We called and booked a reservation for my Father's 75th birthday celebration about 2weeks before the date. The people who set it up for us were kind professional and thorough. We special ordered the duck and they prepared it 4 ways. Peking duck with the yummy crispy skin in buns with fresh scallions, cucumbers, sauce and shrimp chips for crunch. Duck broth soup, very light and good for summer. Also duck with beans sprouts (so tender and flavorful that many in our party speculated if it was beef!) and my favorite duck on the bone with young bok choy and a little tofu. (The mild bitterness of the greens was well balanced with the rich duck.) We did make reservations for our party of 14 and ordered the duck special and lobster ahead of time. We had many other dishes too. All excellent in quality! But what made this meal truly 5 stars were all the employees. We were greeted warmly even though I mistakenly showed up early for our res. Offered drinks and chatted to by the all the nice waitresses and they remembered my Dad when he came in. They were just so kind and I will never forget how the lady ran over with a fortune cookie when my little daughter started crying when she fell down. She loved the food too btw. You should feel confident giving your business to this fine establishment. Super clean like all the other yelpers have noted noticed. Order what looks good...don't be afraid to order off the pictures of their specialities on the wall (like the French beef or Hainan chicken (with yummy fresh ginger sauce on the side and the chicken rice is a must.) For 12 ppl it was a good value especially considering we had the lobster and many other dishes. I love Happy Bee. The food is excellent and the service is very pleasant. The strip mall location means that parking is easy, but the decor and atmosphere is not for "date night" unless you are your date are both reeducation foodies. Came here for dinner. It's a new place in Cerritos that we wanted to try. We ordered lobster, chow fun, french filet, fish, onion pancakes. Basically we ordered like 10 things. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the wet beef chow fun and chinese spinach dishes. The only suggestion I will make is they need to re-arrange the tables. Great food, good service. We get take out from Hapoy Bee at least once a week. I like the garlic eggplant, the chicken chow fun and the fish with vegetables. The mapo tofu is also really good. The first time my husband and I tried this place, we were so impressed we knew we had to come back but unfortunately each subsequent time has been a disappointment and 3rd times a charm for us. Orange chicken and sauteed green beans were what impressed us yet they have never been the same since. Maybe its because we ordered take out but the chicken was so spicy the last time it was almost inedible and this time we asked for "not spicy" and it lacked flavor -both times it was not crispy and almost soggy the 3rd time. Same for green beans - went from too spicy to mediocre. Tried vermicelli this last time and although it had decent flavor it had about 3 shrimp total and was dry. Unfortunately we are on the hunt now for a new Chinese restaurant. read more

This was, unfortunately, some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. We were there on Christmas, and the place was very busy, and they were taking a lot of grubhub orders. Everybody's got to get paid, and I know they were trying, buuuuuuut...the food was still horrid. The 55 minute wait for our entrees wasn't such a dealbreaker, given the holiday, but everything came out a different times (including the entrees), and none of it was hot. My son's pork was rock hard and full of gristle. The green onion pancake was oily, and one half slid away from the other. And then there was the viscous, slimy sauce that all of the overcooked vegetables were drenched in. When my Szechuan bean curd arrived, it looked like pillows resting on a bowl of rust-colored snot. The silken tofu was barely cooked and had no structural integrity. And then, the dish that I ordered from the vegetable section of the menu contained pork. The online menu discloses the meat content, but the in-person menu does not. I sent it back. My wife's pan-fried noodles were mostly cold. Some parts were raw and hard, others were fairly pleasantly fried, and others were goey to the point of disintegrating. We didn't eat more than a few bites of anything we ordered, but our server didn't seem too bothered. We paid for everything in full. I hate how much I paid for that meal I couldn't stomach. read more

After being amazed by the service, i thought to myself, "I really hope the food matches the service." It definitely did. I ordered the broccoli beef and honey walnut shrimp. The honey walnut shrimp had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The texture was crunchy and creamy but not overdone on either end. My friend recommended this place several months ago and finally decided to try it tonight. Ordered shrimp with egg, fish filet with mixed vegetables and west lake beef soup. Everything was tasty. The eggs were light and airy. Was expecting a leafy vegetable with the fish but it came with celery, which is my least favorite vegetable. Really good food and great service here. They sometimes say you can tell how clean the kitchen is by how clean the bathroom is....it's always clean. Portions are just right and everything is always nice and fresh. Hard to find a good Chinese restaurant in Artesia or Cerritos these days since a lot of restaurants have closed up.
