We stopped by not knowing this was the same spot as the one in Mesa. We ordered the cucumber dish which was amazing. The wok dishes we ordered were the fried rice and the chow fun. Something tells me they do not use an open fire burner because both dishes were lacking the smokey wok hay flavor. Definitely would not recommend ordering that. Also the cold potato wire dish was super hot so that was off putting. Service was cool though they provided a refund for the potato dish that we didn't eat. read more

So happy to see Happy Bao's in north Phoenix - and a line out the door waiting for them to open during their soft opening! Services was great - the iPad ordering makes things more efficient. We ordered beef noodle soup, signature dumplings, beef chow fun, xiao long bao and spicy sauce dumplings. All was delicious - the xiao long bao was better than I remember from the Mesa location - very thin skin and lots of soup! Only regret was starting with the spicy dumpling - mouth was numb for a bit! Ambiance was good - definitely trying to get as many tables in the space as possible, but it's a quicker eating cycle so it's okay that it's a bit crowded. Will definitely be back! read more

My friend and I have visited the Mesa location and loved it (been multiple times and know the menu well) so we were excited that this location opened up as it is closer to us. When we came in, we were not greeted and I had to go up to the front to get assistance. We were told we had to order on the QR code so we ordered our regular dishes, Dan Dan noodles, bok choy, wontons. We had actually come for the XLB which we've gotten at the other location and when I couldn't find it on the QR code, I asked and was told they didn't have it. Disappointed, but decided to try the seafood one as that was the only one they had available. Food comes out and we immediately notice the Dan Dan noodles look extremely bland, see photo. Overcooked noodles drowning in a watery "sauce". Their pork and cabbage dumplings were also extremely bland and covered in water. Seafood XLB and spicy wontons were okay but would definitely not get the seafood XLB again. Bok choy was fine. Will not go back to his location, we tried to complain about the noodles to our "server" but she didn't speak any English. read more

More than a few times, this place has been late by more than 10 minutes from the stated ready time when I order for pick up. This evening, they completely missed my online order. After checking that my order was placed for the right location., the front desk cashier didn't know why my order is missing so he went and got the lady in the back. The lady came up to me and asked "what do you want?" I was taken aback by how rude she was and told her " I'm here to pickup my food. Your guy here has all the details." The two then deliberated and argued for few minutes before telling me they have to remake my order. Didn't even bother telling me why my order was missed. I asked for a refund to which the lady insisted she can get it done in 15mins. I obliged and went shopping in the area before returning 20 minute later and STILL my order were not ready. Finally got my order, no apologies or anything. I get that a place can get busy and orders get delayed but don't be rude about it when you are addressing customers. read more

The food is ok, but the cashier screwed up this, Five of us had lunch on 02/08/2026, When I paid for the bill, I asked for the bill that list the itemized order, Maybe the cashier did not hear me, so she did not respond to me, Then on the touch screen, the system asked me to pay for the tips, yet the cashier didn't tell me I was already charged 18% tips, After I paid, I finally have the receipt and I saw gratuity of 18%, Then I went back to the cashier told her that I didn't know I was already paid for my tips so I don't wanna pay extra tips, She then explained to me when five people show up, system automatically charged the tips, So I'm filing this complaint about her hiding this when I was paying my bill, At last, I got my tips back, but I really don't appreciate her dishonesty. Sharing this hopefully whoever are reading this will learn the lesson from me, and be aware. read more
