I happened to be in the area with my sister and, like always, we needed a lil something and decided on pizza (it's our weakness). My sister is a pizza connoisseur, so we've made a fun thing out of trying different spots all over New York. I found Happy Days Pizza on Yelp, and decided to give it a try . I called in a pickup order and about 20 minutes later we were grabbing it. I have to say, I've never had a plain slice like this in Westchester County. Westchester tends to lean heavy on ultra-thin crust, and this was different ,it genuinely reminded me of a Queens slice. Perfect balance, great texture, and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. Simple, classic, done right. The place itself is small, cute, and no-frills exactly how a good pizza spot should be. Keep in mind parking is not easy and it's tough to stop, but honestly... it's worth the effort. I've had so many slices from this area and find that they're all mediocre. So happy I found Happy Days. It has been one of my favorites so far in this vicinity. They were so generous with their cheese and the cheese tasted like high quality. The crust was nice but not super thin (which I'm not always in the mood for anyways, nice change for the area) old school looking pizzeria inside, clean, friendly staff. Only thing some people may not like is that it was a tad greasy but I was overcoming a stomach thingy and actually liked the grease and felt it coated my stomach nicely. read more

I stopped by this place since I was around the neighborhood. The staff and customers were very friendly and pleasant. I tried their Sicilian slice and their regular slice. Both were very good. The sauce and cheese were tasty with the right amount of crunch from the dough. Nice cozy place with a few tables if you want to eat in like I did. This is a small mom & Poppa pizza joint in Eastchester. Parking Sucks if you are in an automobile. It's located in the back parking lot behind the pizzeria, AND you need to feed the meter if you visit during the day up to 7 pm. Now on to the food. I ordered a fried breaded chicken filet with lettuce tomato and mayo on a wedge. It was freajin delicious! A few years ago, after I picked up my kid from dance class, we wanted a quick bite before heading home. We each got a slice and chicken salad to go. I am extremely disgusted by the service and quality of my pie. I ordered a large pie with half pepperoni and a little extra cheese, when the pizza got to my house the cheese looked like a pool of cheese. The pie was barely cut and practically has no taste. The cheese didn't even stay on the pizza when i ended up cutting it myself. Oh, and did i mention that this lackluster pizza cost me $23. Hate posting bad reviews, but I used to love this place when I worked at Lord & Taylor about 15+ years ago, but I'm guessing ownership or staff has changed since. Went in with my son and it was quiet, not busy - ordered slices. The first slice he gave me was burnt, the guy making the pizza was distracted doing something else (not other customers, as it was empty), but he clearly forgot about my slice until I asked for it again. I had to ask for a replacement slice since I couldn't give that to my son. He proceeds to put the next slice in the oven for literally 5-10 seconds, so it was basically cold when I got it. I decided to just take my losses on this one and give it to my son cold. Thankfully he was OK with that and ate it anyways. The pizza itself did not taste good, a disappointing visit given what was once a great pizzeria. It's possible it was just an off-night, but won't be going back to find out. Pro tip - they do have a parking lot around back, and you can walk the alley to get to the pizzeria, since street parking sucks here. read more

While visiting family back home, I put a special to-do list together. One of the top items on that list was to pop by Happy Days, the pizzeria of my youth. It is with great fondness that I remember Happy Days. Over my entire life, it has been our go-to pizza parlor. Back on No Meat Fridays it was a weekly staple for the family, and I can vividly remember through high school years heading down Locust Ave. from my house, or coming from the Lord & Taylor parking lot after a day of skateboarding to grab a slice for $1.25. Well, that slice is $2.50 now, but there have been an awful lot of years in between, and Happy Days is still worth every penny. I felt an old familiar feeling, walking through the narrow alley that connects the parking lot in the back to the storefront on Post Road (It is directly across from the Mobil station for those of you who have yet to treat yourself). Walking in you will find a basic pizzeria with no unnecessary fluff. This is a true pizza place. No tablecloths, candles or tacky knickknacks. You will find the counter in front, the soda fridge on the left, and if you chance to turn around and face the exit, there is a small TV set facing in, so the people working in the kitchen can watch the soccer game that seems to be going on no matter what day or what time you visit. Of course, on the walls you will find the mandatory maps of Italy and the "We serve the superior Grande Cheese here" posters. Once your order is served upon that iconic double paper plate and wax paper combo, you can bring it to one of the tables or booths where you may find the NY Post or the Daily News waiting for you. It always seems just right that the NY Times is nowhere to be found. The slices are still being perfectly prepared, the way all NYers live it, with the crust just right for picking up and folding over (allowing some of that olive oil to channel down onto the paper plate below). The sauce is just right. And the cheese is a gooey mess of full bodied flavor that trails from chin to hand as you pull the pizza away after each bite. I would have normally rated Happy Days a 5/5, but my true rating is 4.5 due to the fact that they offer Hawaiian pizza. I cannot in good conscience support that. An authentic pizzeria offering Hawaiian is anathema to NY. At least they don't offer Chicago. I fully recommend Happy Days if you enjoy a good pizza pie. read more

I just stopped by here today on a whim while visiting the butcher a few doors down. I ordered a Sicilian pie to split with my coworkers and I was seriously blown away. I have to note that their Sicilian is a little different than other Sicilian pizzas I've had in the past. (and I've had a ton of New York pizza over the years) The edges were nearly nonexistent (typically my favorite part of a Sicilian slice) but about an 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch of crust on the bottom was so crunchy and the dough above was airy... Sorry I started drooling on myself thinking about it again. It was really delicious. I noticed that they added the cheese to the pie nearly at the end of the bake and it really did the pizza so many f(l)avors. Though this place is a solid 10 minute drive from my home, and there are plenty of great pizza places near by; I'll definitely be going back to this place. Worth checking out. read more

Growing up this was the staple pizza place for me and my friends. A place where you can find the ideal NYC style pizza for a good price. Inside is like your traditional pizzeria: order a slice at the counter, booths for sitting. No frills, just pizza and and some traditional Italian food. If your family regularly (weekly) orders a pie for delivery or pickup, they remember and usually treat you around Christmas. It should be noted some people think the pizza is too oily. Great old school 1980s style pizza joint. Stick with the basics, plain or Sicilian slice. Both are above average. Parking is tricky (meter lot behind the building). Alternatively you park in the CVS lot and walk across the street. The pizza shop is very dated, workers grumpy, no one is using gloves and the place needs some tlc. Still, if you're looking for that throwback Pizza experience, greasy white paper plates, newspapers on the tables and a large solid slice...Happy Days is worth a try. read more

So I ordered from Grubhub about a month ago and we tipped and paid through the application. When the pizza arrived he told me it was a cash tip and we checked and I gave him two dollars because I didn't have cash on me and we said it should've went through on the app. He rolled his eyes at me and than yelled at me and said "Yeah next time make sure to do it on the app" and stormed off. I grew up in Scarsdale, worked for a couple of years at Italian Village in the Golden Horseshoe as a teen, and always thought they had the best NY pizza in town....well that was at that time. Italian Village went downhill years ago after selling out, but Happy Days is the reigning king in town. A very small and simple NY pizza shop that has the best slice and pies in town without question in my opinion. I have not tried any of their other food, but the pizza is great, the staff are very friendly, and the value is fair as you get what you pay for. Great (quick) for delivery, this place offers some original pizza toppings. My favorite is the lasagna pizza, which I have had elsewhere but have not been as satisfied as with this place. BBQ pizza is also a good one. To balance things out, the salads are made fresh, the mozzarella sticks are served hot, and the delivery people are really nice.
