If you're looking for good, authentic Chinese food in the area, I'd say that Happy Bee Kitchen is a good option! I came with a party of 6, and we ordered a variety of dishes that we shared family style. Overall, I'd say that all of the dishes here were solid, with the most surprising dish being the house special eggplant...I'm usually not a huge fan of eggplant but this dish was delicious! Portion sizes and prices here are fair as well and my party all left feeling full and satisfied. We came here on a weekday night and although there was a decent amount of people here, we were able to get seated right away. Service here was a bit slow at times but exceptionally friendly! The ambiance here is typical of a sit down Asian restaurant. The restaurant is located in the same plaza as 99 ranch market and there was plenty of parking.

I came here for dinner, the restaurant is not very big, but we were able to get seated right away. Everything came out in a decent amount of time except for the chicken feet. Portion size depended on the dish. The honey walnut shrimp was definitely on the smaller side while the orange chicken had a lot, but it was more like thin crispy chicken strips which I have never had this kind of orange chicken. Service was good. I might come back to try some other dishes since it is close by.

Today is Tuesday, We were pleasantly surprised how large the lunch portion were and the older gentleman that served the 7 of us was very nice to us (not like the other guy we experienced in the past). The only thing we didn't get was the dim sum item when ordered over $100, we noticed it after we exited the restaurant, otherwise it was a great tasting happy gathering lunch

All time favorite Chinese Food spot in the area and love the flavors. It's my go to spot to eat there and to order take out. It's reasonably priced and definitely try to get the lunch special to help your wallet.

Came back for a big family pickup on Easter Sunday! Ordered two Calamari appetizers, fried fish, sesame balls, chow mein, one of my favorite dishes Walnut Shrimp! This is now in my top 2 Chinese places in the LB/Cerritos area. Everything is fresh, nice portions for sharing, and the host and server were courteous. We're going to have to eat in sometime, the dining area is well kept.

Been here a bunch of times, we used to come here when it was a different name. Overall the food is pretty good. Sometimes it's a little inconsistent though, like this time. The Mongolian beef was insanely salty, almost inedible you had to eat it with rice. It's not usually that salty though so it was definitely a fluke. House Crispy noodle is always good and it was good this time. I almost wanna give them a three stars because that dish was ruined but we've had so many other good experiences here that I'll leave it at four.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I know this place exceeds expectations. I was simply looking for a place with calamari and found my next dinner spot when I want a cozy meal. The calamari was flavorful in a way that it didn't taste like squid covered in flour and fried. The calamari had a nice savory flavor to it and my tastebuds appreciated the kick. I also ordered the house special chow mein. Again, not sure what I was expecting, but this dish was something different. There was a generous serving of each protein and the soy sauce was not overdone. I had to stop and remind myself I wanted to save some for my work lunch. Side note- these entrees definitely reheat well. I would say the only drawback was that I had ordered for pick-up and the food came out a little later than the expected pick-up time. You can't rush a good meal.

Happy Bee Kitchen has become one of our go to places mainly because of the service. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and quick to help. They check in without hovering, and orders come out on time. It feels a lot more attentive than what we are used to at other Chinese restaurants, which makes each visit easy for our family. We usually order the French style beef with mushrooms, honey walnut shrimp, and the salt and pepper pork chop. The food is good and consistent, but the service is what keeps us coming back. Overall, it is a comfortable place with reliable food and great service. A solid spot for a family meal.

We have ordered takeout a coup of times and finally had a chance to eat here. The food is pretty good, price is reasonable, and the cozy store is comfortable. With 4 dishes for the 3 of us, we liked pretty much everything we ordered and we had plenty to take home! The French style beef fillet, the meat was very tender, it was tasty and goes well with rice. When we ordered over of the vegetables, the server recommended something else more fresh, we appreciated that. We ended up ordering the Stirred fried Sprouts and it was excellent. We also ordered the Seafood with bean curds in clay pot, it was delicious with many kinds of seafood, the only thing is the clay pot was smaller other dishes. The only one that would probably not order again was House Special Squid. The dish was tasty with generous portions, the squids were fried and have the House sauce on top, generally, we prefer either non-fried, or fried without sauce on top as sauces makes the fried stuff less crunchy. Overall, it was a tasty dish but just not how we preferred. I think this may become one of our go to places!

I've been going to Happy Bee for many years and have always enjoyed my meals. The food is delicious and comforting. The staff is also very friendly and it's a nice family owned restaurant. It is very clean. My favorites are the house special crispy noodles, green beans, and the fried lobster. They have a great lunch special during the weekdays, which also includes a lunch special lobster deal.

One of my go-to restaurants when it comes to Chinese food. I love their pan fried crispy noodles which I crave often and ordered to-go through DoorDash. Other favorites are honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken, house special fish fillet, and french style beef fillet. The beef dish has so much flavor, and comes with tons of onions and mushrooms. Their orange chicken isn't in big chunks like other places, rather they're thinner and softer but still crispy. When I crave fish, I get their house special fish fillet which also has a nice crisp and saltiness. Service has always been friendly, and they even pack your leftovers themselves. They have lunch specials as well, so recommend coming by for lunch. Plenty of parking in a shared plaza.

I was just super hungry getting off of work. Didn't even search for food on yelp deeply yet but Happy Bee Kitchen just happened to pop up. So I clicked on it and really like the options they had. I didn't really read the reviews besides looked at the menu. I ordered four dishes for myself. It was a lot of food for just one person. I ordered the Hainan chicken, crab meat with fish maw soup, dry style beef chow fun, and spicy eggplant in hot garlic sauce for take out. As I was driving home with all the food I was hoping that it would be good since I did not get a chance to read the reviews. Surprisingly all the dishes were delicious and savory. I would definitely go back and the restaurant was super clean with an A grade posted on the window. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back for more take out :) read more

We had 4pm reservation on a Saturday. Glad we did because the small interior seating filled up fast. The food was superb. Our group raved about the lobster. I liked the fried Tofu. We aren't sure why string beans are cut into small bits but that dish was tasty as well. This does allow customers to easily chew the beans. The chef is the reason for excellent food in a restaurant. However, the support staff affects the overall experience. The servers were friendly, attentive and efficient. The friendly owner stopped by to converse at the tables. Although there were many cars, parking was easy in this large shopping area. A clean 99 Ranch Market is walking distance. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. read more

Terrible experience at this restaurant!! Nothing "Happy" about my experience with Happy Bee Kitchen. Placed an order through DoorDash (pick-up) around 4:55pm yesterday and received a text saying the food would be ready for pick-up ~5:45pm. No problem. Received another text ~5:30pm, this time saying that, based on the original estimate, my order should already be ready. Since it would take me 15-20 min. to get there, I left and arrived ~5:50pm. I had to wait about 10min. till someone was available. Let a staff know I was there for my pick-up and showed him the texts I received. He was looking around for my order but could not find it anywhere. He checked his DoorDash orders a couple of more times, and finally spotted my order. What do you know? They totally missed my order so my order wasn't ready!! Nothing, nada!! I had to wait another 20+ min to get my order. At this point, I was really ticked off! Any discount or compensation as a gesture of apologies would have gone a long way, but NOOOOOOO!!! The food was meh at best, but one dish in particular was awful!! Beef with scallion dish was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! As soon as we opened the container, there was rotten smell, kind of like old, spoiled dirty rag smell but much stronger coming from the dish! It was SOOOO bad that we had to throw the whole dish away. Unbelievable!! Needless to say, we will NEVER come back to this place. read more

What a delicious feast we had at Happy Bee's recently for lunch. The dishes were of generous portions , the friendly servers were so helpful and service was great! I particularly loved the deep-fried Lobster with Spicy Salt and the French style Beef fillet- truly amazing! But really there wasn't a single dish I could'nt rave about. This restaurant is a must-go for anyone who loves the best of Chinese cuisine.. Five stars plus plus! read more

This was our first time eating here and everything we ordered was delicious! We had the honey walnut shrimp, salt & pepper pork chop, orange chicken, house special stir fried noodle, Yang Chow style fried rice. Our favorites were the honey walnut shrimp and pork chop! Super ordinary place. A bit too clean and quite. Hainan chicken is a must and the better version of it all. Crab meat soup n stir fried green beans won't let you down. Price is more than fair. Short menu is a ingredient of success probably. Enough said. Try it for small family eat out. Tell them Ben send you. They will expect a generous tip from you. read more

Good food, nice and friendly people, cleaned place eat. Price is good for the amount of food that you will get. Not enough parking but it's ok. A lot of people waiting on line to eat. They will start you with a fried peanut and ice water. Salt and pepper pork chops is ok. Sea food fried rice is ok. And the honey walnut shrimp is so good, my son like it so much. The only thing that they forgot to give us is the desert. Four start because of that. read more

This place just opened so we decided to try it. The food was very good and the staff was very friendly. My wife wanted the green beans and eggplant dish but she also wanted to add chicken to it and they were able to accommodate her request. I took my parents here for dinner on a weekday night. And we all loved it! The food reminded us of how Seafood Cove (we call it Red Door, iykyk) use to be and we were so happy that Happy Bee is close to home! We ordered the fish maw soup, basil clams, house special fish fillet, and stir fry string beans. We demolished it all! The clams were amazing as it tasted very fresh and clean. My family and I were craving for Chinese food but being Chinese, we were looking for something authentic. We found Happy Bee on Yelp and we were not disappointed. The servers were all so kind, the food was so good! We had the seafood hot pot, Hainan chicken, Crab maw soup and beef filet, loved them all. Good Chinese food and excellent service! We were greeted and seated right when we walked in. The server gave us some complimentary peanuts as we were browsing through the menu. We ordered deep fried squid with spicy salt, honey walnut shrimp, and large intestines with black bean sauce. They were all delicious and flavorful. I don't like to write negative reviews because I know small mom & pop shops work so hard to provide quality dishes & services as they compete with other restaurants. I have eaten at this restaurant many times & had no issues however this afternoon my friend was giving the waitresses constructive criticism about their Hanan chicken as they were talking in Chinese among themselves. We were still waiting for additional dishes to be delivered to our table. So I'm speculating the waitresses discreetly & quickly informed the cook & the cook must have put a whole bunch of laxatives in our dishes as a retaliation. Because I have been having non stop diarrhea today (10-20x's) ever since we came back home. My friend is also coincidentally has been having diarrhea as well, what are the odds of that happening? I didn't have diarrhea before going there & I felt fine all day today. I will never ever go back there again. I'm so angry at my friend for opening his damn mouth & at the cook right now. I'm still sitting on the toilet as I am writing this negative review. read more

I've been here many times for lunch and dinner take outs The food is always very good I live in OC but work close by. The food at Happy Bee is tasteful and the quality is consistently good. The staff here is so nice and friendly! My boyfriend and I ordered the beef stew and XO fried rice. While waiting, the staff was super friendly and chatted with us. The food came out after 10-15mins of our tea. Btw their chrysanthemum tea is so good!!!! They give you a little pot of honey to adjust to your liking. Food was delicious as well! Pretty bad service; we ordered togo though doordash, they missed our order but still submitted "ready for pickup", and when we arrived they didn't admit they forgot our order, but asked us to wait another 20 minutes for them to complete the order. In the end we waited for another 40 minutes because even they missed our order and made us wait there, our order was still not the priority, they still served other's dishes first but those customers came later than us. read more

My husband and I found this gem during our lunch date. Food is so delicious and service is amazing! Love the friendly staff and owner! We had our Father's Day and my in-law Annivesary gathering there afterwards. Wanted to share a positive experience with restaurant especially after encountering a horrible glitch in my app food order with Yelp-Grubhub-Happy Bee kitchen SO when I went to restaurant, my food wasn't ready at all. Why? because Happy Bee did not receive order from Yelp/working with Grubhub, even after i paid app but here is what made the difference. The staff, even being so busy, did their best to remain calm, professional, patient with me, helping with solutions. In the end, after a few frustrating moments and phoning YELP & Grubhub, the restaurant received the order & promptly made the food order, and was generous to give me a small complimentary rice for the inconvenience they did not cause. So, very special thank you to TONY for his professionalism at Happy Bee and I must also add that the FOOD was so deliciously prepared and I intend to return with my family. This place is a hidden gem in Cerritos areas. The place is the cleanest Chinese restaurant I've ever visited. The servers are very very kind (even though that lady was not fluent with English, it didn't matter. We could feel that her warm heart and kindness). Regarding the foods, I highly recommend anyone to try their Mapo Tofu. Sooooooo delicious! We ordered the green onion pancakes for appetizer which was the perfect choice!!! So, crispy and yummy. Their fried rice was addictive. Kept eating the fried rice with Mayo tofu which was great combination. Me and my girlfriend have come here already five times, but we never got disappointed. read more

Today we went to Happy Bee Kitchen. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and the portions were huge. Three of us could only eat half of what we ordered. My wife commented that her drink was too sweet, they adjusted hers right away and offered another free drink. Amazing! We have never had a good service for a long time, as long as I can remember. We will come back in a few days. I encourage everyone to go there and try at least once. If you're not satisfied, I'll pay your bill. LOL. Just kidding. The owner Grace and the entire staff were so nice and attentive and you would not regret it. read more

Really delicious and authentic Cantonese food in Artesia! I grew up in SGG eating this type of food. This place is legit and the Chef really knows what he is doing! Highly recommend this place! It's a typical Chinese restaurant, but the Yelp reviews roped us in. The food is quite good (note: order the fried chicken a day ahead, special prep needed), but the 5 star rating was because of the excellent service. Even when they're very busy, you don't feel rushed or ignored. Dishes recommended : Baked pork chop pekiing style, spicy eggplant, hainanese chicken, host special squid. This has become one of our go-to family spots because the experience is always consistent -- welcoming staff, fast service, generous portions, and dishes that actually taste freshly cooked instead of rushed. What we ordered this visit: Crispy Garlic Fried Pork -- perfectly golden, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The garlic topping took it to another level. Easily one of the standout dishes. I had such a wonderful experience at Honeybee Kitchen! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was top-notch--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The ambience is small, quaint, and cozy, perfect for a relaxed meal with great food. Speaking of food... everything we ordered was outstanding! The fried lobster was a standout--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned with pepper, salt, and garlic. The orange chicken was flavorful and just the right balance of sweet and tangy. We also had the Mongolian beef, which was incredibly tender and full of bold, savory flavor. The Yang Chow fried rice was packed with ingredients and absolutely delicious, and the house chow mein rounded out the meal with a great texture and classic taste. I think we've just found our new favorite Chinese restaurant! Craving Chinese food, we turned to Yelp for guidance and discovered this gem. It turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The food was amazing! The filet mignon French style was the star of the meal--absolutely delicious. The mixed vegetables were perfectly cooked, maintaining their crispness with just the right amount of seasoning. The noodles were also packed with flavor. I really love this place. It's got a really classy type look it's big inside. I love the high ceilings. It's very spacious. The food is excellent and it's right in an area. That's easy to get to feel comfortable atmosphere with family. Nice reasonable prices that's for sure. You gotta do is go to the restaurant and then press review. I'm pleased to find a nice restaurant like this me and my wife are always out with customers and friends and we just like the atmosphere .. Excellent food and selection! Authentic just like home my grandmas! There's typically a waitlist because they don't take reservations so plan on getting there a little early or sending someone in your group earlier. Staff is very friendly and often check up on you. Only drawback is that their desserts run out quickly, not that we needed any after the amount we scarfed up! Definitely on our list to return for another sumptuous meal! read more

The food was pretty good! I ordered the sesame chicken and it was cooked perfectly, not too dry. The rice was also fluffy and not sticky, which is a plus. I'd say it's a bit better than your average Chinese takeout place. Would recommend! read more
