Wow. I remarked how this spot opening up in downtown Disney may have Joe's Italian or Rita's have a run for their monies. After experiencing the craziness (queue that wrapped around the block) that is Joe's Italian ice, having an Italian ice right before heading to Disneyland was chefs kiss and redemption! Ordering is super easy at the kiosk. They take cards including Apple Pay. Pickup is super easy, too. Right next to the kiosk off to the side (less than 5 minutes from ordering). At first I thought $13.95 was steep for a cup of Italian ice. After trying it and feeling quite full afterwards, it's a justified price for a filling treat! I quite liked the way they made the textures stand out so well. From the crumbs of the vanilla wafers, to the pudding, ice cream and banana Italian ice, it was a perfect blend. If only I had enough space to try the peach cobbler joy-lati, too! My toddler got the rainbow rocket kids cup for $8.50. The cup size and scoop did seem a little small for the price, but it was still a hit. Note: their spoons are super cool! Changes color due to the coldness of the ice. Next time, I'll need to make the drive to one of their LA shops to try more of their menu (more joy-lati's please!) read more

Went to get some Happy Ice last night. The line was very short but there was a technical issue so it was a bit of a wait for that. I asked if I can pick my own flavors (didn't care for the ones posted) and they said yes. So I picked cheery and watermelon. I was thinking it was going to be a scoop of each flavor but it was a mix. It was smooth and creamy. Very delicious and will come back over and over again. Just take the monorail and it's right there. They also have this flavored shave ice. I was sitting next to this person FaceTiming someone about it. He was going through all the emotions on his shave ice like, is it worth the wait? He said maybe but when he was almost done, he said it's definitely worth the wait and actually said it was way better than shave ice. I will have to try that one next time. He had the banana one. We got the opportunity to stop by Happy Ice while on a trip to Disneyland. We were very excited to try new flavors. We went with the Banana Pudding, and it was so yummy. The ice reminded me of mashed up bananas, while the pudding gave it the creaminess. Mix in that vanilla ice cream and it's just heaven. The line was relatively short and moved quick. All the ladies working were very pleasant. You can see them working together to get the orders out quick. Definitely a stop if you are in the Downtown Disney area or Disneyland. I was super excited to try Happy Ice since it opened in Downtown Disney a few weeks ago! I came on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy. I saw the line directly next to the store and I think it clogs up the foot traffic a little. We waited maybe 30 minutes in total from waiting in line and also waiting for our ice to be scooped. There were only 2 girls working, one taking orders to get rid of the line and one scooping all the orders. When we ordered, we were deciding on the very limited flavors that they offered and ultimately decided on Summer Time with condensed milk. When we got to the cashier to order, they said that they were out of condensed milk. Bummer, I wish there was a sign written in front letting people know what was out of stock. The kids' size was $8 and they don't offer MK discount. It was a pretty decent sized cup but $8 was pretty expensive. I thought that the ice was extremely soft and there's no ice clumps. I also thought that the watermelon was very overpowering and I couldn't taste the strawberry and mango that was mixed in. read more

My girlfriend and I have been waiting to try this new food stand in Downtown Disney, but we wanted to let some of the opening hype die down first. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the line was finally only about five people long, so we immediately hopped in line. After much deliberation because everything sounded so good, we decided to get the Rocket Sorbet in a kids cup since we just wanted to try it first and see if we liked it. Neither of us are usually sorbet people. BUT let me tell you, this might have completely converted both of us because it was perfect. Usually, our issue with sorbet is that it gets crystallized too easily and ends up having an icy texture, but this had such a smooth consistency that you almost forgot it wasn't ice cream. The fruit flavors tasted really fresh and balanced well together. The lemonade was definitely the most tart out of all of them, but even then it was the kind of tartness that was still really enjoyable. You would think mixing all of those flavors together would turn the scoop into a muddled mess, but somehow each flavor was still able to hold its own. We could actually taste every single flavor instead of everything blending into one. We're definitely planning on coming back because we already have our eyes on the sundaes next. It's definitely on the more expensive side for a sweet treat, so it's probably not something we'll be getting all the time, but it's definitely a good place to mix into our usual dessert rotation every now and then. read more

I had been wanting to try Happy Ice for quite some time, so when I found out they were opening at Downtown Disney, I knew I had to go. I'm so glad I did because they did not disappoint! The flavors were delicious! I'd also like to compliment the young girl working the register yesterday (I wish I had gotten her name). She was sweet, friendly, and bubbly. At one point, I overheard another employee (an older woman) tell her they were out of condensed milk--but only after she had already rung several people up for it. Despite being put in that situation, she handled it with so much professionalism and grace. She apologized sincerely to every customer affected, explained the situation, and offered a solution. So I was here about 2 weeks ago and ordered a peach cobbler and an All Star. The All Star was great. Very tasty and delicious on a hot day. When I started to eat the peach cobbler I notice it was lacking a bit of peach flavor and I noticed there was peach chunks missing as a topping so I went back and asked the worker making the ice creams if they forgot to include the peach chunks and she said it doesn't come with it on top and only the crumble so I took her work for it. I then went back and looked at the DESCRIPTION AND PICTURE and it clearly says peach chunks and clearly has peach chunks on the picture. I'm seeing a couple of pictures of the peach cobbler and notice all of them missing the peaches on top as a topping. The owner should cross out the peach chunks in description and re-take the picture so it doesn't mislead anyone. I actually went back and noticed every specialty ice picture doesn't have the strawberries on the strawberry shortcake, no bananas on the banana cream pie, and not peaches on the cobbler as it says in the descriptions. Both were so good and my LO could not stop raving about it. The truck is located near Din Tai Fung and there are lots of places to sit and enjoy your Happy Ice.
