I was craving cupcakes and my go to bakery is closed today, so I decided to get some here since I had been here before and I remembered it was good. I'm not sure if something has changed since like two years ago but the red velvet cupcakes I had were just bad. The cake was of a lighter color than I usually have seen it, which means they don't use cocoa at all and it's pretty much just a vanilla cupcake with buttermilk and food coloring. That been said, it tasted just as any premix you can get at the store...but this one is obviously pricier. The consistency of the cake was also not as fluffy as I was expecting, and to top it off, the cream cheese? Icing....that tasted like a combination of tons of sugar and once upon a time there was cream cheese here, tbh pretty close to what I tasted at Vons??? Also, I bit into the cupcake and the whole frosting lifted up from the cupcake...how long has that been sitting there??? What a disappointment, I don't think I'm coming back here. read more

I absolutely love this bakery!!! I used to go to the over in downtown Fullerton but this location is in my neighborhood. The store is cute and cozy. There's no parking in the front. You have to park in the back of the store, which is like a vintage house. When it first opened, I tried to buy half dozen variety of cupcakes but the staff gave it to me for free!!! I think they saw me wearing my school id badge. It's so nice to be appreciated for being a teacher. I think I've been to this location 3 times. I bought half dozen variety cupcakes and I brought it over to my friend's house. They loved it so much!!! Too bad they live far (Alhambra) I told them next time I go over, I'll bring these cupcakes again! I've tried the alcohol infused ones too and it was delicious! Can't even taste the alcohol. IM AM OBSESSED WITH HAPA CUPCAKES! I thought I wasn't a cupcake person.... hapa has changed my world. Their frosting is by far the best!! Every cupcake is made with precision and care. I have been a customer of Hapa for years. I used to go to the original location. This one is easier to get to so I started coming here. I feel like this location never has that many options. The Fullerton location seems to have 4 or 5 more flavors than this one. I have always had good customer service at either location. But I have noticed the cupcakes are getting smaller and prices are staying the same. I came in early December to get my daughter circus animal cupcakes and when we went to eat them for her birthday all of us noticed how small they were. My husband was pissed I spent the time and money to go get them from there and they looked like that. They also don't taste the same. They tasted dry and old. No flavor just sugar. Sad to see them go downhill. Maybe they should stop focusing on Instagram and focus on their kitchen. read more

The taste and freshness seem to have changed , quality of flavor is lacking only to be replaced with an over kill of sugar but not in a good way ,, bummer. Went in to price cakes , no one to help and these cakes are not cheap . Need more training with the staff so they ar least can answer question If they are behind the counter . I have lived in Yorba Linda for the last 3 and a half years. I used to live in Newport Beach where I'd get my treats from Susie Cakes. It took me a while to find a bakerythat I loved but I finally found one... Hapa in Fullerton. Maybe once a week my husband or I would make the 15 or 20 minute drive to Fullerton (depending on traffic) for our treats. I discovered I especially love their cookies... mmmmm. Then Driving down Imperial one day we discovered a Hapa going in in Brea... same great tasting cupcakes and cookies... BUT they close 3 hours earlier! Why??? Who closes at 6. It is literally impossible for me to get to you by 6:00... why can the Fullerton location stay open until 9:00 p.m but the Brea location has to close before I even eat dinner.... please please PLEASE stay open later... 6:00 is way too early for a dessert place to close, even Susie Cakes stays open until 7:00. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Hapa in Brea today. I was hoping to order a cake for my baby's first birthday and didn't have a clear sense of what I wanted and so I asked for options and advice. But the reaction I got was awful - very cold and judgmental! Whenever I asked a question about price or options, the response was cold and quick: "it depends." There was no effort to assist. I felt like I was being judged for not knowing exactly what I wanted. Too bad for Hapa because I was ready to spend money there for a really nice cake and other treats. MISLEADING and POOR Customer Service are just a few words that describe Hapa Cupcakes. Basically, inquired about a birthday cake for my sons birthday. Was quoted by a "cake price specialist" aka Justin, one price. Went to the Fullerton location because the Brea location was closed on Sundays, was quoted $20 more (same cake). Went back to Brea location and submitted cake order for the original quoted price. Hapa worker recognized and remembered my order. Received a call 2 days later to let me know that the cake would actually cost $90! That is $45 more than originally quoted. How does this make any sense you ask? It doesn't! I was mislead and told various prices from the same business for the same cake! Did Hapa honor their original quote (mistake or not) NO! And on top of admitting their mistake, they handled the entire situation poorly, and disrespectfully, not taking responsibility, and didn't care that I could place a bad Yelp review from this entire experience. They said and I quote, "I can't give it to you for the original quote because that wouldn't be fair for others and I would get in trouble." Bottom line, Hapa Cupcakes lack consistent pricing, lack knowledge of basic customer service, lack respect to their customers, lack management, and lack understanding how to run a business. I seriously question the owner of this business. Poor management leads to poor results. I would not recommend wasting your time (like I did) and inquiring about any of their products. Went and picked up some cupcakes today. Out of the 14 cups cakes I purchased only about 4 tasted good. Two vegan ones were great and the two strawberry cheesecake ones were amazing. The rest of the bunch were either dry, not too flavorful, or the frosting had 0 taste. I made an order for Valentine's Day. The ordering process was very easy over the phone. I was running late on Valentine's Day and had ordered to the new Brea location. Gill, who picked up the phone, said that he will transport my order to the Fullerton location if I could not make it to Brea. Not only did he transport my order but I was also in a situation where I ran late to the Fullerton store. Gill was very accommodating again and said that he would bring it to the door for me. This location is SO cute, the staff is kind and attentive, and they always have what I want in stock. I have so much to say. I found this cute Bakery by accident. I was having a chocolate craving and sure enough Yelp didn't let me down. It gave me Hapa as the top option in the northeast Fullerton area. It is such a cute and clean establishment. I definitely found plenty of Chocolate Cupcake options to satisfy even the most demanding of customers. I ordered the Chocolate Caramel Whiskey Infused Cupcake, Chocolate on Chocolate Cupcake and the Samoa GirlScout Cookie Cupcake. I was NOT disappointed. I will not be craving chocolate for awhile. My favorite has to be the Samoa Cupcake; it's what you'd expect the cookie to taste in cupcake form. Too bad it's only on sale for a limited time.
