The difficulties with are in my previous reviews. Now much of the facility has been torn down and the ongoing construction of the space to be city staff offices and the bigger space to be affordable housing had become impractical to use or eat at the restaurant. The noise was deafening. In January they moved to a food court on the Hill. This is a lower level of a building with other tenants. There are about 6 food kitchens and each time I have been here this summer and fall, this is the busiest at lunch. Since the seating is communal there is always space and it is clean. The staff here have been really nice. If I'm preparing a meal at home or supplementing leftovers, I have stopped by to get a fave vegetable, baby bok choy, steamed and seasoned and at an affordable side dish price. Today my husband and I walked down for lunch and ordered the Tuesday special street crepes some of the owners have continued from the long gone first owners from Beijing. As with other succeeding owners, they too have continued to use lettuce rather than the bok choy in the crepe. It also has some ham, scallions and crispy wonton bits and a nice spread of hoisin. It is topped with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds that I love. Another difference from the original is that the ingredients of the crepe itself are not well mixed together so many large patches of separate egg white and yolk makes it harder to hold together and not as pretty. But it tastes just fine but original years ago was addicting. I will continue to come here try more of the food from the current owner. I love beef noodles and have 2 other places I can get a good version but this is the most walkable for me. They do very nice prep for takeout which is good too. At lunch it is busy with CU affiliated students, staff and faculty alike. Every item I have had at Flower Pepper is hand made and prepared for the customer.

What made this particularly frustrating was seeing staff sitting and taking a break while the dining area remained in this condition and customers were clearing tables themselves. The food itself was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the condition of the dining area and lack of attention to cleanliness overshadowed the meal. I understand restaurants can get busy or be short staffed, but this was unacceptable.

My husband wanted a selection of Bao so chose the roasted duck, the pork belly and the Dragonfly. He really liked them all. I love duck Bao so I had one too. Because it was chilly out I got the smoked brisket Pho too and had to bring some home since it was a lot to eat on top of the Bao. I lived the fresh basil leaves and the crunchy crisp bean sprouts. I opted out of the spicy peppers an onion as I find them harsh everywhere. I totally forgot to add a few other options as I live bok choy too. You can get a full menu of options online to order at your table by phone but we prefer and they offer a full sized menu at the counter. Note, that a nominal tip is included which is thoughtful and fair to customers and workers alike. They share duties but noted the owner who makes the noodles in the adjacent space was leaving as we were eating. You can see some of the equipment through the glass partition. They were out of oolong tea and I was hoping for some on a chilly day so I hope it is there next time as a long winter ahead of us. My husband had the iced Thai tea with his Bao. That tea is too sweet for me with condensed milk in it. We will definitely be back later. If I have pho again or my husband has it with rare steak as he plans , I hope the broth will be hotter to cook it some. If we could rate with half stars I'd go 4.5 though it was not quite perfect enough for a 5. But we will be back and pretty soon.

I actually love this place. It looks like a dive, but the food that you get is really good. It is family run and the little lady that runs the front desk is so nice. Their lunch deal is really good. I am a big fan of their low mein and the firecracker chicken is so good. They have a bowl of "secret hot sauce" by the register and is delicious. I like throwing it on my rice and in my soup. My roommate got a baby chicken in his order. Sure, maybe it counts as chicken by 1 star standards, but I'd rather not eat a breaded chicken head and spine with bones and all. No reason to eat here. Go to Tsing Tao, Panda Express, anywhere but here. Its inexpensive food for the portions, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Haoway exemplifies that saying in an exceptional way. Then again, weed is legal in Colorado so if you're so high to the point you don't know what you're eating, go for it! read more
