If you are looking at this review on Yelp, wondering if you should try this place out - the answer is a resounding YES! Stop thinking and just go, you won't regret it! My family and I stayed in the area for a few days and of all the food we ate during our trip, this was one of our favorite. My mouth is watering just thinking about the medley of fries, steak, chicken with their heavenly sauces drizzled over the top. If I recall correctly it was around $20 for the Double Shaka Fries, which is extremely reasonable given the sheer quantity and quality of food you get - particularly in this location. If you do get the double Shaka Fries like I did, you'll be full when you are about halfway through. You're not going to stop though because it tastes too spectacular. My wife was also impressed by her order of teriyaki chicken. If I lived in the area, I would visit this establishment on a regular basis. read more

This former surf shop annexed to the PB Shore Club has been converted into a Hawaiian-inspired food shack. It's literally steps from the beach which also means nearby parking is non-existent as the spaces get filled up early. A canopy was set up next to the structure with some tables underneath for on-site dining. The fast-casual menu consisted of smashburgers, fries, teriyaki bowls, and shave ice. My hope was that more island fare was going to be featured (e.g. garlic shrimp, musubi, poke, etc). I selected a teriyaki bowl with tri-tip as a protein. A base of jasmine white rice was served with the meat along with broccoli, carrots, and onions. Teriyaki sauce, kook sauce, and kimchi seasoning provided flavoring while green onions and toasted sesame seeds topped off the bowl. I think one sauce would have been sufficient as too much was doused on the mixture. The tri-tip was chewy and not as tender as it could have been. I didn't try the shave ice, but it's a good dessert option along the PB boardwalk which already has many spots for ice cream. Going forward, I would like to see other Hawaiian grub on the menu. For this haole, I gave my experience at Haole Shack a three star rating. read more

This place is not worth your time or money... I ordered the tri-tip bowl. The tri-tip was dry the jasmine rice looked like medium grain, American rice. It did not taste good. It was not worth the money. My boyfriend got a cheeseburger and he said it was delicious. He also got the fries that have tri-tip and chicken. The chicken was dry and burnt. the spam musubi will change your life i promise you. i can't believe there isn't a review about it yet. the outside is fried in a thin layer of breadcrumbs, and topped with this heavenly sauce that tastes to be a sort of blend of mayo and thousand islands. the furikake seasoning sprinkled on top really brings it all together. the seaweed wasn't soggy either. a perfect but filling quick bite. i miss it already. also their smash burgers are pretty good but don't even hold a candle to these gifts from heaven. read more

Before I review the food, want to talk about how amazing the staff is at this place. The lady and younger gentlemen who worked on 6/22/25 completely turned our entire day around with how amazing their friendliness and service was. We're a family of 4, with two kids, and they helped us with every crazy thing that comes with having kids like getting a single burger patty without the buns, providing fries without seasoning, helping with a shaved ice into two small cups, providing extra plates, providing extra napkins etc. If you're a parent YOU KNOW how these little things can change your meal around completely and for us, it turned this random shack into our absolutely favorite place, all because of these two employees. Seriously can't praise them enough. Regarding the food, that doesn't even require hype, it's so delicious. The smash burgers, amazing. The teriyaki bowls, absolutely delicious with a ton of flavor and healthy. The shaved ice, takes you right back to Hawaii. Ambiance, right on the water. You really can't beat this place. It's our official meal stop in PB, thanks to the employees and the food being delicious! Hope the manager of this place sees this some day and finds out which employees I'm talking about. Stopped by here to grab a bite while in the area. We ordered the Big Haole and an order of Double Shaka Fries. The burger is a triple smash burger that was good, but slightly under seasoned. With that much meat, a little more seasoning on the patties goes a long way. I make the same mistake when I make smash burgers sometimes. The fries however were excellent.
