First off, their website prices aren't correct so you can order online a 16 inch cheese pizza for 11.99, and go pick it up for only 14.50. huh? Ripoff. Now as to the pizza, the crust is bland bread dough like most cheap places use. The sauce wasn't tasty and the cheese was average pizza cheese. So for the 12 dollar price it might be worth getting a x-large with some toppings, but not having the correct prices, it isn't worth 2-3 dollars more. Who knows how off the other prices are. DON'T ORDER HERE unless they tell you upfront what the price will be, don't be fooled by their menu or website "deals" or prices. read more

I had bought a salad next door @ Ledos next to Happy House but Ledos made the mistake of forgetting my plastics for the salad. Didn't notice until after so I figured I could run into Happy's just to quickly grab 1 SET OF PLASTIC FORK/KNIFE. I asked the older man for Him to respond "did you buy anything" I said "no I just needed a fork/knife" He goes "we don't give anything for free" I said "seriously?? I'll pay for it how much is a PLASTIC FORK/KNIFE??" He goes on and says "Your not getting it". Fair to say they're not a fan of African Americans I was very nice to him and even offered to pay for something that may not even be worth 2$ but he was very ignorant to me for no reason. read more

The comments on this place were so negative! I was pmsing and said i wanted a salad and pizza! My fiancé went out and searched for pizza i said don't go there based off of the reviews but he went there anyway! The Caesar salad was fresh! I only wished they gave use more dressing! But the pizza baybbbeee 10/10! We got Hawaiian (pineapples do belong on pizza) we didn't finish the pizza and we put it in the air fryer for about 5 minutes and it was amazing! It's pretty bad for pizza and delivery. Pizza was ridiculously scant on toppings, not all the toppings paid for were even on the pizza, it arrived pretty late, and at room temperature. My daughter has her first job and wanted to buy her father dinner with her own money. She chose to order from happy house which we have gone to for years and have felt good about until recently. She calls and orders a steak and cheese sub, chicken tenders with fries, an order of fries and an order of mozzarella sticks plus a piece of cake. She was told it would be around an hour for delivery, which she agrees with. When the food arrives everything except for the chicken tenders were cold. O don't mean luke warm I mean cold. Have you ever tried a steak and cheese sub thats been hot and then served cold? Well I did. I did it so my daughter wouldn't know the food wasn't of quality. I could only tolerate one bite. I tried to pick off some of the steak and just eat that without the cold grease soaked subroll but even that was just too cold to eat. Both order of fried were cold and the marinara sauce that came with the mozzarella sticks was even cold. You know how long things like that usually stay hot? I mean come on right? I call Happy House of Deale to inform them of how bad our experience has been, thinking they would want the chane to make it right. Ha! I could not have been more wrong. The woman that answered the phone passed my call to what I can only assume is a manager since the next woman didn't identify herself in anyway to me. After she finally understood what order I was referring to, which was a task in itself I guess because of English not being her first language, I tried to explain to her we were not happy with our food being cold. She offered to give us a $6 credit on our next order. Our order was $32.00 and she offers us $6.00 in credit. She doesn't apologize to us, she doesn't offer to remake our food. When she asked if that was satisfactory I ofcourse said no lol. How does that fix anything at all? Then she says I can get full credit, not refund mind you, if I return all the food. Can you even believe it? I have been a customer there for many years and have met the owner and chatted with him many times. I told her so and stated I would be telling him about this terrible experience. She asked what I expected her to do. To give full credit without talking to the driver? Then she tried to tell me about how many deliveries they had and how long a wait it would be if we were to order at that time. Look, I dont mind waiting for an hour if thats how long you tell me. But I expect the food will be fresh. If you need more drivers thats not my issue, it is yours. I might talk to the owner since we have known him so long. Then again I might not go there again at all....ever. Bottom line.....if you want hot food be careful choosing this delivery. read more

I wish there was a way to show NO stars. Went to pick up 2 pizzas.. one cheese only & one with pepperoni & onion . Took them home & found cheese only was as ordered & also received second cheese only , not as ordered. However, the least acceptable thing was the abundant amount of grease on the pizza & coating bottom of box. Called shop to explain & ask to have it corrected . Spoke with girl who answered & the owner. Wanted to charge to supply pizzas we ordered. My husband drove back to Deale & NO ONE would even speak to him.. never mind correct the pizza without pepperoni & onion.. talk about lack of customer service or ANY kind of service! Will never return or speak a kind word about this shabby low-class operation. Mama Lucias is quality worth the drive. this place makes an excellent veggie pizza - the crust is thick so be warned but it is really amazing - I think it''s the best veggie pizza I have ever had, certainly the best in Deale. We've given this place a try twice now. First time wasn't terrible (not good) but the second time was just disgusting. We ordered and was told 45 minutes to 1 hour which was totally fine because it was a Friday night-understandable! Our pizza arrived after an hour and 45 minutes- cold. And I'm not kidding when I say I'm not even sure majority of things were cooked. The pizza was so doughy it was inedible, which seemed ridiculous because we ordered "well done" and got handed an inedible pizza. Anyway, we also got mozzarella sticks which were ice cold in the middle as if they weren't even fried, not as if they were hot and the almost 2 hours it took to get to us had anything to do with it. My boyfriend got wings which were cooked (yay!) but had no sauce on them or on the side (we ordered hot wings and blue cheese) and were given neither. Lastly, we ordered cheesecake with raspberry topping and got plain cheesecake that was flipped upside down. We called to see if it wasn't out for delivery, if we could just pick it up instead and we're told it'd be there soon. I truly wouldn't spend a penny here and would recommend Ledos or Dominos if you want edible food. $75 for that was just a huge disappointment. read more

This was my first time visiting Happy House as I am new to the West River area. The place is a classic little dive which is perfect for me. I ordered two pizzas for take-out. The price was right; so far so good. As I was waiting, the owner came over, said "Hey, you're new here" and sat down for a chat.. Old school fellowship. Very nice guy. The pizzas were quite tasty with a chewy crust - a little thicker than I was hoping for but my wife loved it. It might be the type of place where he'll make a thinner crust upon request - I'll give it a try next time. I will definitely go back for the pizza and eventually try the other menu items. Visiting from NYC area, looking for decent sub/pizza joint and drove past the most unassuming strip mall storefront ever. So glad we gave it a shot. The pizza pickup special ($7.99 x-large cheese, $6.99 large cheese) is ridiculous. This is good pizza! Thicker than thin crust, excellent cheese-to-sauce ratio, and cooked perfectly (cheese browned all over, not pasty white or burned). Crazy great deal, 5 star deal. The subs are very average. Not cheap at $10.99 for a 14", and not especially good (or bad). And our tuna salad sub was mistakenly made with chicken salad. For a pretty rural area, this place is a little gem for the pizza. Nice staff, laid back, and we will return when we're in the area again. read more

So my wife is a regular customer for the happy house in deale. The main issue is with the sleazeball owner. 9 times out of 10 when she orders. He calls her to "verify" her order and always compliments her voice and tells her shes beautiful and all this stuff. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing cuz hes not wrong but hes very creepy about it. She ordered online recently and she specifically said in all caps "NO CONTACT" because of the pandemic. What does he do? He shows up at the door waiting. Complete disregard for the no contact delivery because he wants to hit on my wife. For years I've heard stories about this dude being an absolute creep to just about any female thst comes across him whether they are customers or employees there. Im sure im not the only one to bring this up but its disrespectful and its creepy as hell. Dude needs to stay in his lane. And on top of all that. He still messes up the orders consistently and then doesnt do anything to correct it or make up for it. Basically my point is that hes a sleazeball and shouldnt be allowed within 500 feet of a female and should probably work on his business practices and quality of his service. read more

What a great experience this evening! From placing the order to delivery. Zero complaints! I called to place a delivery order at 8:10 p.m. knowing they closed at 9:00 p.m. Kelly (I belive thats her name - hope so) answered, took my order and card info. and was very pleasant. For it nearing closing time, her positive, relaxed attitude was refreshing. I wasn't rushed off the phone. Exactly who you want representing. First point of contact. On point! The food arrived fresh and the fries were still hot. Not warm. Hot. In these temps. The order was correct, even got all my requested substitutions. My husband said the driver was friendly. I asked for the special. With no onions and the meat over cooked, I told him I'm preg and wish for the meat cooked extra even if it's zapped in the microwave. He said no. I asked for the side to be macaroni salad. I get the order 20 mins later. Onions on my gyro w Cole slaw. I left. Simple place can't give me what I want, I'll lv it as a purchase and walk out. We got a bit lost trying to find this place (both Yahoo and Google maps have it wrong -- it is in a little strip mall between Deale Beach Rd. and Broadwater Road. It is shown on Google Maps, but the address maps incorrectly). Anyway, we rolled up right when they closed, as the owner was locking the front door. He saw our sad faces and told us that he could still make something as long as it wasn't grilled. We ended up with a delicious pizza and were very grateful that he didn't send us away hungry. I love the chicken parm sandwich. But I've had a bad experience with the chicken for the gyro. It was still on the skewer (no big deal) but the chicken was hard as rocks I broke the skewer trying to get the chicken off and none of it was eatable. Another experience I ordered popcorn chicken for my young daughter, the chicken was old and extremely over cooked. I now stay far away from this place. If they allow the chicken to be served this bad, what is the standard for the rest of the food? I'll pass on getting sick from this place! read more

Quality of the food has really started to suffer. Lived in the area for over 30 years. Portion size went down and prices are constantly going up. Ordered last night and the owner of the place over charged us over $10. I have ordered take out and delivery and in store from Happy House. Their pizza is exactly to my taste, always well prepared. If I make a request like drawing the sauce to edge it is always cheerfully completed. Their other items are as good as can be. The delivery person is wonderfully cheerful and it always comes hot.
