Terrible experience. My children wanted bubble tea following a bike ride. The location was ideal and we thought we would try something new to our area. For starters the menu is so tightly packed that it's difficult to discern where one item ends and the other begins. On top of that, the amount of options is overwhelming. Due to this we had questions for the cashier. She clearly does not know the product and became flustered as we sought clarity. After struggling to order and giving up on anything for the wife and I, we waited as the children's drinks were prepared. We witnessed chaos. The staff was more concerned with socializing than doing their jobs. There were several employees talking amongst themselves while giggling, and the waffle maker was talking to a friend leaning over the counter. Somewhat unprofessional, but it's a "soft launch". Not a great excuse. Shame for using the paying public as a training ground. The last thing that will likely prevent me from visiting with my family in the future was witnessing one employee come off the streets and jump right into her shift without washing her hands. If that wasn't bad enough the employee who had been the cashier immediately turned around and began to prep food without washing her hands. Completely unacceptable. Aside from the above, for a restaurant that's not even had its grand opening yet it was pretty dingy. The equipment was visibly dented and warn, looked as though cheap paint had been applied, and the furniture purchased from five different garage sales and arranged together. We spoke to the manager prior to leaving and she was apologetic, but quite obviously over her head. What this place needs is a leader, because reputation can only last so long. read more

It is nice to see a location open up near the Costco in Issaquah. I have tried a couple of different teas in last 2-3 months or so. They have good flavor offerings. Option for the waffle makes it a good place to stop by for light refreshments. The thing I cannot seem to justify is their premium pricing. The taste is not drastically different than that from their cheaper competitors which exist on other side of I-90. You need to pay additional for fresh milk, which question what the standard version milk is? A standard milk tea and a waffle costing $16 is total is quite surprising. I find this Happy Lemon to be quite consistent in their flavors! The last time I came here, they changed the way you ordered a little bit - more efficient! Though there was only 1 person behind me, before I ordered anything I was asked if I was going to order a bubble waffle and then he also asked the person behind me before starting drink orders. In doing it this way, I think they are more on too of their bubble waffle orders and subsequently, less waiting time for the waffle. SMART! The queue is relatively short compared to Bellevue, so that's a plus. The staff here are great! I had an issue in which they forgot the add ins to my order and this was quickly addressed and resolved. I really love their professionalism and how they handled my issue. My co-workers and I were very excited for this opening! I'll start this by saying I like sweet boba (the actual tapioca balls), and more authentic places will have less flavored tapioca. This places' boba is a bit more earthy than a place like sharetea, but the "cheese" or rock salt crema is amazing here. They give less boba than most places, so add extra. I'll come back because it's extremely close to work, but I kinda prefer the flavor of the tapioca at sharetea more. Depends on how authentic I'd want my drink that day. Quick service. Son ordered the oreo milk tea and I had a jasmine tea with salt rock crema on top and both were incredible. So delicious and can't wait to go back. I've never ordered outside of my comfort zone (taro boba tea) and I'm really glad I did. The salt rock crema is sweet and salty and just the perfect blend if you enjoy sweet and savory. This is my first time trying bubble tea after my kid told me in detail about how good it is. I went for a hike nearby and stopped in. The inside experience has been ruined due to Covid and I feel the small town of Issaquah is even more strict with their health measures. Tables are cleared away, no restrooms and green floor dots show you where you should stand. Despite the "rules" the items they offer are worth the hassle. I ordered the Milk Tea with Boba and Puff Cream, half ice, half sugar. I liked that you can customize the sugar and ice. It was delicious and the boba and cream insane. It tasted a lot like chocolate milk with lil chewies. Super good. The Bubble Waffle is a MUST. Not only because it's visually appealing but it's like a trip to the carnival. Crusty edges with pillow spheres of sweet waffle goodness. Not overly sweet, but I see you can get dips for it. You don't need it. And if you leave it in your car, you can return to a sweet summery memory of good times. read more

Ordered for pickup. App said 20 minutes. Waited 40 minutes and said it was still being prepared. There were 4 employees and two customers inside. Went inside to check again and the order was done and in the fridge for long enough that the ice was melted. Boba milk tea had no boba. The other one was made hot and also had no boba. Thankfully they remade our drinks without issue, but I'll definitely prepare for a very long wait if I ever try again. read more

Good drinks BUT 1) they are stingy with toppings compared to other HL locations and nearby Sharetea; 2) I believe the staff are a little lazy because twice now I caught them not offering pickup option either through phone or DoorDash and when I called to inquire I was given the excuse that they're very busy and asked me to come in instead, only to find 5 workers (1 on waffles, 2 working on drinks and the rest just chatting away) and only one order ahead of me and no line at all; and 3) a little too pricey when compared to other top boba stores. read more

The 3 stars is for the pretty decent drinks. The price isn't the most expensive I've seen for bubble tea and the quality is good. However, this specific Happy Lemon branch lost 2 stars for speed. I've been in the place when it was both slow and busy, but both times resulted in long wait times. Even though I could see the customers becoming less patient, the workers were definitely in no rush to finish 10+ drinks. I come here for 3 years often and well yesterday experience has been the worst. We generally order the same items mango smoothie, roasted tea and vanilla waffles. They taste excellent. parking is plenty. cons: consumer service. There was three women there 2 american 1 asian. ordering was fine. looks like it will be less than 5-10 wait there was no other person waiting for drinks or waffle. I took my kids to bathroom and when we went out i saw my drinks mango smoothies were done. They were at the corner so i took it and as soon i did the american women snapped at me "Don't just take it!" I told her i went to bathroom with my kids i didn't know she called my number or not but those were my drinks. And she said "NO you have one more!" but the roasted tea was already done i saw it there along with my mango. But hey i'm not going to argue with her I just waited there. Until she feels like giving it to me. you see as i mention we were the only customer there. plus, i can read the label and number on the drinks those were mine. then she continued to ignored me. she didn't ask my order number. Then the asian women was so nice she ask my number gave me my drinks and asked about my waffles. i went up to counter to check if my waffles were done the other american women she ignored me and she wasn't happy. and she left. Then the nice asian women took over came and gave me my waffles ask if i needed bag and told me to have a good day. Then the american waffle women took her break or was done with her shift. Overall, perhaps the two american women were having a bad day perhaps they had a rush and when i came it slowed down they are tired. But when working in customer service if you can't be nice to customers or too tired perhaps a shorter shift or a different career is suitable. i pay $40-50 each visit and i come very often on spring to summer. I hope the owner and talk to staff becuase this type of customer service customers don't deserve to be treated rudely when we have a choice to go to plenty of other bubble tea shops. somewhere we feel more welcome. why do I have to support an average of $200-400 per month = $1200 to $2,400 i spend yearly during spring to summer. yeah i doesn't seem much but when you add up it becomes a lot. I didn't mind the price but when the customer service gets too bad. Im reminded of it when i think of wanting to come back. I feel uneasy negative feeling and that outweighs my want to come back not matter how well the food and drinks are. Do I have to endure bad customer service to receive drinks and waffle? I should have to. But it becomes an dilemma. a visit of buying bubble tea should be a family fun experience your business name is "happy lemon" staff should be happy. Glad there's a location outside of the jam-packed location in Bellevue Square! Happy Lemon is one of my top options for boba because their salted cheese crema is so good. I tried their jasmine milk tea crema (50% sweetness) and their mango matcha (70% sweetness). Both were pretty good. The mango matcha was still a bit too sweet so I'd go for 50% next time or try other things. I'm just glad I don't have to wait in the long, crowded lines in Bellevue Square anymore and this location has lots of space and parking too. Came here on Saturday afternoon and there was barely any lines and my drink came out quickly. Close to Costco, so I'll probably head here after my Costco runs more often! read more

I'll be honest, I haven't tried any other place yet with the boba teas and all that, so can I say this is the BEST out there? No. But is it good to us? Yes! So good. I love the black tea ube with taro ball (and sometimes, I add oreo puff) and my husband loves his milk tea with boba, as well as the salt rock crema drinks. New bubble tea/coffee shop where the old Tully's used to be! So happy!! It's primarily a bubble tea place but they also do coffee drinks. I didn't try the coffee but the "milk tea with taro ball" I ordered was delicious! They very much encourage customization of your "sugar level", which is great, but I thought the standard level of sweetness was right on point! Apparently they serve some local brand of coffee, so that's cool. The ambiance is very cute and modern and "insta-worthy". Will definitely be back! read more

I know a lot of people are split on happy lemon and thats okay. But I've been going to happy lemon locations ever since I was child and it has always been pretty consistent. It has decent drinks, the yogurt drinks are always one of my go tos or just milk tea with taro balls. The lemon tea here is also good if youre looking for something light. They also do bubble waffles here and they're usually pretty solid. Service is fast. Can't go too wrong here. read more

This review is in regards to the staff. They need to look more professional. I don't think they should have any facial piercings whatsoever. I worked in the food industry for a few years and I'm very well aware that hair should be tied back. There were girls with long hair who didn't have their hair pulled. Secondly, I witnessed a gal wiping her nose with her hand before handling fresh avocados. This is a big no no. These are against the food code and is a legal requirement. I went here recently with my boyfriend and tried the new Tres Leches boba tea- IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! There was cake in the drink but also a crunch and marshmallows and boba and just wow. Must try! My boyfriend got an espresso latte with boba and loved it as well. I am used to bubble tea in Asia... I stopped by, tried the Wintermelon Lemonade. Sigh. Taste is like lemonade, not wintermelon. Perhaps supply chain issues with wintermelons? Or perhaps they forgot to add the wintermelon? I watched while customers placed orders and waited. Staff did not engage with customers. Shop relies on a mini-PA system to echo the staff's voice to customers 6 feet away. A slight delay adds to the bad karaoke effect. Is it intentional? Covid has been conquered the world over, but apparently still rampant in this shop. Seating remain in an unsightly pile in the corner. Watered down tea, standoffish staff, bad ambiance = not coming back. read more

I ordered Blacktea rock seasalt creama, and ew first time ever - got the tiny white things in the bottom of the cup since I first got from the counter, even I tried to stirred all drink mixed but these small white pieces still there! ( aka jerky taste kinda like cheese) but surely later will make my stomach being unwell. I'm big fan of creama tea, hopefully the drink will be better by. I thought they're new and need time to catch up so gave them the second try today. Ok, service is super slow!!! 45 mins for 3 drinks, and don't ever order their milktea if you are a fan of it! Mine tasted like whole milk diluted by tea, no flavor no sweetness! I ordered regular sweetness by the way. The other 2 drinks was messed up with wrong topping. I'm done. Never come back. I have had no complaints about this place until today. This location is new, and it's obvious they're still working out some rough patches. The service is slow, even when you're only ordering two drinks and waffles. The consistency of their waffles and drinks has also varied. I was willing to let this go, because it's also equally obvious that once they get into a groove this place is going to be amazing. I would love to be able to give them more stars, but when I tried to order the drink I always get (A C1) on their menu, which is a "Freshly squeezed lemon black tea, or Jasmine tea" they told me I could not longer customize my ice levels. This is literally just ice tea with lemon, but the person who rang me up said they make it a "blended drink", and that they had to take the ice out after they blend it. Makes no sense, right? I thought so too, but it seems like the employee didn't really understand what they were telling me either. This is a big disappointment, considering a large drink costs $5.23, with tax included. For that price, I should be able to customize it any time I want. As a side note, hopefully you don't have to use the restroom in this place. You'll need to get an employees attention for the code. read more
