Glad they opened a location here as the Issaquah location is beautiful but a bit of a drive from my home. Anyway, staff is wonderfully friendly and genuine. Was here during the day so I am not sure how full it can get but during the late afternoon there are a good amount of people (3-5 customers) but the waffle wait is pretty normal, too. I've been pretty disappointed the last 3 times I've been here.  And after my last experience,  finally decided to update my review.  I ordered online again and it gave me a time frame of like 20 minutes after I ordered, which is fine.  I ordered at 4:05 and it said pick up between 4:27-4:49pm or something.  Anyway, by 4:35, I went in to check on my order and it was ready. It had been sitting there for who knows how long.... What's disappointing was that my bubble waffle was soggy by then, which could have been avoided since I was already there in the parking lot, waiting. I never got a notification saying it was ready for pick up. Also my matcha tea had way too much matcha that the texture was off. Sad day for me :( read more

Happy Lemon is one of my favorite franchises for tea, and I'm so happy that they now have this location in the Southcenter area. I find their drink quality to be consistent not only at each visit, but also compared to other Happy Lemon locations I've been to (Bellevue as well as out of state). My favorite drink is their Strawberry Jasmine Green Tea with Rock Salt Crema. I've been hooked on it ever since I've tried it; in fact, it's one of the reasons I keep coming back and it's hard for me to try something different! I also prefer this location compared to the one at Bellevue Square because the lines are no where near as long. Let me take a moment and let you all know their bubble waffle is so delicious!!!! I mean I've had bubble waffle (and oasis tries) but the waffle is golden and light and airy on the inside. It honestly didn't need sugar dusting or any other additions. Though if you get the sauce I do think it'll enhance the flavor. But the original will always be delicious. As for their drinks. I don't know. Personally it's okay. I wouldn't crave it on any particular day but it does the job. Maybe I'm not a fan of the flavors or I just have this deep love for milk tea that my cousin makes. I ordered the Strawberry Jasmine green tea with rock salt cream. Adjusted the sweetness to 70% but I probably could have went even less. It was delicious and refreshing! The salty cheese creama adds a nice layer of saltiness to balance the sweetness from the strawberries and tea. I didn't add any toppings but it would go well with some lychee jelly. Small sidenote but I was impressed by the lid on their cups! With the rock salt cream you dont need a straw (unless you add toppings). There is a small spout you drink from and it allows you to get just the right amount of cream and tea with each sip. Bubble waffle half original & half chocolate with a side of puff Oreo for dipping and both as a combo were delicious. You have a few choices to choose from if you want to add a dipping sauce. The puff cream I ordered is essentially heavy whipped topping mixed with cream cheese and Oreo bits. It complimented the waffle well. The waffle itself was freshly made so it was warm, soft and a bit chewy texture like mochi yet crispy on the outside. It was slightly hallow inside which resulted to a light and airy experience. Flavor was excellent-- tasted better than any bubble waffle I have every had! It reminded me of the perfect balance between a waffle and an ice cream waffle/ pizzelle cookie. I'm embarrassed to admit it but I scarfed it down to the last bite! Once you break a piece off from the waffle you try one and you can't stop! It was so good! I had a huge lunch before hand and I'm surprised I even had room to eat the whole waffle haha! I know they're in their soft opening right now but I literally saw an employee make her own drink and leave.... while I'm still waiting for my drink to be made. I waited more than 15 minutes and there's only one person ahead of me who still didn't even get his things yet (more like 20 minutes) Edit: I have empathy for those that are working in food service because I've worked in food services before but when I see employees who blatantly do not care about their surroundings and make their own drinks and walk out while there's literally only one other person ahead of me waiting for their drink I'm not going to give a good review. If there are 3 total customers and 5 people in the back.... I think that should be sufficient man power to be able to get drinks out in less than 20 minutes.... This is my go to place for my sweet craving! Definitely the best bubble tea that I tried so far. I can tell they are using fresh ingredients as it doesn't give me bad after taste like others do. Grapefruit jasmine green tea is my fav as it maintains the perfect balance between the sourness and sweetness and it is super fresh after the first sip. Tapioca is perfectly cooked, chewy and sweet. Bubble waffle is a must try! It recalls my childhood life in Hong Kong, appreciate how they preserve the traditional waffle making process. Crispy on the outside and chewy inside. Much better than the mall location, this Happy Lemon doesn't have a super long line and the drink quality is a little better, even with faster service. The milk teas aren't watered down and actually have flavor, the boba is hit or miss on flavor, but the texture has been good each time I've been here. I'm not a fan of the bubble waffles, but they're decent texture snacks. Minus two stars because I've had better boba drinks at other places, and how come I'm charged full price for two toppings if I ask for half of each? Came here after shopping at southcenter mall, plenty of parking. The shop is clean and the service was friendly. I ordered their new macaroon blue drink, which was very unique with its blue color which came from the butterfly pea flower, mixed with the coconut milk was soo good!!!! It's a seasonal drink but I really hope they can keep it permanent because it's now my favorite at Happy Lemon. I come here for their bubble waffles, the original is my favorite, the chocolate one is just okay. When it is made right, the bubble waffles are warm, crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. Usually I can't finish it in one sitting, but the bubble waffles still taste good the next day. The drinks are pretty good as well, I usually get just a regular milk tea with boba, but I have heard good things about their taro milk tea since it is made from actual taro and not from powder. read more

No tip = they will put regular milk in your lactose intolerant 10 year old daughters drink and she will be sick the rest of the night. The product is 5 stars, I dropped the review down to 4 stars overall because they had their bathroom closed, and my kiddo really needed to use it. She has bladder issues. Went here because of a good experience I'd had at a Happy Lemon franchise in the Bay Area. Boy, do I regret it! We arrived at approximately 1:20pm. Waited in line for 20 minutes (even though line wasn't past the front door, I guess the number of orders had already caused a backlog behind the counter). According to receipt, transaction was at 1:42pm; for reference, we ordered a mango smoothie, jasmine green milk tea and chocolate waffle (not a huge order). We received the waffle around 1:57pm and didn't get our drinks until 2:17pm!! It should not have taken almost an hour to order and receive two drinks and a waffle! Even if you disregard the 20 minutes we had to wait in line, that's 35 minutes to get two drinks - come on! My family and I could have gone to a sit down restaurant and received food and drinks in less time. Not to mention, milk tea was watery. Mango smoothie and waffle were okay. I would've preferred that someone working could have done better line management (e.g., checked in with folks, let them know how long wait would be - that way, we could make our own choice to stay and wait or leave). Had I known it would take so long to get our drinks, I absolutely would have gone somewhere else - but I would've appreciated the head's up and come back at another time. I tried the Happy Lemon in bellevue about 5 days ago, and was excited to try the closer location, expecting to show my boyfriend the same experience with taro balls since he never had any. The experience I had made me reluctant to go back. Maybe in a couple months when the hype dies down, just maybe. First off, the place was cute and quaint. Smells wonderfully of the bubble waffle. Cashier was nice, able to efficiently order my order and even told me a bit about their "rolly?" (Idk the system, but kinda like the clover app where you buy certain amount of drinks to get a free drink on your phone tracker) system even though it was quite busy. Appreciate the effort for small talk. Waited a couple minutes for the drinks and watched bubble waffles being made. No biggy. Got my drink when it was called, walked out to my car and saw that my order wasn't correct because i saw lychee instead of taro balls. And i only ordered the drink for the taro balls to show my bf, otherwise, i wouldnt have cared if it was wrong or that i paid 25cent more for the substitute. Walked in and politely asked if the lychee was the taro balls, since maybe im mistaken. Short asian guy with curly hair (perm?) Said it was indeed lychee, which i indicate on the order that I've substituted the lychee for taros instead. He gave a sigh, took my drink, pop the top with a fork and drained the contents into another container, and put it back under the lid sealing machine, all in front of me with no shame. I have no problem with not wasting contents by making reusing the drink, but what i did have a problem with was that he then tried to avoid eye contacts with me and even DELAY giving me my drink by tryna pretend to look busy by cleaning invisible dusts or something. He didnt want to give an apology and handed the drink to another girl (who was very confused cause she thought she already called this order, bless her for being caught in the middle of me giving him death stares.) He have to end up pointing me out to her anyways. Long story short, will not be back until maybe the guy learns customer servicr cause he looks like he did NOT want to be there or the grand opening hype dies down.
