It broke after only three or four days due to poor assembly. When she politely returned to ask about a replacement, the owner, Lucas, spoke to her with extreme verbal abuse, profanity, and personal insults until she left in tears. When I addressed the situation calmly, he stated that he did not care that he had made a child cry and continued speaking aggressively. This is not about a refund policy. A business can choose its policy. This is about basic conduct toward a minor and a customer. We have supported this store many times, but after this experience, we will not return. Families in Mililani should know how customers, including little children, may be treated here. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable bringing my child back into this store.

Small comic/collectible shop in Mililani…read more Came here when they were hosting a Dungeon's and Dragon's event our kids were attending. Love that they partner/support community events like this. The place is small but packed with lots of interesting merch. I have zero knowledge about comics, games, anime, toys, cards, etc. but my kids' eyes lit up when they entered and my youngest couldn't leave without buying an anime plush. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Located in the Mililani Shopping Center. LOTS of parking. Support local businesses.

One thing I really appreciate is the variety of Japanese-inspired syrups you won't find at other shave ice shops. I went with flavors like Kyoho grape, yuzu and ume, which were refreshing and vibrant. They tasted much more natural than the typical artificial syrups. I added Japanese mochi as a topping, which is the perfect complement to the fluffy shave ice. The ice itself is light and fine, soaking up all the syrup without becoming icy or crunchy. Matsumoto's has an extensive list of flavors. I don't know much about the syrups they use, but I noticed that these flavors didn't really pop out as much as those from other shops. I thought that pineapple, plum, and passionfruit-orange-guava would be distinct from each other, but they kinda had the same level of syrupy sweetness. Ume was the only one that had a hint of tartness, which I appreciated, but it was overwhelmed by the generally sugary, juice-like flavors. Ice texture was like an elevated snow cone. It was slightly crunchy yet still smooth, melting and combining easily with the syrups. They give you a spoon and a straw. Service was ok. The person at the front takes your order, then you keep walking in to pay at the counter, then you keep walking down towards the end of that counter to pick up your order. Staff weren't as chipper as I thought they'd be - they were simply going through the motions, fitting for what looks like an assembly line of making shave ice. There's lots of merch inside, from snacks to shirts to tote bags. Seating is only available outdoors, but there are plenty of benches and tables in the little quad there.

My kids enjoy their Keiki Sundae with comes with whipped cream and sprinkles. Other times, they enjoy milkshakes. There is a single bench along the wall of the establishment that I make my kids sit on while they enjoy their treats. Shave ice is also available and Sunbeams has saved me trips to Haleiwa when my kids feel like having shave ice. Customer service is excellent. If we have a large order, someone will come out and bring our items out on a tray. Really great effort when they can just place our order in the window for us to take.

My favorite is the Tomoe Ame mochi, (chichi dango), you can actually taste the Tomoe Ame! It was fresh, and soft. Got my son the butter mochi which he devoured. In addition to her mochi specialty, she also makes little cakes, mochi strawberries, lemon bars, pumpkin crunch, waffle mochi. The last time I purchased dog treats, my little indoor dog Sadie managed to climb on a chair and onto the dining table, open the plain "unmarked" brown bag of dog treats (as if she could read), chew into a ziploc bag containing the remainder of an open bag of chicken gizzards! My hubby said that I have to make sure that all of the chairs are pushed against the dining table so Sadie cannot use them to climb onto the dining table. I responded that he should train HIS dog (have you ever say that? YOUR child, or YOUR grandchild?) to not go onto the table. Sadie hasn't done that before! Now, Sadie is on two legs, begging, whenever anyone approaches THE NEW brown paper bag.
