I don't know how to start. I've been getting their cupcakes for a while in Fullerton. The girls are really quick at reaching out after you input an order online. I told them what I wanted and sent them a reference photo and a color scheme. We were FLOORED! My guests were in LOVE. I had a bridgerton themed birthday and that cake was PERFECT! When you usually bake your own cakes, it's really difficult to turn that over to someone else to do! There's a huge spectrum of bakery cake styles - too sweet, too dry, over the top frosting, awful frosting - I think you get my point. And when you used to fresh baked cakes, the quality bar is set pretty highm So when I was coordinating an engagement party for my son and his fiance, I had to decide on a few things that I needed to let go of and let someone else do. My son's fiance had been following Hapa Cupcakes on IG and so she told me about how great their cakes looked and the great reviews they were getting. At first it was tough for me to hand over the cake to someone else - especially a bakery I wasn't familiar with, but they had very favorable comments on Yelp so I went with it. We ordered a Vanilla Raspberry and had them decorate with flowers that we brought in. First of all - WOW! The cake was gorgeous! Then once we served it, the compliments started rolling in! I was so pleased to know that I actually found a bakery that could live up the the great taste & quality that we are used to! Hapa Cupcakes is now the ONLY bakery I will trust to bake a cake for our events if I'm not able to do it. Of course, there's no question of who we will be having so my son & his fiance's wedding cake so we did the cake testing which was a lot of fun - and delicious too! The girls that helped us were so sweet - and Tatiana was awesome! She helped us decide the amount of cake to order and all we needed to do was to make our final flavor choices. I liked their cupcakes! Were they tasty? Yes, definitely! Were they the best I've ever had? Probably not. I had the pleasure of trying their Kahlua Espresso and Strawberry Cheesecake. I thought the cupcakes tasted like they should. All the flavors came through. My cupcakes were a teensy bit dry and overall just tasted like a good, normal cupcake. The frosting also had a bit of an oil slick to it and I wonder if it split a little. Overall, I'd love to come back here and try more things out! Vanilla green tea: the flavor of the month cupcake was really tasty! There is a hint of matcha in the frosting and it's not overbearing. A must try if they have it. I've always heard great things but had never tried them for myself. I wanted to grab a few treats for a birthday, they had a large selection of cupcakes and smaller treats on display. From the refrigerators located near the bakery I could see they had a ton of orders that were to be picked up, so I knew they must be good! I selected 4 cupcakes and received three free mini pies (I'm not sure if this is something they do regularly or if they were getting rid of excess thanksgiving treats as I came in on Black Friday). I submitted a custom cake request to price. I sent it in over the weekend so I expected a delay in response which is understandable but I never got a response, I had to call them to figure out what the heck was going on with my request. Not only did they not have the information after 3 days of waiting but when they finally got back to me they couldn't do anything I was requesting, they said they "can't do split cakes" with fondant and for a small cake 15-20ppl it would be around $180 so on the spot I said what if I bring in small toys to decorate the cake and you do a split cake with red on one side and black on the other using buttercream with a spider man symbol and a Batman symbol idc if it's plastic/sugar/fondant/ wafer but again they said they can't do a split cake (spiderman vs Batman party). They said they could do water color I asked if water color could be red on one side and blue on the other (bc they can't do black) and again nope! It would be mixed red and blue. Needless to say I didn't order here and based on their operations I don't recommend you order here either. Walkin ready cupcakes I'm sure might be good, they have decent reviews but if you want anything custom I don't recommend you order here unless you want something they've done before. What a great find. I had heard of this place from other Yelpers but never been here. While having 4 tires installed right next door, my eyes did not miss their sign. I told the Mister See Ya and left him on the bench and rushed over here. Located on Imperial Highway in Brea next door to the Fishing Tackle shop and So Cal Tire. Such a cute shop with a huge assortment of cupcakes and cookies in the late afternoon. I picked the Chocolate infused Whiskey, Kahlua, Lemon and Vanilla Birthday cake with fudge frosting. They packaged them nicely in a box and I was on my way. Service was very friendly. The young man working explained all the flavors to me when I told him I had never been here. We used Hapa Cupcakes & Bakery for our wedding cake and cupcakes. Communication with them to obtain the certificate of insurance was a bit of a struggle as they were non-responsive but we were able to obtain. Wedding cake and cupcakes were delivered on top but the cake toppers were installed incorrectly (2 Pokémon characters facing away from each other instead of looking at each other). This was a little frustrating as an employee had taken a picture of how the placement of the toppers were supposed to be. Our wedding coordinators had to fix the placement of the toppers. I was looking for a bakery that made gluten-free cupcakes to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and Hapa Cupcakes happened to be closest option to home that had exactly what I was looking for. Called Hapa earlier in the week to make sure that they were able to do gluten-free cupcakes as I figured this would be a special request that would require a few days to take care of. Sure enough, Hapa told me that it would take a few days for them to confirm with their outside vendor to get the cupcakes. But they promised me that it would be ready for pickup three days later, so that's all that mattered to me. Very happy with staff communication on my order. The cupcakes themselves? Super duper yummy! I ordered a red velvet, chocolate with vanilla frosting, and cinnamon with a donut on top. If you had told me these were gluten-free cupcakes, I would never have guessed. That's how good these are! I did have a separate strawberry cheesecake that wasn't gluten-free, and yeah it was pretty damn good too. Overall, very happy with my experience with Hapa.
