It is my fav in the city. At the Old Town location I've only had the 10"? small pizza and it's made using their standard pizza crust. Which is DELISH. This time we were sharing so we opted for the larger pizza and it was made on more of a thinner style crust and now I can't decide which style I like more?!?! This is a cool place. It is right off the Main Street in wrigleyville. Has a huge bar downstairs and also has an upstairs for those warm chicago days. They have plenty of bartenders as well which made for exceptional and quick service. Definitely would go back here read more

I always think I am going to hate this place, but it always impresses me. The service is pretty good and the food is actually pretty good! We came here to watch the Bears/Packers game with a baby (so outdoors). They were incredibly accommodating to us and put us right by the TVs! I could have sworn that I heard bottomless Bloody Marys, but I ended up getting bottomless Mimosas. Not sure if I heard wrong or the server heard wrong, but I went with my "mistake". Good mimosas and the server kept my glass full which was excellent service. We got the giant nachos as well which were actually quite excellent. Maybe I have had a hankering for nachos, but they did the spot. I didn't try the pizza this time, but I know that its typically good. I went here with a couple friends toward the end of the summer and the ambience outside/ upstairs was great. I like how they make you feel like you're in Florida with the decorations and flamingos. I ordered the Pink Flamingo drink, which was tequila and pomegranate juice with a little slice of jalapeno. It came with the cutest flamingo straw! Unfortunately I did not get the best picture, but you get the idea. We shared the goat stix appetizer, which was really good. There were also people playing bags in the downstairs patio area. Down side: The drinks were a little expensive for their size ($12) as I spent $50 for 3 drinks and 1/3 of an appetizer. read more

While in the Chicago area one of my former students also happened to be in town and invited me to meet up in Wrigley area. She mentioned this place. We can during the day. Wrigley is a college vibe area and this place has that same vibe. We ordered the potato skins and some cocktails. The cocktails were good and the potato skins for the price left me wanting more. Small portions but they were tasty. I had the pink flamingo and hot girl summer cocktails and they were tasty. The server we had was super nice and accommodating. In addition to being walking distance to the ballpark you can't miss the place with the shiny sign out front. The upstairs patio area was closed when we came around but loved to see how they had covered outdoor seating and their space is a great indoor/outdoor vibe. It's a really cute vibe with a a cute design in the bathroom area as well. I didn't stop by for any food items but for the drinks we got a mix of the Space Camper IPA, Goose Island Lost Palate IPA, and Lagunitas Sumpin' Sumpin' and they were all great brews. Service was friendly and I could easily see people enjoying the space for hours especially on a game or sunny day. Still love this place and love that it's 5 mins drive from me! Chris at the front desk was accommodating and helpful even those our large group was tardy to our reservation. We were a party of 10 on a Sunday and thankfully we were able to get seated upstairs at a large table. I loved that each table had its own great spot and spacious enough to socially distance upstairs. Our server did well taking care of us but we saw he was getting busy at the end of our bill that took us a little longer to pay out. The Happy Camper is a chain, but it is also a vibe. It is a great place to come with friends or on a date. Similar restaurants often have awful food and drinks, but The Happy Camper is always respectable and I have never felt scammed. In the summer after Cubs games, it is often nice to sit outside and enjoy the fleeting sunny skies. During Christmastime, it's a cozy fun house. I highly recommend it. read more

It was my first time & not my last, but the atmosphere was so beautiful. It was filled with Christmas decor and the servers were nice! I do have a friend that works here and that's why I came. Food is average, loaded nachos was $12 & the sticks were $10, super long & thick! The nachos; we subbed it out for chicken bc my friends allergic to it. I do wish we had someone that came to check if the food was good often because we did want to change it, but didn't say too much. We had the sesame salad and calzones that were delicious. The service by our waiter Jay was perfect, He was both personable efficient and very helpful. They have a two-story roof over an outdoor seating area that made this a great place to have plenty of fresh air but not get rained on. I probably should've given it a five star rating based on all of that but it didn't fit our more mellow personal style. My first Christmas pop up experience! The decor and ambiance is very pretty, DJ played hit after hit. The table service was not that great. I understand it was a weekend (Saturday night) but expect a wait, no refills on water. There might have literally been one waitress there in a room full of 100 people. We chose Happy Camper as the first restaurant for a friends reunion during phase 4 of reopening and I am so glad we did. Not only do they have super strict COVID precautions, but they're still operating as efficiently as before. One of the gals in our friends group couldn't celebrate her April birthday so we decided to get her a round of shots. When the staff heard it was for a "birthday" they gave us the shots for free! Speaking of the staff, I was extremely surprised to see how professional, efficient and friendly they all are for a pizza place! Our waitress knew it was our first time here and she made sure to go over the menu with us and give us recommendations. We ended up going with a few appetizers and 3 different pizzas to split. The food came out quick and tasted great. The pizzas weren't too greasy, the dough was perfectly cooked with that mini soft crunch and the toppings brought it all together. There was a 2 hour limit on a table since the place is limiting customers. The staff had to remind us that our time was almost up and that's understandable. We would have loved to stay longer and keep the drinks rolling but we're living in a different time now and I guess that's the way things have to be! I have had the best experiences here lately. I especially want to shout out our experience on 7/11 - we came with a group of 10 after our Wrigley rooftop was cancelled and literally sat in Happy Camper for like 5 hours just ordering and eating and drinking. Our server - the receipt says Jacob B - was fantastic and somehow got every single thing right in our orders and brought things to us insanely fast. He was honestly a saint because our group could not have been fun to deal with, lol. As for food, it's the same menu more or less as Homeslice and Paradise Park, so you know you're getting excellent pizza when you come here. The cookie dough bites are to die for, and the cocktails are all great. The brunch cocktails are a nice little morning addition to the menu. And don't sleep on the salads!!! But this evening, I was looking to enjoy a personal pizza with a ranch boat in bed. Happy Camper has some of the best pizza in the city! It's not your typical cheese and pepperoni (while they have the classics), you're coming to/ordering Happy Camper for one of their more creative pizza options. My absolute favorite is the dime piece. Huge pieces of grilled chicken, fresh jalapenos, cream cheese, chili flakes, garlic, and cheese, I'm getting hungry just writing this review! It's absolutely delicious, and it has the perfect amount of spice to it. I also LOVE the jalapeno homies appetizer. Which is hollowed out jalapenos, filled with cream cheese, bacon, cheese, tomato, and a side of BBQ sauce. Must order! I've tried a lot of their other chicken pizzas, all of which are amazing. And if you're dining in, you cannot forget their drinks! My favorite is the Umbrella, which is vodka and a grapefruit radler. Two of those are you're feeling great. They also have a lot of fun alcohol to go options right now, none of which I've tried, but they look cool and creative. You really can't go wrong with Happy Camper!
