This was the moving experience from hell. Having used the company twice before with excellent experience, we went with Prof moving for the 3rd time. But we will never use them again. I would recommend you don't either. Some of it was the movers, but most of my issues are with the company. DO NOT GO WITH THEM. They WILL NOT help you if there are issues on the day of the move. Long Review but Please Read. 1) They began the clock BEFORE we signed the contract- from the moment of arrival. But this was not specified NOR did they do that before. Plus it's an hourly rate. So, we were charged without knowing about 15 minutes extra because that's how long it took us to show them what all needed moving/ answer their questions. 2) We had 3 men. One of the men set down boxes really rough. We told him so, and his response was, "I can leave if you need." Of course he did work hard, but right away it became clear we were not going to have it easy. As we are opening boxes (move was July 4th)- already two mugs are broken. 3) They refused to move a wardrobe that they themselves had helped moved previously. We ultimately decided we could live without it. However, the company themself was SO RUDE when we tried to explain the issue. 4) It took them MORE THAN 12 HOURS TO FINISH A MOVE OF 4 MILES! We started at 9am. We had NO heavy furniture. We had 3 beds. One was taken apart already. The other is very simple (20 min max to take apart and rebuild). The master bed takes time. All our other furniture could be moved in one piece. Now, I understand it takes time to load the truck, plus we had stairs and some issues getting furniture up the stairs- so I warrant that maybe that's 1.5 hours more than anticipated due to complications. So, I would have even understood 9 hours. BUT TWELVE or MORE with THREE people?? Here is why it happened: -They shrink wrapped individually rather than as a team. I really appreciate how well they shrink wrapped, but one person doing one couch takes forever rather than two. But fine. It's hard work. -When we arrived at the new property, instead of bringing in furniture and asking where to put it and cutting the shrink wrap, they placed ALLL the furniture in one room. This completely crowded the place and made it IMPOSSIBLE to move around and set anything down. So, they had to AGAIN move ALL the furniture. This took up SO MUCH TIME. -By 7pm, we were DESPERATE. 3 hours at the new place, and NONE of our beds were built. Not even ONE room was properly set up although we kept telling them PLEASE put our things in place. -At 9pm we called the company to explain the issue. We felt bad for the movers, but we were EXHAUSTED. We had begun to move boxes and furniture ourselves! We threw out their trash for them (blankets etc.). We emptied the wardrobe boxes. We literally did not understand what they were doing. They would put things down, add more things around it, then have to go back and redo it all. 5) Starting 7:30pm we tried repeatedly to contact the company to talk to the movers. They were NO HELP AT ALL. At literally 9pm (move started 9am), we REFUSED to pay more because we were over it! The move ended up being $2,000 with US moving boxes and doing work for them! And they offered us a FIVE PERCENT DISCOUNT!! Not even one free hour. And they were SO rude!! I cannot blame the movers. Yes, they could do better. But I believe if their managers told them to respect the customer's directions- they would have listened. Believe it or not, when they REALLY put effort into it (they could see us losing it around 8pm). They managed to finish everything rapidly. But I was SHOCKED at the woman who answers phones and her rudeness and lack of empathy. 6) Worst of all, more than our wasted time, money, and even broken items, was how bad I felt for my dog. She literally had to be outside and out of the way for 12+ hours. She got so scared during the fireworks. Never have movers made me CRY before. But this company has NO respect for its customers or kindness AT ALL. I felt so stupid for choosing them a third time. Never again. By the time they left, after all that time, we still have the soundbar for our TVs in shrinkwraps. The TVs were not plugged in or tested. It was so inefficient. But worst of all, when we tried to help AND get help, we treated awful- our time and money taken for granted. Terrible company. read more

Avoid. We hired Prof Moving to pick up, store, and drop off our furniture during a move. They were terrible at communicating - e.g. said they didn't have the date we agreed on for dropoff, then arrived 4 hours and 10 minutes late for dropoff once we finally did agree on a date. Many items came in poor condition - like our mattress, which arrived wet and covered in mud. Cheap for a reason - highly recommend avoiding. read more

I'd like to give this company 5 stars, they were nice people and were able to move my furniture with care BUT they lost my screws to my bed. I paid the minimum fee of 3hrs when it only took them 2hrs + TIP. I just think it's very unprofessional of them to do that. I tried communicating with them and they kept saying they will drop them off or look for them and would never get back to me. One of the workers even said "go look for them at home depot". Now my furniture has been sitting out in my living room for a while. It's hard to find those specific screws. read more

I've used them twice within 3 years with absolutely no complaints. The first move was local, and it took less than 2 hours. The second move was more intense because the items were super heavy, and the house was situated on a steep incline. It took less than 5 hours to move furniture between Pasadena and the South Bay (approx. 27 miles), not to mention that I instructed them to stop at a storage unit to offload 50% of the furniture before they reached the final destination to offload the rest. The movers were prompt, efficient, and handled all items with care. For the first job, I didn't request an estimate beforehand. I only compared their hourly rates/fees and reviews to other companies. The pricing was incredible and they even installed a flat screen TV so perfectly on a wall mount for a small additional fee. They were so meticulous to get it just perfectly in the right spot. Very reliable movers but likely going to be one of the more expensive options despite their lower per/hr fee. I moved a 1 bdr w/patio pre-packed apartment. The process started at 10:15am and finished at 5pm @135/hr which came out to just under $900. They did bring a tv box upon request which was not billed as a line item. **This review was initially for a move that took place June/July of 2021. Paid 20% deposit @ 4:45 PM on Wednesday evening. Had to cancel my move @ 9:26 AM the following day (Thursday) - less than 15 hours upon making payment. Professional Movers REFUSED to refund my deposit despite no language in the contract stating deposits were non-refundable. Forced to report business to credit card merchant and dispute charge stating 'No Services Received' for monies paid. UPDATE - Just noticed this review was left in my 'draft' folder. Uncertain why I left it unfinished but probably had something to do with finding a competent professional to complete my move - which I did (Hint, it was not these schlubs). So, even though more than 13 months have lapsed since this "transaction", it was still enough of a piss-poor experience that I felt it necessary to alert the public. Consider yourself warned. Here's why this place got 1 star: 1. The price - I was charged 600 bucks for a job that cost me 300 bucks when I moved in a couple years ago. 2. The stalling/time - Why were the movers that moved me in able to move the SAME furniture in 3 hours, but it took these guys 4!? Same number if guys. 3. Damage to my furniture - See pics attached. In addition to this, there were small marks on my floors and walls. 4. Foul odor - One of the movers smelled REALLY bad. No deodorant was used, AT ALL. Definitely will NOT be using this company again and will not refer them to people I know. UPDATE: A woman called me and told me she would reimburse me 70 dollars for the damages to my furniture, and that this number was calculated based on the weight of the furniture. I asked how she knew the weight of the furniture and she couldn't tell me, but did ask me to email her the specs that included weight. I asked what email I should send to and she said that she would text me to let me know. Never received a text. All around not an honest company. Another UPDATE: Rather than apologizing and following through on WHAT THE CONTRACT THAT I SIGNED STATES AND COVERING THE CHIPS AND BROKEN FURNITURE, the owner decides to respond to my message here on Yelp by calling my AVERAGE SIZED stairs narrow, calling me a liar and trying to paint himself/moving business out to be the victims! YOU ARE NOT. Your furniture isn't broken! Your movers didn't take unnecessary breaks! You didn't have to air your home out for nearly 2 days to get rid of an armpit stench! YOU WERE NOT OVERCHARGED. Well they did not call 30 minutes before arrival (as they said they would) and the language barrier was rough (Russian) but overall, Oleg and Alex did a pretty good job but the third older gentleman was very conspicuously NOT helping a lot of the time (took numerous cigarette breaks on my dime) which dragged out the very expensive work hours and he broke quite a few of our belongings due to his carelessness: A really nice tea pitcher, a coat rack, a very old and loved dresser leg. He dropped an open top box FULL of my not expensive but very treasured belongings TWICE just by not paying attention and rushing in what he was doing! I did not appreciate it. For the price and the (practically demanded) tip, I wouldn't use this company again. ALA movers did much better work and a lot faster with only two guys for about $200 less (including tip) and compensated me $40 for dropping my rice cooker (only dented) and it was the only damaged item. They truly earn every 5 star review they receive. I started this moving process after my husband spent days googling movers. He gave me the list and I looked at their yelp and saw reviews including theft and damage and slow pace and then started my search. I found Professional Moving Company and knew I wanted to use their services. I contacted late in the day and had an estimate by the end of night and paid the deposit next day. I was worried my inventory list was not accurate and told Kate my concerns and provided a manual written inventory instead. There was an increase as suspected but they did everything to keep the move affordable. This was my error, not a bait and switch tactic by them, and to be honest they could have pushed the price way further because a week out realistically we couldn't find anyone else. They provided the updated price estimate and we were happy to proceed. Our family moves frequently for my husbands work and we have had the full range of movers. The night before a move we always get nervous about wanting a good working, honest, and courteous crew. I promise, you can set those nerves aside. They were some of the best crew and company we have ever dealt with and we've done this many times. Moving day came and we loved how every team member was so hard working. Not one of them was slacking, there was hustle and caution. They have the necessary equipment for large items. My husband has a toolbox that is about 400 lbs fully loaded. In the past we've had to painstakingly completely empty the chest, move the box, then reload. Professional Moving Company showed up with a pallet jack. We were so shocked and impressed! We did a long distance move across the country and loved that we had a dedicated truck. A huge pro in my book. We had to book it in order to beat them to our destination. Upon arrival at the destination we had 2 crew on hand. Again we saw the same hustle and hard work to unload. In moving, damage sometimes happens no matter how carefully something is handled. It happens. It was some minor damage on a low quality TV stand that was 8 years old and seen some moves already. They showed us the damaged item and then offered a very fair price compensation. We've had movers in the past that don't show the damage thinking you won't bother to call the claim, which in most part is true. Professional Moving Company is exactly that. It's how a company and crew acknowledges something and handles is appropriately that makes a huge difference. These guys are real pro and over experience. We moved my parents house few weeks ago. It's only a 2 bedroom house but we have a heavy massage chair and a over size treadmill. We were worried about those because it's heavy and not easy to move. But while we saw how they wrap and use their skill to make it happen we finally relief. The date we called them we were have someone scheduled originally. But when the first mover come and see our stuff they refuse to move because they heard the moving to house are 2 floors. We have to find another moving company the day that we already packed everything. Thank God we found Alex and his team. We have to pass by 2 other different locations to pick up more furnitures. We start moving around 12pm and finish it almost 10pm. They are fully skilled and patient with difficult. The treadmill spent them almost half hour to figure out how to move out because our patio door is smaller. They try to depart the treadmill or take off the door. And finally they did it! I am calling them today for my own moving and scheduled for this Thursday 2/22, I recommend to my coworker when they moving our office stuff and I will recommend to any of my friend if they need the moving service.
