We currently live in Calvert county, and it's been a while since we've had a really good pizza place. Before I get a ton a negativity - we love Brick. We go there a ton and we do like their pizza. We also go to Mod in a pinch, but i have been craving some real pizza I of course checked yelp to find any place remotely close to us and I found Angelina's. I was sold with her amazing replies to the misguided idiots who think this pizza place is anything less than amazing. I had been CRAVING a decent pizza. It's been since my last trip out of state since I've had anything remotely like traditional, cheesy, crunchy, savory goodness. After work on a Friday, my husband and I trekked over to Mayo. We wanted to check out the selection of desserts and settled on the yummy looking cannoli and went back out to our car to phone in our order. The place smells amazing. It's a legit pizza place and everything I was expecting. We waited an acceptable amount of time and went in for our pizza. The car smelled so good on our 40 min drive back home. We got home and honestly no one waited to reheat the pizza. We all just dove into the enormous, cheesy, deliciousness we had been waiting so long for. I was not disappointed. We have put Angelina's on our list of places to go. Worth the drive. Worth the wait. Worth it. read more

I have had their pizza many times before yesterday. Pizza was delightful. Returned yesterday and was rudely treated by the staff/owners. I was willing to wait for an hour for a pizza. They would not take a counter order. I arrived without a cell phone and could not call in an order. A gentleman picking up a couple of pizzas told me that if I waited that they would call the police. Not willing to make a scene I left. Sorry to say I will not be back. I wish them no ill will. I must take my business somewhere else. read more

I am very perplexed as to how anyone stays in business when running every one off. I was personally asked by Mary Jo to never come back for stand too close the check out area. She screamed at me "Can you step away from the counter. People have to pay for the pizzas." Interestingly, I was the only one in the shop. Sometime later I was doing laundry a few doors down when a gentleman walked in stating he was told to never return. Why? He asks for a sub with no mayonnaise. When walking in asking if she would scrape off the mayo, she did and tossed it back saying to never come back. One last personal situation, 2 years ago my cousin Nelson walked in after a phone standing further towards the back around the rest rooms. Mary Jo uttered, "You can't be back in that area" in a loud arrogant tone of voice at which time Nelson walked towards the front of the store saying nothing. While paying for his pizza Nelson ask what was the problem when she flat out retuned his money and kept the pizza. Even more interesting than all of this is the numerous amounts of people that have been ask to never return and have no idea how she stays in business. And the rules: no phone order before 3, can't stand beyond a certain point, one menu for the entire public, its nuts. Their food is wonderful. If they get it right. There has been numerous times we have ordered and they mess up the order. They need to get their stuff together. This is the third time we ordered and they messed it up. Ordered two dinners and only received one...... the last time they didn't make the right thing we ordered. Loved this pizza. It wasn't my NY pizza but It was pretty darn good and better than the other local pizzerias! We got plain and a pep. Both awesome. It's a drive from Annapolis, and they can only handle so many orders and your likely to have to wait for It, but go ahead. I dare you to try It. They were super friendly and there's two sauce. One is sweeter. I preferred the kore savory. But that's just me. Good size, well priced for quality. I'll be back. My review of this wonderful family owned pizza shop is long overdue but so well deserved. But, I write it with a heavy heart as my family will be leaving the area and Angelina's will be far out of reach. Our history with Angelina's started one rainy night. We had just relocated from another state. We were in need of pizza and we wanted to avoid your usual chain pizza. Angelina's popped up on Yelp with a few polarizing reviews. Still, I sent the husband out into the rain. He came back with piping hot pizza and three years later we are still hooked. I am writing this review post three slices (always pepperoni with eggplant, sweet Amy's style) and half a chocolate chip cookie . I always get a quizzical look from folks when I recommend pizza with eggplant and pepperoni but trust that this combination is delicious. Angelina's pizzas are always perfectly made with the right combination of sauce, cheese, toppings and dough. The crust is always a perfectly golden with the perfect bite and chew. The Sweet Amy sauce seems to be hit or miss but we love it. The regular red sauce is also very good. For dessert, their chocolate chip cookies are orgasmic especially when fresh out of the over. Their cannolis are also a delight. To top things off, they are very friendly and thoughtful. When they found out that my husband was deploying, they had the crew leave notes of well wishes on a sheet of brown paper and attached it to the pizza box. We still have that pizza box sized note and it will be a treasured memory of our time in Maryland. Little touches like that mean so much. Their establishment is truly such a positive asset to the community. TDLR? Angelina's is a complete win! A rather good Italian Cold Cut Sandwich on a hard roll. I prefer an Italian Soft Roll but this is a good sandwich. Asked for an extra bit of oregano, no mayo, oil and vinegar instead. They have a dressing they use instead of oil and vinegar and it is pretty good. The owner threw in a mini apple pie tart which was pretty cool, and tasty. Sweet Amy sauce is a staple if you grew up in or near selby and Angelina's make it even better. They have the BEST pizza around. The subs are also amazing with cricket rolls. We always get at least one large pepperoni sweet Amy's pizza and it's so much food but I can't help but to get a sub to go as well. Sometimes it's hard to know what's on the menu but i added some window pictures to help! The hours can be funky so just call before driving there. It's worth the trip. read more

This is a family-run little shop, and the family happens to be part of a pizza dynasty. The pizza is quintessential NY style and they have excellent hot and cold subs as well - I get extra meat to make sure the proportions are to my liking. My Brooklyn born parents said the pizza's good enough to make the property value increase around here - one thing Maryland is VERY short on. The owner and her daughters who run the joint are unapologetically great. I've witnessed a couple of unruly customers earn a place on the wall of shame, but that's what you get when you try to verbally assault a teenage girl in Mary Jo's shop. The only thing I didn't like was allowing people without masks in the store, which was weird because they take great precautions because you cannot go in the store and you must call in. I should let you know, right off the bat, the people who generally poopoo this place are pretty weak. They claim to value "unique" and "authentic" food experiences, but bristle at an actual unique person like the owner Mary J and an authentic pizza place that doesn't operate like a overly-micromanaged chain. The food is good. She's been doing this for close to 35 years between here and Bowie, if I'm correct. You don't stay in business as an independent outfit for that long making subpar product and alienating your customers. I get a pizza every other week and it is always amazing. One legit gripe with some small businesses is a lack of consistency in product. Not the case here. Always good. I don't want to discount all the bad reviews (some are obviously because the owner didn't kiss their salty *sses), but I will say I've never once been disappointed here. Get on down, get some pizza or a stromboli, grab a fresh baked cookie on the way out and say "have a good day". You won't be mad you did. read more

Never again. We've lived in South County for over 30 years, and we always support local businesses, but I will never go back to Angelina's. I've worked in food service, including a pizza shop, and I know it's not an easy job. That does not excuse the treatment we received tonight after trying to place an order and receiving rudeness in return. For a business that is open only a few days a week, in a fairly remote area, you would expect good customer service, especially for locals. We received the exact opposite, and will not return, which is a shame, because we actually like the pizza, but have been told we're "not special" and "no longer welcome." No thanks. read more

I ordered a large pepperoni pizza with New York sauce and two cannolis to take to our marina. It was the perfect for four people to spilt while watching the sunset. The fam stopped here after a short visit to Beverly Triton Beach. Ordered a pepperoni pizza as we left the beach but still had a 30 min wait. But the pizza was hot and delicious. The crust is a little crunchier than we're used to but it was a delicious Sunday meal eaten in the car. For the time being, you're only allowed inside if its your pick up time, no sooner. So glad I finally got to try Angelina's. I remember the original place in Bowie at the old MarketPlace. The pizza brought back so many memories. Definitely worth the price and the 30 minute drive in traffic. The NY pizza sauce was awesome. Can't wait to try the sweet sauce. Dough is thin but holds up the toppings. Good pizza in Maryland? Not so much. Oh, you can get boutique pies with exotic ingredients for $20+ per pizza. But a normal cheese or pepperoni with a great crust? Keep driving to New Jersey. Haven't been to Angelina's in a very long time and was looking for pizza close to home. I went on line to see a menu and none was to be found on their face book site. Found on on a third party site and called in an order by phone for Pizza, and wings. For toppings the menu did not include tomato's, i ordered them in hopes that it was an omission. Was given a ready time and headed out to the shop to look for desert because non was listed on the menu. When I got their I found cannoli's and CC cookies, added two cannoli's. Paid for my order then went back to my car to Wait. Got my order found no take home menu's in the store, an up dated menu would have been nice as the size of the pizza of the pizza is 17 inch the prices are a little higher and deserts could be added. I got the order home and the flavor of the pizza and wings were great! I was a little disappointed that the pizza seamed to be a little over cooked as were the wings. leaving a very crisp crust and some what tuff to eat wings. As is the case with almost every small business i have visited in the last three years Angelina's was short staffed. Hoping this was the reason for the slightly over cooked food as I really would like to frequent this shop so close to my home. PS the cannoli was delicious. read more

Just moved to Edgewater and finally stopped in. WOW! I agree it's s bit more expensive than expected but I can honestly say that I've thoroughly enjoyed every bite!! Stop in today!! The lasagna dish for nine dollars is to die for! The pizza is as close to New York if you might get in this area. Cheesesteaks are a large portion designed to please!
