This morning I got up bright and early at 630a to help set up tents, tables and chairs, signage for all the vendors to use; met the market mgr Candy (she's awesome) I talked to a lot of people (which I love) and i helped sell Morgan Elementary schools veggies from their garden. I bought some fresh kombucha from 3rd Coast and fresh homemade tamales from, momma's tamales in Houston. It started raining and lightning around 1045a; I needed to leave at 11am so it all worked out. Love volunteering

It's well organized with a a variety of dedicated staff and vendors. It's a true community experience. The location is spacious and accessible, and the food that I have bought from there is always really good. I have bought baked goods like cookies, breads, bagels, Indian food, and dog treats for my dogs. I've also bought fresh vegetables and handmade soaps. Today I was there on a rainy day, and the vendors were still there and ready for their customers. I was also impressed by the community support because people were still shopping in the rain, with and without umbrellas and raincoats.

This is a cute little açaí truck, it was clean, and the employ was friendly. Pros: I do love how they have a build your own option with UNLIMITED toppings. That's always fun. I liked adding practically everything to mine. Cons: The actual açaí base was very thick. Similar to ice cream in texture. Maybe just preference, but I would prefer it a little thinner. It was also a little on the sweet side. They use Cane sugar as the sweetener. They also use Jiffy peanut butter. Açaí places a lot of times attract people who are a little more health conscious. Honey as a sweetener and a natural peanut butter without harmful hydrogenated oils and extra added sugars would have been nice. :) Since there was not a more healthy option, I went with Nutella! For those who don't care about those last two things, this place is perfect !

I have never had a bowl so fresh and the sweet and friendly girl working the counter recommended The Causeway and it was delicious. Cute little food truck located on The Strand. I will definitely be back to try their other bowl's. Sorry I don't have a picture, it smelled so amazing I couldn't wait to try it.

I've been visiting since I was a little girl, and coming back reminded me exactly why it's such a staple on the Strand. This place has been part of Galveston for generations, and it still delivers that same magic. It's always busy, always full of energy, and there's truly something here for everyone. The candy shop alone is worth the stop--rows of old-fashioned sweets, fresh confections, and that nostalgic atmosphere you just don't find anymore. The divinity is divine, and the ice cream is just as good as I remembered. I had the lemon custard (so good!), my brother got a scoop of chocolate on a cone, and my friend ordered cinnamon. My mom insisted she didn't want anything...until she tried my friend's cinnamon. She loved it so much she immediately went and got her own, which says everything. And for $5 a scoop, two could easily share. This is one of those must-stop places when you're on the Island. Whether you're there for the ice cream, the candy, or just the experience, it never disappoints. A+.

This is the only ice cream I favor over blue bell brand, Wherever I'd watch Bonnie and Clyde the scene when the big police guy exit with the tiny box of ice cream, makes me think of LKC ice cream. I can't leave Galveston without getting my scoop. Pearline pecan tasted better than my fav butter pecan. Only at LA KING'S though. I normally wouldn't get Pearline pecan. No military discount. One scoop is $5. Visit on a Sunday afternoon, it was quite a crowd, in January. Taffy man was making fresh taffy and still throwing it to the crowd. I love seeing this. Glad to see they're keeping old traditions alive.
