I had an amazing 60min massage with Ros (I believe that's how you spell her name). She really got all the knots out of my shoulders and upper back. I really appreciate the arm and leg stretching she did in between and towards the end asked me to turn over so she could massage my forehead and scalp. Best $60 spent, well worth it. I'm gonna be honest the message was good, but the environment was TERRIBLE. They didn't even have a proper place for our belongings and the owner was keep yelling at someone over the phone while the message. People were moving left and right, and the employees were keep whispering. Secondly, as I was leaving I gave the owner a tip. She went crazy, she said no it's $12 tip per person. Before the message she never mentioned that, and later said it was a "service charge" and was required. As I was leaving she followed me out because, she didn't receive my tip amount. So sad, I've been going here for years it used to be great. I came back today to new ownership which is fine! Was super excited to try! I called to make a reservation, the woman was so rude getting me off the phone asap. I thought maybe it was busy and she wanted to keep it quiet in the spa so it's fine I kinda brushed it off. I was wrong... I get to my appointment and I get to the bed and no one helped me with a thing so I ended up just shoving my belongings under the area... the massage itself wasn't absolutely horrible but wasn't worth the price (even though it's already cheap) The whole time from start to finish with maybe a few breaks , there was full on conversations going by the workers , the receptionist was on the phone taking personal calls (no wonder she wanted to get customers off the phone) not relaxing at all. Then I go to pay. I OF COURSE was going to tip the masseuse but it was so unsettling how as soon as I was done, getting my things together she was hovering over me... walked over to the counter... she followed right behind the whole time. I finally pull out the money and hand it over and she scurried off. Just strange. I look to pay for the service itself, and the receptionist is on the phone, laughing, chit chatting, and points at a new price not the 40 that was on the menu, and she basically shares that it's because I'm using a card but then points at a little handwritten note she had of the words "zelle. Venmo" I politely go to zelle her, and I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with zelle but when someone Zelle's you, it goes STRAIGHT to your account. So with that being said it's like paying cash, there's no hidden fees or anything and she still keeps pushing the higher price and keeps telling me it's because it's still a card? Just wrong, i paid more to get out of there quicker. But just HORRIBLE. Do not go! Save your $40 on something useful. read more

I called the store that I'm gonna be there at 9 pm to do 1hr feet, and I arrived at 8:54pm, the front desk lady told me she doesn't know how to massage and want me wait 6min for a female masseuse and I'm ok with that. 15 min later came two guys(1 Chinese 1 Indian or sth like that) I didn't think abt nothing. The lady only gave a 50-minute massage for a one-hour service package, AND had the audacity to ask for a 33% tip, saying that it's the "mandatory minimum". I used to love this place..but not anymore. For $40 you get a 70 min massage with hot stones, def a great price for the service you get, in comparison to similar budget massage places in the area. Which is why I was a repeated customer..But what I saw during my last visit was pretty disgusting! The guy doing my massage went out to wash his hands and didn't close the curtain all the way so the bright light from outside was shining in. I lifted my head, looked back, & saw them getting the chair across me ready for a new client. They don't change the pillow case, the sheet that you lay on, OR the blanket that they put on you after the previous client! Gross!! All the what if's started crossing my mind..what if the person before me had lice? Or what if the person before me didn't shower and all of his/her skin flakes/sweat is now all on me..Gross!! I used to really like this place. Went there today for a foot massage and have requested for a lady. She was 5 minutes late and my massage was finished the same time the lady next to me was finished (she started her massage at least 5 minutes before me). The lady wasn't very polite and was yawning a few times and I can feel her rough cut nails and hard skin running through my skin throughout the entire massage. Throughout the entire massage, I asked her to apply lighter pressure and she didn't really listen. The entire hour wasn't very enjoyable. When I went up to the cashier, I noticed the price had increased from $19.99 to $24.99/hr. for the foot massage. I tipped the lady $10 and she wasn't very thrilled and the rude part was she looked at how much I was giving her before she even looked up and said thank you. My boyfriend brought me here which was a lovely gesture. However, I didn't relax not one minute through out my full body massage. The place is small and the massage tables are right next to the door which they leave open and you hear kids and people screaming, talking, and running. The man who provided me my one hour massage was so aggressive and I had to tell him about 5 times to be more gentle. I'm sad he didn't understand me. He spoke no English so the communication was bad. He spent 25 min massaging my inner arms? He massaged my back with his forearm and not his hands. So I just felt nothing but rubbing. Back and fourth. Happy Foot is my Favorite Massage place to go to and I highly recommend! They have Great Customer Service, they're clean, relaxing ambience, and they're very reasonable in price! I've tried OTHER locations but get turned off when the employees are loud chit chatting to each other when your trying to relax, eating food and the smell lingers in the room (very rude) or require a minimum amount to give as a TIP (how Tacky) I LOVE this place- George is my masseuse and seems to knows just the right pressure to relieve the knots and tension that I came in with. The prices has changed from what previous reviews stated.. it's $40 for the 70min combo massage.. which is still reasonable compared to fancy spa places but then I'm not really comparing apples to apples because this place is not individualized. You are essentially in a room with all other clients and you are fully clothed. No essential aromatherapy oils no spa music and sometimes noisy background because the employees could be talking to each other or their clients. I used to really love this place, but it's gone downhill as of lately. I'm not sure if they are under new management, but there is an entirely different staff now. I've had really bad experiences that last three times I've visited. I always get an hour foot massage, which include head, shoulder, and body massage as well. It's as if the new masseurs have no clue what they're doing. They literally just dig their thumbs into my shoulders and back and it's so painful that it's unbearable! For the foot massage portion, they just roughly rub lotion up and down my foot and calf. I have been going to Happy Foot in Newark for years and always enjoyed their massages. I was there recently and tipped my masseuse more than 20% and she told me I was required to pay her more. So, my husband and I both gave them a 33% tip per her request. I have never experienced a massage place that requested more money for tip. I believe a tip is given based on service and I gave her more than 20%. When we were calling ask if they have a private room for couple massage, they said yes, but it turned out that they don't have it. They did couple massage for us in open space, and we could hear people besides us snoring very loudly, which was so awkward and unpleasant for a massage experience. My bf and I both agree they didn't know what they were doing, basically just touching our skin everywhere or rub my head way too hard. I even feel minor headache today. The back massage was not bad, I did feel good after that, though the lady threw cold towel on me a few times...My bf said the other lady serving him didn't do that to him, so I guess it's up to which therapist you get. Came here twice now and disappointed both times. First time I had a lady who didn't have nearly enough force, she was the size of my lunch and clearly lacked the strength to work on me. (I'm only 160lbs). Second time I came here, I got a mouthbreather who I could tell was smoking before my massage. On top of that, the receptionist was having a wechat call with her relatives and it was so distracting. All three of us were more irritated after the massage than before. To top it off, they said their credit card machine wasn't working, then had the nerve to ask me for an additional $1 dollar to balance the tip out between the three of them. Who does this?
