This was the first (& only) Boba place my daughter introduced me too and I love it. However this review is for one drink only !‍ I had gastric bypass over 20 years ago and have to be very careful with excessive sugar or fat calories in one serving of food. Too much and we get dumping syndrome, believe me, not fun! So to have somewhere I can control the ingredients is amazing! Plus it takes me a couple of hours to finish the drink anyway. I say all of that because it's VERY important that I be able to trust that what I consume won't make me sick, Happy lemon delivers! Mango jasmine green tea, 30% sweet, 50% ice and double boba. That's it, simple. I've had a few drink makers there but Angelica is my favorite! I cake into town from Sumas, Sunday & had to come back again Monday, I geared my drive into town just so I could go again! She's even let me know that the mango chunks they put in is sweet too and do I want to alter that? She's always chipper and smiling, great conversation even for this awkward small talk gal Go try! Went yesterday with friends and family. We got a variety of Boba milk tea and lemonade drinks, along with one of the bubble waffles. My taro boba was tasty , there were some crunchy brown sugar bits in the tapioca pearl Boba that I ordered. Not bad, but a different texture than I am used to. I would definitely recommend getting less sweet or 50% sweet. The bubble waffle was beautiful and tasty. Definitely something different to try. Not too sweet, although I didn't have it with the frosting type stuff that it was served with. My daughter thought that the Oreo cream topping was good enough to eat alone Some people have said that the pricing seems steep, but this is about the price that I see for Boba in any other city. (Upward of $7-$8 per drink). Definitely a treat. Recommend! read more

It's good... but pricey. It's definitely a place for a special treat, but I can't afford to go on a regular basis. Kids love the chocolate waffle as well as their bobo drinks. One order the strawberry shotcake, one got the grapefruit, and I got the regular milk bobo. Love that the grapefruit had actually grapefruit in it and not "grapefruit flavoring." Each drink was about $6 dollar but the extra items were added, i.e., tapioca can cost an extra $.75 - $1. So your drink can end up costing about $7 -$9. It's definitely a place for a special treat, but I can't afford to go on a regular basis. read more

Second time going to this Bellingham location! My first time was their grand opening and I enjoyed the waffles and puff cream so much. Was craving it recently so had to go again! The original waffle is a classic and a must try, however this time I tried the chocolate and it was also delicious! I'm also obsessed with the puff cream it's a must addition to ordering with your waffle! I was happy with my drink and look forward to trying all the different flavors. The place itself is so cute and decorated nicely. It is a small location and is mostly high chair bench seating, but it's still cozy! If you come when it's not busy you can snag the cozy pillow corner to sit. The service is friendly and kind and you can watch as they make everything which is nice to see. A few weeks ago, we decided to try Happy Lemon. We had seen one near Seattle and was surprised to find out it was a chain and they actually had one in Bellingham. The ambiance is that of just a cute little cafe, but not really the type of place you'd spend more than 30 minutes. The service was good and the cashier was really helpful with making decisions about what to order. We decided on two bubble waffles: original and matcha, with a creamy dipping sauce, and got a salted cheese tea. It was a fun experience to watch them make the waffles! As far as pricing goes, it was a little over-the-top for what we got. So, I'd recommend going into it with the idea that you're paying novelty shop prices. The food itself was good, but I'd recommend avoiding the use of the creamy dip on the matcha waffle (there was something oddly bitter and salty about thr flavor combo). My husband ended up really enjoying the salted cheese tea (once he got past how weird the combination was). Give this place a try if you're looking for a dessert that is not overly sweet! read more

The drinks are usually great, but lately have been either watered down or missing items. They tend to be out of toppings often or forget to add them to your order. The service is terrible as well, the employees are often rude or just do not have the customer service skills needed for the job. When the drinks are good, they are great, but you just never know how they are going to taste lately even when you order the same drink. This used to be my favorite place to get drinks but after my experience last night, I will gladly pass and go somewhere else. Happy lemon employees are definitely not happy. read more

I didn't know this place existed before last week when I went. I decided to take my family there to try it since we love boba! The lady who took our order didn't make conversation at all. It was a bit busy so waiting 20 mins was about right. When our order was called 1 of the drinks wasn't ours and they somehow lost the one that was ours. 2 of our drinks were taro milk tea made regular. Both cups said 100% ice yet they didn't have any ice nor were we told they didn't have ice... after such a long wait we just left with what we were given. Because there wasn't ice it was extremely milky and sickening. We'll have to try the other boba places in town till we find one that values their customers and quality control. read more

We were looking for a treat and definitely found one! The menu is extensive and there are so many ways to customize your drinks. I prefer less sweet treats and they have the option to choose your sweetness level. The strawberry jasmine green tea with cheese foam was perfectly refreshing and incredibly flavorful. My daughter tried the strawberry shortcake smoothie and it was crazy good too! To top it off, the employees were really helpful and even offered to make us something different if we didn't like what we ordered. Highly recommend! read more
