Poke Chop is such an outstanding poke place at Pacific beach. The place was very clean. The staff were welcoming. They have detailed instructions for the customers on how to order. There are five steps when creating your order: the base, the unlimited sides, the protein, sauces, and lastly the toppings. They also have a menu for ready-made poke. Their poke was very fresh, flavorful and the amount was generous. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our poke bowls. There was no indoor seating, only outdoor seating. Most of the customers were picking up their orders. Parking is available in the side street but may be difficult. I am glad I found this outstanding Poke Chop. For sure I will be back when I am visiting San Diego.

They have the menu on the side and on the table to order as you go (makes it easier for customers to see what they want). There's a few tables outside to enjoy the food. It's mainly a Take Out place. Best Poke I have ever had on the mainland! Got the Pacific Beach bowl. So freaking delicious. Also got the salmon bowl and this place can really cook it up. Cute interior and awesome service! This place is so so delicious I love how it is not like regular Hawaiian poke and we can add a lot of toppings. service is great and the workers are fast asf! Order of 3 egg rolls were hot and had a perfect crunch to them. Poke Chop is one of the best Poke Shops we've patronized. Give it try if you're in the Pacific Beach area.

Awesome vibes and great poke! I hold poke in San Diego close to my heart, but that comes with high standards. I've been here a few times and the workers are always so warm and provide excellent recommendations. It's a small establishment, but spacious enough to accommodate a line of hungry customers for convenient take out. They have more fresh fish choices than most of the poke places around and a great variety of complimentary toppings and sauces to go with them. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of these bowls and well worth the trip.

Excellent poke that absolutely hit the spot. I got the Pacific Beach signature, and wife got a 5 scoop custom bowl. There is little rice and a whole lot of crave-able, fresh fish. The variety of proteins and toppings is outstanding. I would have to say my wife's custom bowl was more spectacular because of her tasty choices, especially salmon and scallops. Service was quick and courteous. Price is somewhat high ($50+), but I'm satisfied given the amount of seafood.

The servers were sort of blunt but still kind. The food itself was good and hard to mess up. Inside it's very quick and go, and a small area but good food.

Came here on a Saturday around 4 pm. There was free street parking around the blocks. A few people were in front of us ordering and then a few people came behind us. Inside has no seating and is pretty small and dim. The outside patio has 3-4 tables for small groups to sit at. Ordering was super easy. We all got medium bowls with white rice which comes with 3 scoops of protein. I got 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of seared tuna. I got all 4 veggie sides with extra corn and I got the spicy mayo and jalapeño wasabi sauces. They had a good selection of toppings as well. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious!! We were al very impressed with the size and quality of the bowls. We all were able to finish but just barely. I would definitely come again, some of the best poke bowls I've had!

This place hits every time! I've been serval times and every time I'm so happy with my meal. I love that it's kind of subway style where you tell them what all you want on your bowl and it's very easy and custom. The fish tastes fresh and all their sauces are delish! You get a good amount of food and it's a good price for poké. The fish was fresh and had good flavor. There were also lots of options for sauces and toppings. I will say my cucumber was bitter but I wonder if it's always that way or it was just the cucumber I got that day. The server was kind and helpful. It was my first time going so I had a couple questions and he was really helpful. The outdoor seating is fun because you get to people watch everyone in PB walking by. They also had indoor seating but I chose to sit outside because the weather was nice. read more

Such a great poke shop!! We love coming here. We have always had a good experience. The food tastes fresh and flavorful. I love the variety of ingredients and toppings. You can really customize it to your liking. The staff is good at providing recommendations as well. If you are not sure where to start they have recommended bowls on their menu. I have never eaten at the facility but they have a small outdoor seating area. We love it for a grab and go. The portions are also generous so you can have leftovers. read more

Stopped by in SD for a day trip! I was a little scared because the price was a bit high for me, but the food was amazing! I got the poke bowl and the fish was extremely fresh. Lots of variety for sauces and toppings. Would definitely recommend. Service was quick and it's very clean. read more

Honestly have been going here roughly once a week for 3 years and have just been really disappointed to see how the service has declined. The staff has become rude and dismissive. If they make a mistake they'll throw out a clipped "sorry" then continue on without offering to resolve the problem. I used to love going in and seeing the poke people but the staff now make us feel like a chore. The food is still good but this has made us start to explore new spots. I hate to leave a review but I miss having a pleasant experience and am sad to no longer enjoy going to my favorite poke place. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The front staff were extremely unfriendly. Raising their voice at customers & being very rude forcing customers out the door. Their attitude was so upsetting & after being treated like garbage they even got my order wrong by giving me a small when I asked for a large. Vivian and Jilena were awesome. Im still kinda new to poke and sometimes all the options can seem a bit overwhelming but they were very patient and helpful, explaining and answering my questions. My bowl was delicious. Inside is clean and open. I don't believe there is inside seating but there is some outdoor tables and chairs. It was a lovely day so I enjoyed my bowl here. Fresh fish, and customizeable bowls with lots of great options, friendly service. One of the best poke places in town. There's a few tables and chairs on the patio outside. Built my own bowl with salmon, spicy tuna, brown rice, salad, edamame, cucumber salad, ponzu and spicy mayo sauce, crispy garlic and nori on top. Pick a protein, base, extras, sauces and toppings and enjoy your poke bowl! read more

Straight GAS. I was a little nervous seeing the price but honestly the quality makes up for it. I ordered a bowl and I didn't really know what I wanted, thankfully i'm not a picky either nor do I have allergies. I asked the girl to go ahead and pick out a bowl for me. The lady was amazing she double checked with me about the allergies and also the added extra fees for add ons. It was DELICIOUS. Definitely coming back here. read more

This is our go to pick up spot and they always hook up huge portions! I take one star off for just not having as many toppings as other places and because any time we do DoorDash they absolutely botch our order. We still do it, but just don't expect that it will ever be correct. read more

we loved it for so ling, but then the prices went up (a lot) and the time I went a few weeks ago they'd forgotten to add the sauce(s) so when I got home it was pretty dry...I tried again this week with a friend from out of town---and we took it home. The gal who prepared it seemed incapable of smiling or making contact, and there were two long dark hairs in my bowl. Not sure I'll go back. It's just not inviting- chairs all stacked up, no smiles...meh. read more

Do not walk but run to Poke Chop! If you have e not tried this place you are missing out on the best poke I have had in San Diego. The staff was super friendly and helped me make my add in selections based on what was the most popular. If you are in the mood to walk around PB and get a fresh bite please stop and try this place. The staff seemed to have tunnel vision, only focusing on what was directly in front of them while ignoring everyone else. After standing there for quite a while, I finally had to ask about my order. Instead of it being ready like it should have been, they hadn't even started making it. I ended up waiting over 30 minutes in line for something that was ordered hours earlier. What made it worse was when the mistake became obvious, no one apologized or acknowledged the inconvenience. The staff acted like it was no big deal and showed zero professionalism or accountability. I don't come into the city often, but when I do I like to try new places. Sadly, this experience was disappointing and the customer service was extremely poor. I would honestly say save your time and money and go somewhere that actually values their customers--especially in this economy. Time is money, and money is time. If a restaurant doesn't respect your time, they're definitely not going to respect your money. As for the food, it was very basic and lacked flavor. They were also very stingy with the sauce, which made the bowl even more dry and underwhelming. Overall, between the poor service, long wait despite ordering hours ahead, lack of accountability from staff, and mediocre food, this place was a big disappointment. I will not be coming back. The general manager Amber made planning easy - there were no deposits or minimums, I was able to order platters in advance, and she was great with communication. When I mentioned that the group loved Rumplemintz shots, Amber even set some aside after ordering extra bottles (and had it cold and ready when we came in). I was able to meet and thank Amber after we first came in, and she was so warm and welcoming and even gave us a few Rumplemintz shots on the house to kick things off (thank you again, Amber!). The reviews don't lie in terms of how good the food here is. When we arrived a little early, they had our platters ready almost immediately and kept them well-heated. We had platters of the sticky garlic wings and a mix of the garlic and regular fries, and ordered pretzels and queso and the elote dip à la carte for the tables. Everything was amazing and the sticky garlic wings and garlic fries were such a hit that we ordered a few extra plates of them as well (even though the platters were perfect for our group size). EVERYONE raved about them. We had a small amount left to bring home that were enjoyed the next evening and were still amazing after being reheated. A few people in our party got additional food items as well (burgers) and they were hits as well. The drinks were also phenomenal, with a special shoutout for the espresso martini and the Purple Haze mocktail (that a few folks liked so much they got an alcoholic version). We had a person in our group who can't drink and it was nice to see how inclusive they are with having a few signature mocktail options. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for the platters (they were perfectly sized, and we only ordered a little extra because the food was so good and we'd wanted to take some home). Highly recommend getting platters with a larger group here - you can pre-order and they keep everything well-heated for you the whole time. Most importantly, this place is a vibe and every single staff member we interacted with was SO KIND and accommodating. The service was top-notch and I wish I had everyone's names to thank them individually (thanks to everyone working Saturday, 8/1 evening!). When he's done setting their table and seating them, he comes back to the front, points to the table we requested, and shoves two menus and two plates into my hands and walks away, having me set the table myself? It was very strange, because I recognized this server, and he's usually very pleasant. Other than this incident, the food is very good, but it does come out at really random times. I can only assume their kitchen is understaffed, because it does take a while to get your meal. I did enjoy eating here, but after my most recent experience, neither of us have any interest in going back.

They offer $7 draft beers, $9 wine, $10 mimosas, plus a handful of bites for $9. We started with the Fried Calamari Tentacles from the US Hour menu. They're served with Japanese mayo, although it tasted like there was some citrus mixed in because it had a nice tangy kick. Whatever it was, it worked really well with the crispy calamari. To drink, I ordered the Yuzu Matcha Mimosa. It had a really vibrant green color that almost reminded me of green juice. I actually enjoyed it. The matcha flavor came through without getting lost. My friend wasn't the biggest fan because they thought it leaned a little too bitter, so I think this one depends on how much you already enjoy matcha. For my entree, I ordered the Duck and Waffles ($24), which comes with crispy duck confit, a waffle, passionfruit guava sauce, and chili crunch. This was easily the highlight of the meal. The duck was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just enough to let the meat shine. I also appreciated that the chili crunch actually had some heat instead of just being there for texture. The waffle was light and fluffy. I'm a sucker for sweet and savory combinations, so the powdered sugar paired with the rich duck was enough to win me over. The passionfruit guava sauce was the only part I wasn't completely sold on. It wasn't bad by any means. I just think it's one of those flavors that comes down to personal preference. Waters kept full which was handy as it was a bit hot and my car was a good walk away. Would like to visit again and try other menu items.

Recently I have tried the garlic pepperaoli sauce with a lava lime shoyu and it is now my new favorite. A lot of people are afraid to try the garlic sauce due to it being a creamy sauce but trust me it's delicious.
