one section of the song. But it's fine, my main priority is the food, which was very good! We ordered: - Corn cheese - Sweet & spicy chicken wings (small size) - On-the-spot rose tteokbokki - Korean beef short rib So starting off with the corn cheese, the corn was crunchy and sweet! The cream was also good, and it was sooo cheesy! I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe a little tooo cheesy. I would've liked more corn and less cheese. But overall, this was still very good, and definitely one of the better corn cheese that I've had. The corn cheese is listed as a starter though, but it came at the very end of our meal, which was kinda ironic. One thing that I LOVE about this pocha is the food that is listed as spicy, is ACTUALLY spicy!! I've been to a good amount of pochas, and for some reason, their "spicy" food is never spicy. Even to my low spice tolerance friends and family. So I was so happy when the sweet and spicy chicken wings and the rose tteokbokki had a nice kick to it! The wings were super crispy as well. The only issue I had with it was some parts of the batter was a little cold for some reason? The actual chicken was warm though. The rose tteokbokki was my favorite thing there! The best one that I've had by far. The sauce was super creamy, sweet, and spicy. The tteokbokki, fish cakes, noodles and veggies were perfect with it. It also came with a plate of fried calamari and dumplings that tasted good dipped in the sauce. The korean beef short rib was also really tasty. It was a little chewy, but the flavor was just so good. Overall, I really loved everything that we ordered. Just some little tweaks needed.

Staff was rude and the food wasn't great either. We shouldn't have to hit the call button for a menu and cups for the water. Also everytime we hit the call button the staff acted like we were burdening them. The food was hit and miss the bulgogi and galbi were good but the ramen.... not so much.

Overall, we really enjoyed this spot! The corn cheese was decent but the BEEF Bulgogi..... UGH it was so delicious. The chicken wings were mid because they didn't have much meat on them. But the flavor was really good! They also have really good sauces on your table to try that are scrumptious.

The menu is big, but every item on it is executed so well. The flavors are comparable to that you'll get in Korea, with the side dishes few but perfect (the kimchi, jjangachi, and radish kimchi). My favorite is the gamjatang---there is so much meat, the potatoes are piping hot, and the soup is perfectly seasoned and rich. The pancakes and blood sausages are also delicious. Tasty Ko is located further South of I-10 in an assuming plaza. As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town. We ordered the Chef's Table which comes with 4 preselected meats (all beef). My favorites were the unmarinated and marinated kalbi. It's actually quite hard to find Korean BBQ places these days that don't strictly follow the AYCE model with lower quality cuts. These were very good cuts of meat. I could've probably done without the other two cuts. They were good cuts of meat, but the kalbi really stands out. This Chef's Table set comes with 2 sides, but you should know before going that banchan does NOT come along with the meal like many Korean restaurants you might be used to. So don't expect kimchi, salads, or even the lettuce wraps to come along with the meat. You can still order them of course, but will have to be included in your choice of 2 sides. We also ordered: - Seafood Pancake - pancake itself wasn't bad, but not extraordinary. The sauce for this was a bit of a let down. It also didn't arrive until the end of the meal which is unusual. But the service itself while friendly and kind was incomplete. We had to ask for a bunch of things that normally is just considered without mentioning and we didn't see our waiter visit that much after the food was delivered. - Ja Jang Myun - This was quite honestly the blandest set of noodles I've ever eaten at any restaurant. Both my wife and I have never had something taste like nothing. Which was too bad because the noodles themselves were cooked quite nicely. Not overly soft. Very disappointing. So back to the punchline, come here for the meat and skip the other stuff. I will say, they have a lot of different specials throughout the week so maybe those might be worth checking out before coming here because it is a bit pricy for what you get.
